IN THE KINGDOM OF YAN
Princess Zhao Yuning stood before her bedroom window, her eyes staring blankly at the red spider lilies dancing in the wind.
The flowers covered a large portion of the garden below. Their bright red petals swayed gently beneath the morning breeze, occasionally brushing against one another before separating again.
She remained motionless for an hour before a maidservant knocked on the door and called for her.
"Your Highness?"
Princess Zhao Yuning slowly shifted her gaze away and unhurriedly left the room, her fingers gently caressing the bracelet around her left wrist.
The maidservant lowered her head as the princess passed.
Zhao Yuning didn't look back.

"Is the Kingdom of Yan the same as the Kingdom of Ning?"
"How long will it take to get there?"
"We've been on the road for how many days now?"
