After examining the tree for many more moments, they soon left the area and returned back to the hill. There, Whisker had suddenly asked about the events at Asterra.
Magnus and Avalon, who had been searching for Atticus, had joined them just as he started narrating the events. Oberon and Jenera joined later.
As expected, the mood had been tense. Though he hadn't deemed some parts worth mentioning, the occurrence of a new enemy was enough to warrant the tense moment.
The threat of the Sentinels had just been confirmed, and a new impossible enemy had been added to the already impossible list.
"So…" Avalon broke the tense silence, "the Will Guard are hunting people with this… fragment. And you're one of them?"
Atticus nodded.
Avalon released a breath, then glanced around the silent group.
"Then they're our enemies."
Magnus was the first to react. Lightning crackled around his figure as he nodded solemnly. An enemy of Atticus was an enemy of his, no matter who was in the wrong.
