Grabbing her stuff she went to her car feeling her stomach drop the moment she left the parking lot she felt uneasy. She kept looking everywhere feeling something out of place. Once she pulled up to her home she made sure to park a few feet away from the home. She could see tire tracks going behind the house wondering who could be since no one ever parks in the front of the house. She got her taser ready under her long sleeve just in case. Hearing a heavy sound behind and seeing nothing she lifted her arm up to her face and still felt the force against her stomach like a foot just went straight through her. Feeling the wind knocked out of her Did nothing to stop the other feeling of a foot stepping on her the second she hit the ground. 'Well there's 2 for sure.' She grunted to herself.
Moving up to her feet she took the taser and struck it randomly based on smell. Ever since she got mated her senses actually got stronger. She managed to strike 5 of them and felt blessed that the taser malfunctioned their stealth mode so she could at least see half of them. "Well, well, well you boys definitely came to play." She said playfully with a smile. With a taser in one hand and a small blade in another. Looking at all the swords and daggers in their hands. "Remember we need it alive. It doesn't have mean it can't be damaged." She heard in D'marlian from one who is still stealth mode. "Awe it seems some of you are still too shy to show your cowardly faces. Do you really think with just this few you could really take me? Ohhh aren't you cute?!" She said as two of them angrily lunged forward trying to get her for her to instantly slice his throat in one swift move he was on the ground bleeding holding it. The gurgling as he coughed up his blood suffocated and died.
The second one didn't notice when he went by and missed she cut deeply into his higher forearms he no longer could lift his weapons. "You never took biology but you now have ten seconds to die." Ana smiled to him. Filled with anger he took a step to her as his eye rolled back and he kept bleeding out form the deep wounds. The others looked scared for a moment and rushed her. One lifted his arm and that's when they all heard the shot fired the bullet came straight out of the D'marlians head as he feel where he stood. "Jaxon?!" "Ana move." He said with authority as he shot another one 2 in the head one in the heart just like she showed him years ago. She was fist fighting one and winning. "Why are you so skilled in combat with them?" Jaxon asked as he was trying to box a couple more he couldn't see. "Well my unit fought a lot of "special beings" you kind of just get used to it." She said as she cut the hamstrings of the one and let him bleed out on the floor. One was now lifting her into the air by her neck and one hand Jaxon on the ground he couldn't reach his gun or the knives. "ANA!"
They heard a charge to the gun as Ana was still kicking and trying to reach him with the taser. When another sonic gun sound came and Ana felt the release of the arm of the eight foot D'marlian she fell but was caught by something she couldn't see. The gun noise didn't stop there blood got splattered all around and on Jaxon. Jaxon felt someone lift him up. Until they all felt a hit to the face and back. One swift growl spread through everyone in a force movement with a wave spreading through like a gust of wind all the way around them, the trees every piece of life and land around them. That' when they all noticed the stealth mode to the enemy was now gone. The stunned look on the last four faces said more then enough. They never saw this coming. "You?" Jaxon whispered to both Echo and Phoenix as Nix still had ahold of Ana safely next to him now with one arm around her and the wrath of a God of war on his face. His eyes blacker then night without the moon. Striking fear into all of them even Echo a little bit.
"It's him." "Why would he be here?" "He can't take her." The enemy was arguing and speaking loudly in D'marlian. "I see you woke this morning and choose to die?" Nix told them in a voice that echoed across the area with authority. "We stand on the side of right. Blood must be paid for our people. She is the chosen one to be punished by the people for the sins her people committed to your own. You look like a traitor standing by her. Defending her. You don't care about your own people?!" The taller one roared to him. "The second you laid your filthy paws on MY MATE YOU WENT AGAINST YOUR OWN PEOPLE! She alone is the only one who can save our species by still surviving through offspring. HOW DO YOU PLAN TO HAVE A PLANT THAT CAN NEVER REPRODUCE? SHE IS THE ONLY WAY! AND I'LL BE DAMNED IF I LET YOU EVEN BREATHE THE SAME AIR AS HER!" Phoenix roared back to him in their native tongue.
