Chapter 855 - Chapter 855: The Seventh Demon King

"Your Highness, Muria!" Upon seeing the sudden spatial rift and the black-haired, golden-eyed youth who emerged from it, Sauron couldn't continue studying the laws before him. He quickly bowed and greeted Muria.

"Mm!" Muria, who had torn through space, nodded slightly in response to the greetings from the legendary figures who had come to witness the light of the laws.

Among the group, he noticed Sauron, a human legend who stood out. However, Muria didn't pay him too much attention. When Sauron had led his pirate fleet to join him, Muria had been somewhat surprised by his current achievements and status.

Firstly, Muria hadn't expected that a casual act of his in the past would result in the creation of a human legend. Secondly, he was surprised that this man, who had been obsessed with protecting his sister, had gone astray and become a pirate, making quite a name for himself in the process.

Initially, Muria's first instinct was to reject the offer of allegiance from a pirate. But Sauron insisted that he was different from other pirates, claiming he hadn't committed any atrocities or killed innocents. This claim had given Muria pause.

Of course, Muria wasn't easily swayed by appearances. He sent people to investigate in the Ionian subcontinent and discovered that Sauron, while called a pirate king, acted more like a protector of the seas' order than a lawless marauder.

For this reason, Muria allowed him and his group of pirates to join Synapsis as an auxiliary legion. Aside from that, Muria hadn't shown Sauron any particular favor. He felt he didn't owe Sauron anything. Whatever Sauron achieved now stemmed from Muria's earlier gifts, so anything he sought from Synapsis had to be earned through effort.

After a glance at the legends under his command, Muria turned his attention to the spectacle of the world's laws manifesting before him. One by one, islands were rapidly covered in lush forests, a sign of the world's laws assimilating foreign ones.

"Casio, can you explain the world laws I'm witnessing now? What caused this?" Muria asked. This habit of his—asking his spirit whenever he encountered something he didn't understand—had become second nature. Casio, connected to the vast archives of the Titan race, was practically all-knowing, at least from Muria's perspective.

"Your Highness, this phenomenon is caused by the gods sacrificing a fragment of a fallen epic. You're likely standing at a divine sacrifice point!" Casio quickly analyzed the situation and provided Muria with an answer based on the current events.

"The gods' sacrifice?" Muria was slightly taken aback.

"Yes, not long ago, outside the world's barriers, there was an epic battle. Based on the energy fluctuations, one side consisted of the gods of this world, while the other side was the evil gods of the demon clan, who have been fighting against our epics. The gods emerged victorious in this battle."

Casio then revealed crucial information. It was the first time since Muria had left the Titan Archipelago with his grandmother that he had received intelligence from beyond the void.

"According to past patterns, when an epic falls, part of its body remains. The gods will sacrifice these remains to the world..." Casio explained a piece of knowledge Muria hadn't known before.

"I see!" Muria nodded, quickly understanding. Each epic fused a massive amount of origin energy, so their remains, after death, were valuable nourishment for the world.

The process of the world consuming the remains of an epic was a rare opportunity for legends like him, who hadn't yet reached the epic level.

"This kind of opportunity... and I missed it. What a shame!" Muria felt a pang of regret as he watched the nearly concluded transformation of the islands. Such a straightforward chance to observe the manifestation of world laws was rare. In his 400 years of life, he had only seen it once, and at that time, due to his lack of strength, he had gained little from it.

"Your Highness, if you regret missing this chance to witness the world assimilating an epic's remains, there's no need to worry.

What you see now is merely the world absorbing less than one-tenth of an evil god's remains. It's not that significant. So far, our epic Titans have slain more than ten evil gods, and if you wish, you can apply to observe the world assimilating a complete epic corpse in the future," Casio informed him proudly.

Muria fell into a brief silence, unsure how to express his current emotions. He had thought he had missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, only to find out from Casio that while this was a rare event for most, it was something he could witness whenever he wanted.

"So... if I wanted to witness the world fusing an entire epic corpse right now, could I?" Muria tentatively asked.

"Not at the moment, Your Highness. All the epics are currently fighting on the front lines. You'll have to wait until the war is over," Casio replied.

"Ah, that's fine." Muria nodded without any lingering regret. He had only asked out of curiosity. "Do you know when this war will end?"

"There's no way to predict that at the moment."

"Are our Titan epics—or rather, the epics of Erathia—winning on the battlefield?" Muria finally asked the question that had been bothering him the most.

"Yes, Master Muria! Our epics hold the advantage. So far, every epic Titan who has fought has slain at least one evil god!"

Casio's voice, tinged with pride, echoed in Muria's mind. The sentient, emotional Casio had fully embraced his identity as part of the Titan race.

"Good! That's good!" A wide grin spread across Muria's face as he heard the news of the war in the void. The legends around him were puzzled, unsure why Muria had suddenly become so cheerful.

...

In a distant cluster of unknown worlds, a group of beings whose very existence caused ripples in time and space gathered, exchanging thoughts.

"Secret Void, Jinli, Ghost Blade, Moyuan... and in less than thirty day-moon cycles, so many demon lords have already died!"

"There's no helping it. The epics from the race we're fighting this time are simply too powerful!"

"I've fought them once. I've never seen divine lords so strong!" A weak voice interrupted the discussion. "These divine lords seem to have been fighting since birth. Their combat strength is the greatest I've ever seen."

"I don't know if they're the strongest, but I do know that over twenty demon lords have already fallen. If you add in the few weaklings who were captured, the losses are already too high. Something needs to change."

"Change? What change? Surrender? Or send more demon lords?"

"Surrender? Are you joking? I admit those self-proclaimed Titan divine lords are formidable, but they have a fatal flaw—they're too few in number."

"If one-on-one doesn't work, send two. If two aren't enough, send three. If that fails, we'll send ten at once. I don't believe we can't kill them!"

"Ahem, Ghost Prison Lord, I must remind you, while the Titans are few, we don't outnumber them ten to one!"

"So, what's your solution?"

"Let's awaken a Demon King. If we keep losing more of our kind, the Demon King will awaken on his own, and then none of us will escape punishment. We might as well take the initiative and end this war."

"Which Demon King should we awaken?"

"Awaken the Seventh Demon King. No matter how strong those Titans are, none of them have reached the level of a Demon King yet!"

With that decided, the group traveled to a vast void vortex.

This colossal vortex emitted a powerful pull, silently drawing in nearby worlds. Countless worlds were floating and rotating within the vortex's gravity, orbiting a central black hole.

"Your Majesty, Demon King!"

"Your Majesty, Demon King!"

The demon lords began calling out to the being sleeping at the vortex's center. At first, there was no response, and the high and mighty demon lords seemed foolish as they called out into the void.

But soon, a majestic and overwhelming voice responded from the vortex's core. The pull of the vortex rapidly weakened, and the worlds caught in its orbit began flying away. Some lucky worlds were thrown far into the distance, while others collided violently, their destruction unavoidable.
