Roberts Joshua's eyes filled with disdain as he faced the old servant, a look that clearly displeased the man standing before him.
Throughout his years in South City, no one had ever shown such disrespect to the old servant. No one.
"Leave now, and I might spare your life," Roberts said coldly, his voice carrying no emotion.
The old servant laughed loudly. "Never has anyone spoken to me like this!"
In the carriage, I couldn't help but worry. My eyes remained fixed on the scene outside the window, fearing that Roberts might be defeated by the old man. The tension in my body was palpable.
"Oh, don't worry," Mabel laughed beside me. She took some snacks and asked, "Do you want some?"
I forced a smile. "I'm not in the mood for snacks..."
"You always worry about everything," Mabel rolled her eyes, seemingly unconcerned.
I didn't speak further, keeping my eyes fixated on the confrontation unfolding outside.
