I grumbled and laid belly down on the wagon's floor. Staring at the ceiling, I wondered when we would get to the Sueyume's camp. It was taking forever!
Mommy patted my head and chuckled. "Relax, my bunny. Don't be in such a rush. You'll miss all the good stuff. Take in the scenery, the sounds, the smells. Enjoy the journey, not the destination. Trust me, you'll appreciate life more that way."
I huffed and sat up. "I'm not a little kid anymore, Mama. I'm seven years old, remember?"
Daddy laughed, leaning against the wall of the wagon. "When I was seven, I was still swinging a stick pretending to be a swordsman. You're more mature than I was, that's for sure."
Mommy giggled. "Even now, she might have you beat, dear. You're quite the child at heart."
He grinned. "Hey, what's wrong with that? Keeps life interesting. Besides, I bet our daughter will be a formidable opponent when she grows up. Wouldn't want to mess with her, that's for sure."
