Chapter 597 - Chapter 597: Fortune Teller

As the Kitsune was dispatched and taken back to her quarters, watching over Koina's movements and wondering why she's willing to assist him of all people, she'd hear a noise come up from the direction they were heading. "Koina? Tsukiya? The hell's the meaning of all this?" A voice, as the dark mist flowed freely, the smog quick on snagging around both, just to ensure the Assassin doesn't pull a fast one.

"Enenra, is it? Still getting used to the new name. She and I have some business to attend to..." Koina would respond, being careful with her wording, knowing that giving away her position would result in his attack. Tsukiya, meanwhile, remains unfazed. While she was initially shocked with her switching sides, the way she's speaking allows her to relay it into words, a message by one of her talismans. Her own encounter would be written in her blood, letting the paper take up such letters and flutter it over, allowing Enenra to notice and have the smog stain it, allowing the imprint to remain if at any point the blood was removed, a way to blackmail if need be.

"Business, I assume, with Wyvios?" He'd ask, silently approaching, trying to get a proper read on Koina's actions to see where her alliance is at.

"He's promised me something... and I intend to get it."

"You'd trust the guy who's more than willing to see you as a trophy wife than as a proper soldier. Is that right?"

"How did you-!?"

"My father's in cahoots with Orochi, remember?" Such a reminder would leave Koina annoyed at most, knowing well she's being read like a book. She gripped her dagger tighter, not in threats, but in fear.

"He was also abandoned. He told me that his creation... Project Helios... it's something that'd revolutionize the world. Maybe... if I help him, I may have some proper purpose. I wouldn't be treated as just another weapon. Maybe I could even use it to get back at Taro and those that wronged all of us. Maybe..."

"And you're sure he's willing to share the benefits?"

"O-Of course he woul-"

"No, REALLY think about it. Guy's so self-absorbed in his own desires from what we've seen. The only way he'd be willing to share is if he gets something out of it. I can see it in his eyes. He's not playing fair, not with you at least."

"AND WHAT ABOUT YOU!? Far as I recalled, your band of misfits KIDNAPPED me! Sure, I was sent to hunt and learn you guys, but you dragged me along like I'm some sort of tour guide! I've been stomaching this for a while, but this is the final straw. I can actually do something for MYSELF!"

"...And if he gets what he wants? What happens then?" The question loomed over her head like a sword, her eyes darting at the ground, knowing she's at an impasse. She wants to answer back, but it holds at her throat, choking the air away. She can't say anything. She'd only either look stupid or a hypocrite to her own desires. She can't even bring herself to lower the blade onto the Kitsune's neck. "As I thought... this isn't what you wanted. If you want to be recognized, you could've told us and we would've involved you."

"...I was involved... and I failed."

"We ALL failed. Back in Calibren, we failed to preserve and save the people. We ALL have regrets. It's what war is. We can't control what happens. We can only pray and prepare for the worst. A warrior like yourself should know that most of all." The words struck deep within her soul, as Koina would start to lower her arm, dropping her guard by every second. In a way... he was right. He was completely right, in every sense of the word. As she'd contemplate on her decisions, as she'd try to see if there was a light she wished to uphold, a sign that she's still on the right, that she can still keep on...

"The World!"

SHIKK!!!

A Barrier, one quickly erupted and swarming on all sides, one that carved straight through Koina's arms as it manifested, screeching and reeling back as she'd see the Descendants caught. The Barrier gets smaller and smaller, slowly into the size of a marble, while at the same time creating a massive location within it, filled with people, plants, and animals. A city within a small ball, quickly picked up by one of the hooded figures before the Assassin could even react. "Well, I expected some level of treason. I saw it ahead of time during one of my readings..." She'd state, her cloak hiding her facial features. As Koina tried to get up and rush ahead, her head would immediately be grabbed.

Someone else caught up alongside with the woman. "Revolting... Your arms came clean off. Perhaps with the Sun, you may be able to regrow some new ones." The man stated, as such palming would force her to be dragged away by the two, an immediate strike in her sides to knock her out so she wouldn't raise further noise.

Majora and Dahak.

As they were properly alone, walking such bodies, the two looked at one another through their hoods. A rough tension was in the air, one that itched in the same, close desire to maim one another. Then, Dahak spoke first. "Do you think we're being a bit too harsh on them?" A bit more softspoken, as if he's found guilty of breaking an antique by his parents.

"I lobbed off a woman's arms here. All you did was simply knock said woman out. You're at least LESS harsh on them than anything I'd throw." Majora replied, acting almost sympathetic, completely antithetical to what they were before.

"Oh... phew..." He'd raise his arm and wipe away any sweat that can be considered a sign of stress. "The last thing I want is to be depicted as the villain again by another outsider. She seemed pretty nice too... all of them, in fact! I don't want to keep this act up forever..."

"The only way we'd drop such bickering is if Wyvios is dead. Considering he's willing to camp himself up in his personal quarters, I doubt he wants to listen to reason."

"...I feel guilty. Unclean, even..."

"We both do." Majora's words lingered as the two noticed the doors opening, a staircase below, with people coming out of it to act as personalized guards for whatever is underneath. "Small talk over. Let's go back to being enemies." She'd mumble, as she'd fix her cloak and held the Descendants in the palm of her hand.