Within seconds Nix hand shot something from his wrist straight through the middle of the tall D'marlian who called him a traitor throat and made it split so his head rolled off. Jaxon was just watching in shock. He quickly came and took Analeigh by the arm. "No, I need to help him." She tried to wiggle free. "ANA STOP! Look at him he looks like a pist off alien on a mission just stand back for now. Let's see what he's trying to do he got a friend right there. He pointed to Echo who already snapped the neck to one of the last three. She could feel the anger flowing through him. It was so intense she almost couldn't move or breathe. He grabbed on of the intruders by the neck as he came running up Nix.
Taking him by the neck he lifted him in the air tugged on his lower body ripping his head clear off throwing the head and using the body to slam the last intruder on the ground. Echo eyes widen in pride as he walked over to his friend. Nix reached down while his foot was holding his opponent on the ground and jammed his whole fist into his chest and pulling out his heart. Nix was still blinded in an anger haze. Echo stepped back for a second. He knew this was something he couldn't help with. This was an angry mated high ranked alpha male seeing someone and feeling through the mate bond someone harming his female. There was no saving any of these traitorous males. Nix eyes still dark black breathing still a little heavy. "Calm down old friend you're going to scare the female. She is feeling everything you are now Phoenix. Think of her she doesn't have clue how to reel in on the extra emotions you are sending her now. You need to calm down for her." Echo was using a gentle quiet voice to try to ease him to calm down.
Looking back at her his wrath just got stronger as Jaxon had ahold of her as they were both staring at him he had ahold of Ana waist to keep her from getting in his way. "Nix, calm down he was keeping me from helping you." She told him in his native tongue. Turning his head and taking a deep breath looking away he put his dagger away behind his back next to his sword no one would ever notice was there. He run all the way here full force on adrenaline with all the weapons he could carry without making to much noise. Turning back to see Jaxon confused face looking at Analeigh. "Let. Her. Go." Nix gritted through his teeth. "Why? How do I know you won't hurt her." Jaxon asked him loudly. "I AM HERE FOR HER! Nothing will harm her as long as I have breath in my body. AND NO ONE will keep her from me." Nix told him back in warning. "Analiegh, what's going on? Why does he want you?" Jaxon whispered to him. "She is my responsibility NOW! LET! HER! GO!" Nix warned the last time and Ana knew it. She finally shrugged him off.
"It's alright big guy just calm down. I'm fine. See." She told him as she turned around she was dirty and bruised with some small cuts that mad him instantly mad he let out a loud growl and grunt. "Don't worry about the little stuff. They didn't stand a chance look it took a whole crew to come after me and they still went down faster then a taco bell order." She joked. "Analeigh. Are you going to explain this to me or what?!" Jaxon asked in an angry tone that made Nix start to lunge at him with Ana pulling his arm back. "Just here hold this and calm down." She told him giving him her hand. "Ok, everyone inside remember to use your inside voice and remember this is my MOTHERs home. You both mind your manners and you" She pointed to Echo. "Watch your mouth." Echo with a smile and his hands up as they all entered.
"Let's start first with why do you speak their language? Jaxon asked arms crossed leaning against one counter as Nix stood the other side the same way and Echo sitting on the kitchen chair shaking a cup for something to drink as she took the sweet tea out and poured a cup for everyone and put it on the table in front of them. "Well do you want me to answer that or start at the beginning?" She asked not looking up to him until after she finished her sip. "There's so many places I wanna start Lee. Like why do you know him well enough to be this comfortable and speak their language? Yes I know they already know this place but they shouldn't know you! Why we were attacked just now? Did you really fall that one time down the hill or did you get attacked by one of them? How could you bring them here? Bring them to her YOU PROMISED EMMIE!" Jaxon all but yelled at Phoenix.
"They're here for HER! I'M KEEPING MY PROMISE!" Nix roared back to him standing straight now as Jaxon was. "How do you know what he promised my mother?" Ana asked calmly. "What?!" Jaxon asked her looking at her confused. "How. Do. You. Know. What. He. Promised. My. Mother? How do you even know him? You sound like you two go way back and you just told me the other day you had no more secrets from me so were you lying to me again?" Ana asked him calmly putting her hand under her chin looking at him confused. Echo mimicked her happily awaiting what answer he could possibly say.
