Chapter 7: Quirks are Stupid But Exciting All the Same

"You know, if you want to be a hero so badly, there might actually be another way. Just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof of the building."
I couldn't help but sigh in disappointment as I watched the scene play out before me between Midoriya and Bakugo.
It was now the day that All Might and Midoriya would meet, and that meant that my data samples were almost here. Well, I better get started now.
Walking past Bakugo, I made my way toward Izuku, where I placed a small tracker inside his backpack.
I didn't have time to follow Izuku around for the next couple of hours. So while I went to do my own things, I would come around later to gather the blood samples of All Might.
With the tracker secured, I made my way out of the classroom and then out of the school, where I got into my car and drove away.
After driving for about an hour, I arrived at my destination. It was a run-down building with red brick walls. Going up to the building, I walked inside, ignoring the trash and grime that covered the floors and walls, until I arrived at the only door left that wasn't knocked down or broken.
Reaching forward, I knocked on the door before standing back. A couple of seconds later, the door opened, revealing a man who was a head taller than me wearing ripped jeans, a dirty t-shirt, and a gray and black mask over his head.
"You're Twice right?" I said with a smile.
"Yeah, that's right!" Twice said before immediately contradicting himself. "No way, I have no idea who you're talking about!"
"Yup, you're definitely Twice. You mind if I come in?"
"Of course I mind!/Come right in." Twice said with some exaggerated movements, but as the ultimate psychiatrist, I knew what he meant, so I walked into the apartment, where I stood against the wall.
"So Twice, no, can I call you Jin or Bubaigawara?"
"Yeah, go ahead, call me what you want/No way there are steps to be taken at that level of friendship!"
"Then Twice, I have a proposition for you." I said as I took out my phone and showed the screen to him, which showed a video of the attack the other day.
You're dangerous in your own way Twice, allowing you to fall into anyone else's hands would be sacrilege. That's why you'll be brainwashed.
Brainwashing wasn't completely foolproof, despite how powerful a tool it was. For example, getting rid of hard brainwashing could be done in three ways: first, someone else could brainwash the target to make them act normal before the brainwashing; second, deleting the memories associated with the new personality to return the original one; and third, if things remind the new personality of old memories that would contradict their new logic and cause them to revert.
That was why light brainwashing was so much better. It eliminated some of the problems since it was taken over a longer period of time, allowing the brainwashing to be several layers deep compared to hard brainwashing, making it much harder to get rid of.
But as expected, it took a long time, and even with Toga, she still wasn't completely loyal to me.
The brainwashing video I created made people more susceptible to suggestions, making negotiations much easier. "Have you seen that attack on Esuha City the other day Twice?"
"Hell yeah, anyone with a brain has seen that crazy attack!/It was awesome!"
"Well, you're looking at the man behind it." I said with a smirk.
"Really, but you're a kid?/Awesome, can I get your autograph!"
"Maybe later. For now, I came because I wanted to recruit you. This world is unfair for people who are brought down by the system like you were. You lost your parents, your job, and your home all because of your shitty circumstances. And now you don't even know if you're the original, thanks to your quirk. I want to change that by destroying this broken system. So what do you say Twice? I need friends I can depend on to make this world as great as I know it can be."

"Stupid magic quirk bullshit!" I couldn't help but curse in frustration as I glared at the sample of All Might's blood that I had been studying for weeks now.
It was utterly frustrating that the quirk was there. I had enough data to find that out, but despite my probing at the quirk factor, I got no reaction from it.
I was taken out of my thoughts by the train car shaking. Turning around, I looked at the figure standing on the other side of the train car.
"I have to agree; it doesn't make any sense! There is obviously science involved, but that thing just defies it!" The figure turned around, revealing it was myself; he was a double created by Twice that has been working with me to crack this stupid quirk.
"Maybe we should just force him to give us the quirk by taking Midoriya hostage." My clone said with a shrug.
"We both know we can't do that since the school has way more opportunities. There's also the possibility of just making a double of All Might once we meet him at UA and taking the quirk, but for now, let's continue with the study."
"Yeah, yeah, I know." The clone said with a sigh as he walked back to sit back in his area of the lab.
The next couple of hours, we spent time trying to decipher this puzzle. I was taken out of my thoughts when the train car door opened.
Walking inside were Toga and Twice, who were carrying a body bag into the car.
"Heyo boss, man's, how you doin?" Twice said with a jolly wave.
"Not good; this thing pissed us off, something fierce." I said with a sigh as I started cleaning off the table. "Bring him over here so we can start testing on him." Turning toward the clone, he threw me a pair of sterilized black gloves that I slipped on.
Walking over to the body bag I grabbed a medical face mask that I put on my face before opening the bag.
With it opened, I was greeted by a boy around my age with short blonde hair and light blue eyes that were glaring up at me.
"Hello, Neito Monoma; it's a pleasure to meet you." I said as I picked up the boy out of the bag and placed him down on the now cleared-out table. "Sorry to say, but your quirk is quite fascinating, being able to copy quirks with a simple touch. I want to see what makes your quirk tick so I can use it for myself." I said as I pulled off the tape covering his mouth.
"What?! you're going to try and steal my quirk?! How dare you?!?!" He immediately screamed at me with indignation.
"To be honest, your compliance isn't a factor." I said, grabbing a face mask connected to a canister of anesthesia from my clone and tried to place it on the struggling kid.
"Get that thing away from me!" He yelled, and before he could do anything else, he had a knife placed against his adam's apple, courtesy of Toga, who looked at Neito with a murderous glare.
"Stop struggling, or I'll cut your throat." Toga said coldly.
With Neito not moving, I secured the mask to his face before I activated the gas. "Don't worry, Neito, you won't feel a thing." I said as I picked up a scalpel and made a small incision in his arm. "Toga, be a dear, and cut off some of his hair." I said as I cut out a chunk of Neito's flesh.
"Got it, Alex-kun." Toga said, and with a flourish, she cut off a decent chunk of hair from Neito's head.
After a couple of minutes, I finished cutting out several sections of Neito's skin, and my clone had drawn several syringes full of blood.
With it, we began looking at the DNA, and it was utterly fascinating. It was much different from our quirk factors. While our quirk factors were changing, it kept it a somewhat recognizable shape, but Neito's was like putty.
His quirk factor configured itself to match the quirk factor it was copying, and it could even configure itself into three at the same time.
This should help further my research on these quirks, but I have to wonder why Garaki never thought to kidnap this kid; he would have made the perfect Nomu so long as he got a touch of a single hero. With a sigh, I shook my head from those thoughts as I went back to studying this quirk so I could push it to its limits.
"Oh yeah, Twice, I want you to try something for me." I said with a smirk as I handed him a blueprint.
