Mandar Schion was extremely angry and rightfully so.Kerry the Slicer didn't even bother bringing his test subject back to him and he even had the gall to tell Mandar that his test subject had died.
Thankfully Mandar had thought things through and sent one of his mages to check on Kerrys group and see if his test subject was with them.It didn't take long to find out Valdels whereabouts.
Valdel would be returned to him soon enough.Mandar could hardly wait to perform tests on Valdel and see how different he was compared to the last time he had seen him.
The only reason why Mandar kept experimenting on Valdels body was that he wanted a body similar to Valdel.He simply couldn't handle that Valdel was simply born different and was lucky.The feeling of inferiority and jealousy only made Mandar even angrier as he smashed his work table.
The impact of his fist left an imprint on his stone table and cracks appeared on the surface of the stone table.His papers on magic research and experimentation went flying off the table.
Mandar breathed in deeply and controlled his rage.He didn't know why he did that but he would get a servant to clean it up.He was thankfully close to getting his breakthrough but no matter what Mandar did he couldn't see himself gaining a body similar to Valdels.
He had tried many things but they didn't work.Once he tried extracting blood from Valdels body and inserting it into the right arm of a poor beggar.The right arm of the beggar was wounded and cut but with the insertion of the blood it began to heal.It seemed to be a success at first but the right arm of the beggar became covered in lumps and began to swell.The beggars arm had to be amputated and the arm is still kept in the mages guild and is still being studied.The arm doesn't seem to decay or die no matter how much time it has spent amputated from the beggar.
It no doubt had something to do with Valdels blood.The secrets to his biology had to be in his incredible blood it was the same for all living organisms.Ones blood decided their characteristics and form.If only there was a magical device or magic that allowed one to look deeper into blood and see its inner structure or better yet allow one to modify one's own blood and body in order to mimick superior blood and bodies.
"Well that's enough theories and thinking I believe he's here."Mandar thought as he heard the door open and who was there other then his test subject.
Mandar did however have to admit that Valdel seemed slightly weaker which annoyed him.No doubt the necromancers starved him a bit which was annoying.
Valdels body was continuously breaking itself down and repairing itself stronger then before.This was a process that required a huge amount of energy which was why Valdel had to be constantly eating.If he didn't eat the required amount of food and drink then his body wouldn't be able to break and repair itself to be stronger but would become weaker overtime.
The process created little waste from what would be expected from such an appetite.The digestive system was probably extremely efficient.
Speaking of changes Valdel seemed to be different for some reason.His eyes appeared to be deader then usual if that was possible.There was simply no shine in them.Not to mention his skin seemed to be abnormally pale but that was probably because he spent a lot of time without sunlight.Valdel had been kidnapped by necromancers so it was plausible.
"I want to learn magic."Orion said as he looked towards the man who was obviously a powerful mage in front of him.
Mandar was taken aback by the sudden request as his test subject had never said such a daring thing before him now.He was honestly tempted but there was one thing getting in the way of him agreeing.
"Even if I agree to teaching you magic there is no point since you have no talent in magic."Mandar stated what he thought was the obvious until Orion said something that made him question things.
"I can prove you wrong easily."said Orion as he grinned.Mandar was about to rebuke him but Orion did something that stopped him.

Orion materialised an ice wall that was durable and strong.
"How have you learned magic that should be impossible.I thought you had zero talent in mana."Mandar was questioning reality.
Valdel was supposed to have a high mana count sure but he had no talent in mana so he shouldn't be able to use even the simplist of spells.However he had just used two of them.
