Chapter 137 - Chapter 137 Beacon

"Uh... Am I seeing things or everyone has some kind of transparency colour around them? Hana is orange, and Seele looks a bit like dark bluish or raven."

That was the first thing she said upon regaining conscious. Miko repeatedly rubs her eyes, expecting the strange sight would simply go away yet to no avail. So she had no choice but to turned toward the only male in the room, which was Kousuke. She remembered agreeing to him, then pain hit her, and the rest became history. Once again, that wasn't something that can be said 'little', it hurts very much.

"What you're seeing is your true sight, and what you're seeing on these girls are their unique energy signature that are tied to them from the moment they were born. I already got a name for your Sacred Gear, Divine Perception."

He explained to her as if he already knew everything about her Sacred Gear from the bottom to the top. It was too much information at once, so she skimmed most of it and only focus on the important part, and that is—

"I can read minds?" Miko was dumbfounded, 'isn't that a literal psychic ability?' She couldn't help but internally visualize a certain kdrama she watched a few years back. The protagonist had the same power, and she thought it was cool since he could understand what people were thinking all the time.

"Not exactly, what you're reading is their body language and in turn, allow you to predict what they're about to do and say—"

"...to a certain extent." She finished his words subconsciously. Kousuke nodded his head, he was rather shocked that another Longinus type had appeared, even more it wasn't even one of those recorded in Azazel's notebook. In short, it's a never before seen Longinus. The first of it's kind, or should have until he recalled Gasper's.

Both of them have similar activation, it's their eyes. Her golden pupils had completely transformed into something more... ominous. First off, it was no longer gold, but rainbow and shaped like a black ring at the center.

Each color represent the Sacred Gear's abilities. Red allows her to find opening or weak point that she could take advantage of, while yellow grants her high-speed thought processing—which would benefit her greatly for the coming exams.

"Your sacred gear is quite the versatile support, but can be wield as sharp as sword if utilize properly." Kousuke commented. For a Longinus, it might sounds rather disappointed. It doesn't seem to match with other Longinus type, most of them have at least one insane ability that borderline reality bending, or holds destructive power.

In comparison to that, Divine Perception looks rather tame. Of course this didn't account for her Balance Breaker form. In any case, he also wish to train Miko alongside Valerie, it almost feels like their Sacred Gears are made for each other. With Miko's support, Valerie can efficiently defeat their enemies.

If Rias were to hear about this, she will definitely try everything in her power to pull Miko into her peerage, no doubt about it. But fortunately Valerie comes to him first before things get worse for her friend, by then, it won't be just Rias who learn about Miko. Longinus aside, every peerage always in needs of good support. A great support would excel far more than a strong individual, after all, the Rating Game weren't just about firepower but a group effort to reflect heavily upon their Master social standing in Underworld.

One may think that it shouldn't matter for Rias and Sona since their family are Satans, the people standing at the top of the Underworld. However, it's exactly because of that the two wanted to work hard, to prove the world that they aren't just Satan's little sister, but their very own person and accomplishments.

"But can this do anything to protect myself?" Miko asked, unsure whether it's a good thing that her Sacred Gear is a support type. She had seen firsthand Valerie conjuring a sword out of thin air, if her power is anything like that, then maybe there is hope for her yet.

"For the current you, no. In fact, it only makes you a more tempting bait for other to seek. You're quite literally a beacon to them, like firefly to flame," Kousuke answered honestly. Hearing this, Miko's face paled as if she had becomes ghost.

"Isn't that more dangerous than before?!" Hana said frightfully. To her horror, he nodded with a rare serious expression before relaxing while scratching the back of his head.

"I honestly thought it would be a normal Scared Gear, which at best, would only makes you appears something like a candy to them. But this? You're a literally 5 stars food prepared by the professional chef himself~" He replied before chuckling sheepishly. His words only distraught Miko even more, but what he said next gives her some semblance of hope, if any. "Oh, but don't worry, I have ways to deal with this."

"Basically, I know a certain dhampir with a Sacred Gear that works similar to you, your eyes beings the key," he calmly explained. Valerie nodded and thought, 'he must be talking about Gasper.' "but unlike him, yours appears quite obedient and shouldn't take as much training to fully master it, hopefully."

"Wait wait! What do you mean dhampir?" Hana suddenly interjected just as Kousuke was handing Miko the black blindfold, the two turned toward her. "You mean a half vampire and half human thing I read in novel? You mean that right?!"

"No, this dhampir is ugly and ferocious, they will eat you if they find you rawr!" Kousuke pretentiously said as if to scare off Hana. Being none the wiser, the latter screams, fully believing his words and in turn, the image of a cold dhampir inside her mind shattered like glasses.

"Gasper isn't ugly!" Valerie suddenly said, not before looking away with faint blush on her cheeks. She could feels everyone's gazes on her, especially Kousuke, the smirk on his face clearly showed he was just playing around. "I mean, he is very cute! And kind!"

"I see, my adorable sister is protecting her childhood sweetheart, is it?" He muttered with a playful smile. Hana and Miko immediately connected the dots thanks to his words, realizing that the dhampir mentioned was actually someone close to their friend. "Very admirable."

"I-I'm not! I just... didn't want them to have... wrong impression of him, or something, that's all..." Valerie said, trying her best to appear normal but her voice gradually turns low to that of a whisper as she reached the end. She feels like digging a hole to hide inside when she heard her friends chuckling to themselves.