"You already know I knew the D'marlians. You already know I knew the next commander and that is him." Jaxon pointed. "I know what he promised your mother she made us all promise to look out for you and to keep you away from you father the best we could. Ana you have no idea just how crazy he got at the end there." Jaxon told her running his hands in his hair. "That is true." Echo agreed taking another drink looking at Ana shaking his head in agreement. "I didn't keep nothing else from you. BUT CLEARLY YOU"VE BEEN DOING NOTHING BUT KEEPING THINGS FROM ME AND YOU HAVE THE GULL TO QUESTION ME ABOUT MY SECRETS HOW ABOUT YOURS ANA? HUH WHAT THE HELL ELSE ARE KEEPING FROM ME. I've been killing myself in guilt and you're the one holding out?" Jaxon snapped at her.
"First off lower your tone when you talking to me because I won't have it in my home." She said to him with authority and pushing Nix back who was ready to climb the table out of the way and tackle Jaxon. "Second your guilt is your own problem not mine. That's you wrestling from the demons of your past and yes you should be in guilt because you should have told me all of everything you hid from me. Third I only have my secrets right now from you Jaxon because the truth is you've done nothing to have or gain my trust. I can't trust why should I have told you anything when you constantly let me down since I've gotten back. We have nothing but proof of that. Proof of my effort to become better for you and proof of you doing nothing to deserve it. I can't, I won't and I simply don't trust you Jaxon that's it. You've lost all my faith in you and I have no idea how you will ever get any of it no matter how small it is back. You know why." She told him like she was telling him the weather.
"Now what is it you like to know?" She asked him again. "You said they were after her. Why her? Why now? How long have they been here? Who are they?" He was looking right at Phoenix. "She did what no on else could she finally mad ethe cure Emerie spent her last life work trying to make. The are Darious men. You know him." "The bad D'marlian and his following? They're still alive?" Jaxon was confused. "Small as they are yup still kicking. They want her to go back to the planet and bleed her out and torture her as payment for the blood her father spilt." "Why not just kill her why do they need a big show?" Jaxon asked him confused. "Her blood is part of the cure. To help our planet species to reproduce." Nix told him flatly.
"SO what do you plan to just take her with you to bleed her out too? How is she supposed to make that many cures for your planet from here." Jaxon asked him as he was met with a growl that scared him a bit. "No one is going to bleed me out. I volunteered my blood as I can give so much at a time and it goes really further than any of us really every thought it could. I mean seriously just like 3-5 drops is perfect for the higher ups and 3 is still high for the lower part of their species it really goes long way I mean I could a ton of people done just by a paper cut." She told them proudly. "Calm down big guy I'm fine." She told him rubbing his arm. "What is this between you guys? How do you even know she mad ethe cure?" Jaxon asked him getting mad.
"Well he was always with me. Remember you wanted to move him and I told you he was my friend. Well it was close to then I noticed he was real. He has been helping me every step of the way and like you he has withheld information from me and has been punished the same. Yes I lied about falling off the hill. I did get in a fight and won mind you against a D'marlian and that's when he gifted me the same gift aunt Paige, mom and some others got. I can now speak their language. He made a promise to mom and aunt Paige he will keep me safe and he has kept up to his word. He has helped me save his species. Now they just want to go home in peace and live in peace knowing there will be a future generation no one thought would happen. It's a miracle it's a beautiful thing." She said proudly.
"It's an incredible thing you did. I know your mom is smiling down on you being proud. But how exactly can you help them if your blood is the main ingredient are you? Are you planning to go with them?" He asked her like it was the most ridiculous thing he ever heard. Looking at him there was a silence. Nix and Jaxon both staring at her both scared of her answer. "I mean this from the bottom of my heart Jaxon I love you as my friend and that's it. I have love for you but it's not the love you want, need or even deserve. You deserve so much better. I don't ever see us being able to be together after both our pasts. I can't see us working around it and being happy. I don't want to be here. I plan to go back with them and help them through their pandemic." She told him. "More than that I want to go." She added.
