Chapter 138 - Chapter 138 Prankster

"Almost half of the population younger generation had played our game, thus fulfilling one of your goals, Master." The maid dutifully reports her finding to her Master. She looks up and saw him orchestrating a boss fight in the virtual world. This had becomes part of his daily routine, he would comes to hear her report while toying with the players.

"Ah, is that so? Then do you think it's wise to finally disable the safeguard?" He asked, his hands busily moving around, making the boss dodged the players assaults like it was nothing. The so-called safeguard is a safety measure he added last seconds so that people won't immediately figure out his plan for the game. If that happen, the government might try their best to stop people from playing the game by any means.

"I'd say it's the best time for it. Even if the government tried to do something upon realizing your true motive, it will be too late by then," Belfast said honestly. As his creation, the maid finds the idea of the government going against her Master as anything but foolish.

Her Master was being rather considerate to even provides them a chance of survival against the incoming apocalypse. That's right, the game was made to train humans in preparation for Trihexa. It might looks like a normal game at first glance, but most bosses have some semblance to certain individuals in reality.

Such as the constant trouble some unlucky players was caught on, it was the fight between Fire Dragon and Light Dragon—two of the strongest races always facing one another. It clearly mirrored the actual rivalry of Red Dragon Emperor and White Dragon Emperor. Rias was one of the unlucky players before, she couldn't even resist before being engulfed by the dragon's breath.

It wasn't just Ddraig and Albion, there are many other sharing such similarities. Like the 72 Demon Kings residing in Demon Realm, or the guardian of a Holy City looks almost identical to a Nine Tails Fox. The latter however makes a certain someone felt exceptionally embarrassed upon finding out about it. Despite her insistent in removing that part of the game, the Virtual God refused to budge even against his significant others.

Only by rewarding him a worthwhile night did he finally relented and changes the settings a little bit. But that's beside the point.

"Then flick on the switch baby, let's see the chaos unfold firsthand," Kousuke muttered playfully, the look on his face were rather wicked for an ex Hero. Had anyone else been here and saw him, they'd think he's a villain plotting to rule the world or something.

"As you wish, Master."

..

"And that's another bandit down, phew~"

[Congratulations! You have leveled up!]

"That makes me a level 9, just 1 more and I can finally get a class."

Motohama wiped the nonexistent sweat off his forehead while looking down at the loot on the ground. Just like every players in the game, he too had accepted a commission to slain bandits and earned quite bountiful experience. Unlike how he was in real life, his character is actually quite dashing and is a man of justice(read boobs). Issei, the bastard who had betrayed the virgin alliance suddenly comes to him and said he had something of a surprise for his friends.

Motohama was confused at first, that was until he gets home and found a strange-looking capsule sitting in the living room. He thought it looks familiar, then he remembered it was the latest tech that the internet had been hyping about. It was called Simulation Dive something, he couldn't quite remembered the name properly since he thought he would never have the money to get it. Yet there it was.

So he spam his friend with countless messages, but Issei just dodged his questions and told him to try using it. It would be a lie to say he wasn't curious, so he ended up opening the hatch and get inside. The manual is quite easy to understand, surprisingly. He thought he would only spend a few minutes, but before he knows it, 2 hours had gone by and he only just finished his character customization. The rest was self explanatory, he went through tutorial, hunt some slimes and then accept his first mission.

For an average high schooler, the feeling of getting stronger was addicting. Motohama truly believes that it wasn't just his character leveling up, but that he himself also feels a lot more stronger. Of course he thought it was just the game making him thinks that, at the end of the day, maybe it was just hallucination. The game was just that immersive to him.

Now that he had defeat the bandits Motohama plan to head to the mission board in the town square to complete the mission but he caught something in the corner of his view. He saw a strange looking bat flying into a cave, so he instinctively followed it, thinking he came across a rare event. The deeper he goes, the more certain he was. 'Hehe, this must be an event no doubt about it, I can proudly flex it to Issei next time we meet.'

But unbeknownst to him, the Master of the cave had already been awakened by the presence of an intruder. It was the sealed Dark Magician who once unleash hell upon the world, ravishing city to crisp with his powerful spell. In short, it was a powerful Boss awaiting deep within the cave.

"Hold on a second..."

Motohama was starting to feels that something wasn't quite right. The interior of the cave remained the same, yet something feels wrong. He furrowed his brows and carefully observe his surrounding. 'Was it just my imagination?' He could no longer see the strange bat, but there was only one path in front of him. Despite his logical mind telling him to go back, Motohama decides to confront whatever was making him uneasy headon.

However, had he known what would happen next, he might have not consider that at all.

Before long, he arrived in front of a giant door. There was a lever switch next to it, but almost no lock on the door. It even comes with a warning written in red that said 'Absolutely do not switch this on! you will regret it!'. But Motohama is no coward, this is video game after all. What worse could happen? With that mindset, he bravely pulled the lever and heard a click. However, nothing happened.

"What? Was that just a prank by the Dev?" He thought out loud. When suddenly, the ground rumbles and a deep laughter came within the closed door.

[GAHAHAHHA! I can't believe there is still Fool out there who would fall for such obvious trap!]

"What the? There is someone behind this door?!"

Motohama was on high alert, he immediately pull his sword out of its sheath in preparation for a fight. But the door remained shut and the voice no longer speaks to him. Just as firmly believes it was a prank, his body suddenly lit up. He panicked and immediately swipe down his hand as the game menu popped up. Then he quickly tap on the exit almost instinctively and disappeared from the cave.

[No use in escaping to reality. Because the curse had already rooted deeply into the soul, gehehehe! I wonder what 'her' next reaction would be? Keahahaha!]

The reason the Dark Magician was sealed in this deep cave was not because people feared his power. No, it was his insane tomfoolery that made every countries hunt him down. One time, he had turned the tyrannical Emperor into a beautiful Empress simply because he thought it would be funny if the misogynistic Empire was led by a woman! That wasn't his only crimes, but his story were better off remained unknown.
