Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - Beginning of Chaos

Before I went to the Entrance to check on the new players with my floormates, I asked Haden what happened to the people in floor 1's safe zone. He told me that the safe zone's residents have split into two, his side and the revolution side. The revolutionaries are aiming for the owners authorities, so they are aiming at the floor owners throats.

He told me that they sent a party of five to go to my floor to challenge me a month ago for the floor owner's authority, but he didn't tell me, and since no one came to the safe zone and I didn't contact him about it, he assumed they died trying to get to this floor.

A few people challenged him, and he thwarted their attempt, as he is indisputable the strongest player in floor 1.

Now I've got a few questions in my head that I didn't ask him, first of all, what did he do for his Safe zone to have a revolution going on? Second, why didn't he tell me they sent people to assassinate me? And third, I don't remember that the rule said you had to kill people who challenged you. The three are the biggest red flags that make me lose most of my trust in Haden. I wonder what he's trying to do.

Well, I've got another matter to attend to before checking out what they are cooking in floor 1.

Using the floors option, I pressed the glowing "Entrance" button, and I found myself back in the green field. Behind me is the sky-piercing Battle Tower.

Everyone is mindlessly walking toward the Tower, Our arrival got the attention of hundreds of people in front of us from afar, and with my enhanced perception, I could see them looking at us with a confused expression, but their legs didn't stop walking toward us.

"You guys can go and maybe find your families, I will stay here, so ask them to choose a representative and direct them toward me or Eliza."

""Alright.""

My floormates went toward the marching people. I split up my bodies and made Leonard stay at the same place while Eliza walked behind the tower, and there I saw a few hundred people also marching toward the tower.

'Now that I think about it, why did the Tower allow us to go here? Does it want us to guide the new players? Well, if that's what it wants, then I shall do it. First, I need elevation, and I've got the perfect thing for it.' I thought to myself, looking at the people heading toward us. After I walked around 20 meters toward their directions, I took out two stone thrones that I had made and sat on them. The people looked bewildered at the sight but were still walking toward me while I just sat there waiting.

A man went toward Leonard and spoke.

"Those guys who went with you told us to go to you for questions, who are you? And how did this throne appear from thin air?"

"My name is Leonard Kevler, and assuming there had been a mass report of missing people outside six months ago, I might be one of them. As for the second question, I have what this place called a unique ability."

"My name is Harry Austin, can you tell me where or what this place is?"

"You're at the entrance of the Battle Tower, didn't the headless man already tell you that?"

"What headless man?"

'Seriously? Did Gan not go to this place to tell them how this place works?'

"Well, it seems like the responsibility of guiding you guys has been passed down to me."

Looking down, I asked a question loudly.

"Has anyone of you heard of those fantasy novels or manga with [Status] screens and stuff?"

I heard some "yes" from the people, most of them were young people.

"Yea, this place has one, to open it, just think of [Status] with the intent of summoning a screen that shows your status. Some of you might have Unique abilities, but most people won't. When you finish doing that, you can ask me more questions."

'Oh wait, can they use [Menu]? Reading the guide is faster as an explanation for them. I looked at Harry and asked.

"Can you use [Menu]?"

"What's that?"

"The screen you can summon in the same way as [Status], it will give you a list of options you could use, if you can find Guide, then press it like a touchscreen from your phone."

"Oh, I see it." With Harry's confirmation, I looked at everyone and said,

"Change of plan, you guys can read the [Guide] from the [Menu] option, you can summon it the same way you summon your status."

The situation with Eliza went more or less the same way as Leonard's, but their representative was a man named Brent Bush. After they finished reading through the guides, I got their attention and told them about the danger of the first floor of the tower, the fact that it contained 10 goblins, and that the goblins would kill without mercy. While talking to them, I wondered why the people from floor 1 didn't come here, but the moment I finished the thought, I felt the presence of a man come out of the Tower but I didn't care much about it until I felt that guy start running toward me holding something. I jumped down from my throne and looked back at him, his face I hadn't seen for nearly 6 months, but I still remembered that he's one of the people who fully believed he could get out of here. The thing he was holding was an iron spear with a wooden shaft.

"What are you doi-" Before I could finish my sentence, he thrust his spear toward my arm, which I dodged and got a hold of. He tried to struggled the spear out of my grasp, but before he could do it, I broke the spear in half. His eyes widened.

"Wha-" was his word before I put the part I broke off toward his right leg.

"Argh." Mason grunted in pain.

"Mason, can you tell me what happened?" I asked him calmly.

The people who were listening to me a few seconds ago now look at me in horror.

"Oh, right."
