Blood drips from the girl's head, covering her left eye. She has her hand on her stomach, and it is possible to see that blood is coming from somewhere in her abdomen.
When I was going to ask myself why that girl was in that situation, I move my eyes to the side and see a pile of stones. Initially, I cannot understand that shape, as it is completely made of piled-up stones.
But now my mind understands what it is!
They are not piled-up stones!
A body entirely made of stones, sitting a little in front of the girl; the rocks that make up its body don't seem to be old, much less worn out. He has large, rigid stone hands whose fingers resemble columns of stone, and they would crush any human being they squeezed.
The stones in his body come together as if they were parts of a human body. The only part of its physical structure that draws attention is its torso, which has a large round rock that connects practically all of its upper and lower limbs.
And finally, a large head similar to a knight's helmet sits on top of all the stones that form the body of this huge monster. It's simply not possible to see its face through the helmet; maybe that's the face of the monster itself!
There's no way I'm going crazy! That is, of course, a Stone Golem!
"Shhh." I put my index finger to my mouth, looking at Reinier.
He doesn't seem to understand what's going on.
I point at the Golem, and he almost immediately understands that these aren't just rocks.
Quietly, I approach the girl, trying not to wake the golem, who, apparently, is sleeping.
Taking silent steps, the girl again opens her eyes, and for the first time, she tries to say something.
"Go away." She practically whispers in our direction. Her voice hardly comes out of her mouth, and clearly she takes a lot of effort to say it.
When the girl finishes saying that, the golem suddenly starts moving.
The rocks rub against each other, and slowly the golem starts to rise.
When I realize he's getting to his feet, I jump back.
I look back at the same moment, and Reinier is already in the distance.
What will we do now?
We can't let the girl die there...
I slowly approach Rei to talk to him as the monster is rearing up.
"Maybe we can't handle this thing." I say seriously to Reinier.
"What do you have in mind?" He asks with a serious expression.
"Let's get the girl and get out of here as soon as possible." When I respond, the golem finally fully stands.
And the knight helmet he wears, which was previously unlit, now has two pink lights in an upside-down triangular shape appear on the bottom of the helmet.
I can't measure how big it is. Probably somewhere between 3 meters (9ft 10in) or 3 meters 50 centimeters tall (11ft 5.8in).
It's scary how big he is! I have to lift my head to catch his eyes. The light from the crystals on the ceiling illuminates him, casting a large shadow in front of him.
When suddenly, mini-stone golems appear, coming out from behind stone blocks, those little buggers were hiding all this time!
The mini-golems move closer to the larger golem, surrounding it. I have no idea how many of these mini golems there are; if I were to guess, I would say there are around 13 or 14 of them.
Quickly, the bigger golem reaches out and grabs a mini golem that was on his right side. He takes it by the head and extends his arm back with the mini-golem in his hand.
It's an attack! He's going to throw the mini golem at us!!
"Watch out, Rei!" The instant I speak, the golem throws towards me. Luckily, I had already foreseen the attack, and, when the mini-golem hits me, I dodge rolling to my right.
I look back to see what the mini golem looked like, and it's all torn to pieces. Something interesting that I can quickly notice is that the mini golem's eyes are the same as the big golem's; the difference is that its head is normal, made of a stone ball.
How strange... It seems that the stones are moving...
Until, the stone parts of the mini golem that was shattered, start to come together quickly and the little monster regenerates completely.
He gets up and goes towards the bigger golem.
As if I would let you!!
When he gets close enough, I kick him in the head with all my strength, and the small golem is sent flying away.
"Reinier, I'll distract him while you get the girl and get out of here. Got it?" I don't even look at Reinier; I just communicate.
"Right!" He responds in a strong tone.
I stare at the golem; I need to know what he's going to try to do!
Reinier runs past me to my right and heads towards the girl.
The golem turns towards Reinier; he is probably preparing an attack!
I can't let him attack!
Before he can do anything to Rei, I get pressurized water on my feet and run towards the golem.
I look at Reinier and at the exact moment, 4 mini-golems pull his pants and make him fall to the ground.
"GET OUT OF ME, YOU IMPS!!!" The mini-golems are pulling his pants down...
Now is not the time to be distracted.
I concentrate and run the pressurized water into my right fist.
The golem turns its torso, which is a large ball of stone, towards Reinier who is getting up while several mini-golems try to pull him down.
The gigantic monster places its right arm behind it while rotating its torso.
I won't let it!
I run and jump towards the monster's head, using all the force of the pressurized water on my feet.
The golem thrusts its fist towards Reinier!
I quickly get close to his head. At the last moment, he turns to face me, and I can see his deep pink eyes, but it's too late for him to look away!
"RAAAAH!!!" I hit him with my fist, releasing all the water pressure built up in my fist!
I fall after the punch. The golem destabilizes and cannot hit!
"Go Reinier!" The blow doesn't seem to have hurt the monster, but it was enough for Rei to reach the girl.
He takes the girl in his arms and runs towards the exit—the cave we came from.
We achieved...
"Arf...Arf..." I can't help but take a deep breath as I feel the tension running through my body.
Reinier passes me and we start walking towards the exit.
When suddenly, a bang behind me occurs, I look back, and the golem is gone.
A shadow abruptly passes over me quickly.
I look up and the golem lands in front of the cave exit, blocking our way!
Tsk!
Rei and I instinctively jumped back.
Without thinking too much about the situation, I make a water ball with my left hand and throw it at the golem, who is blocking the way, while jumping backwards.
The water ball goes towards the big rock that connects all the parts of the monster and hits it!
He... He didn't move...
It's like my water ball is just a drop. He didn't even look at me! Didn't even feel the impact!
"Hey, Kaiser, I hope you have a good plan in mind, because otherwise we're completely fucked..." Rei talks to the girl in his arms, who is unconscious.
"Bad news, I don't have any plans." I say cautiously.
"What do we do then?" Reinier says staring at the monster, who stares back at him.
"Why am I always the one who has to have a plan!?"
"As head of the House, I think you should command the actions of your members." Reinier says shamelessly.
I give a small sigh.
"I'm going to try to attack him with my giant water fist; if that doesn't work, he can prepare our funeral." I say in a wry tone.
"I would like not to die today if possible."
"And me too!" I say.
I need to concentrate as much as possible. I'm going to use all the mana I have!
If that doesn't work, we might die for real!
I don't know why, but I can't help but keep a small smile on my face.
Is it a smile of fear? From stress? Or is it just adrenaline taking over my thoughts?
I don't know though; I'm pretty sure this is way better than hunting those damn Vampire Bats!
I start to wrap my fists in water.
The golem pulls its arm back and clenches its fists.
"Get ready to dodge, Rei!"
The Giant Water Fists are complete.
It's all or nothing!
