Lyra was one of the necromancers who was on patrol across the walls of castle Zancrow.The leaders of the sordid cult branch had increased the patrols since the final attack on the trading caravans.There was bound to be an attack by Ring City now that the necromancers existence had been confirmed.
Lyra had seen something incredible which still made her marvel at the prospects of the cult.She had seen a skeleton somehow evolve into a zombie.Everyone had seen the skeleton evolve and it made them excited.If they could figure out how the skeleton did it then they could evolve their own undead and increase their power.
They simply had to survive the attack from Ring City and summon their Lord Varimathras and then they could experiment all they liked.Lyra was excited seeing the new history of the cult happening before her eyes.
"Lyra what are you standing there grinning for."an older necromancer said as he walked towards Lyra.He was also patrolling the eastern wall with Lyra but he was taking his job seriously.
"Sorry I was just thinking about the prospects of the cult after what happened yesterday."Lyra spoke honestly as she was still wondering about the event.
"I agree good things have been happening to the cult.First the summoning of Lord Varimathras and now this evolving skeleton.Theres no doubt Lord Varimathras will teach everyone the truth of this world and we will be able to take over Ring City and possibly even this entire large island."The older necromancer took a chance to marvel at the possibilities.
Suddenly a shout resounded throughout the area and it came from the northern wall.
"We're being attacked by goblins and hobgoblins.Sound the alarm and get the others from within the castle."a young cultist and necromancer yelled out in desperation.
"Hold on a second why do we need the others to defend against mere goblins."wondered Lyra as she came running over to the northern wall.
Once she arrived however she was shocked as she saw goblins and hobgoblins of all sizes and outfits.That wasn't the abnormal part however as they all looked unusual.They were all abnormally big compared to normal goblins about 80 cm to 120 cm.The hobgoblins easily exceeded 6 foot at seven feet tall and were morbidly obese.They all had green skin with dark green stripes with blotches of brown and yellow here and there.They also seemed abnormally advanced as they wore animal skins instead of being naked and they handled metal weapons instead of being bare handed.Some had red mushrooms growing out of their heads.
"kekeke attack the humans they are the species that dare to worship the light against our master."
"They must have been mutated by the fog from that broken out dungeon to the North and gained intelligence.Lyra you hurry up and get the others from inside the castle we need everyone for a group that large."said the older necromancer as he pushed Lyra off the wall into the courtyard where she landed in some hay that cushioned her landing.
Lyra immediately heard the sound of metal clanging and spells being cast.The goblins had clearly climbed the wall and the battle had already began.Lyra rushed to the inside of the castle as the necromancers and undead in the courtyard rushed to battle.
Lyra opened the door to the inside of the castle and found herself in the banquet hall where a lot of necromancers and undead were residing.They all looked toward the opened doors wondering if they were being attacked and they thought that it was too soon.
"We're being attacked by mutated goblins."yelled Lyra as she looked at the hall in desperation.
The necromancers and undead were confused but quickly got up and went to action.Once they got up and exited the castle they saw a chilling sight.The few undead and necromancers who had been outside had been killed.
There were also a few goblin corpses on the ground.The hobgoblins had also a punched their way through the magically reinforced wall which could handle some attacks at the low class B.The goblins had clearly climbed the wall and wondered through the hole in the wall and massacred the cult members.
The goblins were clearly cheering but they stopped once they saw the large group of necromancers and undead who ranged from the high class C to the mid B class with the leading necromancer being at the high B class.The large group of goblins realised this and then retreated.
"We'll simply come back with more goblins.Don't you dare rest easy we know exactly where your base is."yelled a goblin who was the last to run away.
The necromancers didn't chase after them and let them get away.They simply turned their dead associates into undead as well as the dead goblins.They would need the extra members against the attack from Ring City.