"You're leaving me? You were just going to leave me? How long do you plan to be gone? I mean Analeigh we can work this out. Look we both need therapy and we can even do couples counseling together. I can wait or go with you there to help. We don't have to be apart. Look I know I have a miles to go with you but we can work through this baby. I can make peace with you leaving or even go with you until your done with your work there are ways we can get past this we just got to work on it." Jaxon said grabbing her hands tears in his eyes heart pouring out. "I wouldn't man." Echo laughed out softly warning him to let go of her hands. She could feel the anger and jealousy flowing off Nix. Taking her hands back. "I don't want to work it out anymore Jax." Taking a heavy sigh.
"I don't want to be here. I never wanted to come here and you know that. I have an opportunity to help a whole planet this is so much bigger than me this is everything my mother even died for. I can't just pass this up and I won't. Ever since I walked through those facility doors my whole life has been planned by everyone else. On everyone's theories, plans and their own hopes and wants. No one ever took into consideration of what I truly want and not one person even had the heart to ask. You yourself even admitted you knew I never wanted to be her yet you still help pulled back." Taking a deep breath before she continued.
"My own father doesn't care about my true wants and happiness. Considering he used me as a bargaining chip to kill my own mother and still everyone is ok with that it's sickening no one's moral compass doesn't just spin around at that thought alone. I want to say I forgive you. But its hard when you admitted you brought me here after shooting that thing that took my mother from me. You told me you made that choice because you wanted me did you even stop to wonder what I wanted what it would cost me? You knew how unhinged that man was and you still did it. That's not love Jaxon. Lying to me the whole time because you were scared I'd walk away isn't love. Wanting to wait until we had a bunch of kids so I wouldn't want to leave you isn't love. Almost nothing about us was done out of love or consideration of my wants or needs and you know it." She told him in the most heart breaking voice that pulled onto all their hearts.
"It's so unfair Jaxon. That's why I have kept all this from you. You weren't honest or open with me. Don't be shocked I wasn't with you. You gave me no chance to trust you. Don't you think you being mad is a bit hypocritical? Wasit right no probably not. But how could I tell you a secret that's honestly not even mine to begin with when you can't even give me a reason to have any faith in you." She asked him like it was a question raising her hands up. "Do you really have no faith in us at all. After everything we've been through together all these years?" He asked her tears rolling off his face with a blank expression.
"Don't you mean after everything you put me through? We wouldn't have gone though hard times had you been open and honest to begin with. You knew we was just friends in school. You were the one who wanted more than I was willing to give. You used the fact that since I already knew you and who you were against being pawned off by some other dude in high ranking to basically be a baby machine for that I didn't know and still run dads company. You don't even realize you play dirty. No matter how true it was it was still a low ball move to make. The worse part is lied you are so not the same person I knew then as you are now and I don't know how you don't even see it. Or is it the guilt just made him wash away so you don't have to see it?" She told him flatly.
"Despite what you think now it's already too late it's already set in stone. You know as well as I do that your dad runs the world pretty much as it sits right there in the palm of his crazy ass palm. You agreed Analeigh there's no going back now. I'm your future and we will just have to work this out and get past this and I know we are now strong enough to do it." Jaxon told her flatly. "YOU"RE STILL NOT GETTING JAX! I said no. My father runs this world and you know what it's just not a world I want to live in anymore because I feel like I am dying here. I'm not living Jaxon and you know it. SO I don't think I should be here anymore." She told him flatly. "You can go help them and came back I can cover for you Ana your dad will never have to know where you went or who you helped. No one will ever have to know Quinn and I can protect you from your dad." Jaxon told her in a protective voice.
"Jaxon listen to me clearly. I don't want this. I can keep you as a friend after some time apart. But I don't want this and if you love me like you think you do. You would be able to let me go. I am not going to let my father run my life anymore. I don't care what he or you or anyone else has to say about it. I would rather slit my own throat or wrist then to play by all of your guys games. I will no longer care about anyone else's wants or needs for my life. This is my life I have to live with the choices being made in it and from now on they will only be mine. Everything from here on out will happen for me if it's my choice and now there's nothing you can do to change that. Give me some time and I will call off the engagement." She told him flatly.
"Don't do this. Don't do this to us. We can have something so beautiful Analeigh. Just give it one more chance. Your dad won't take this well I don't know what he'll do. I can't let him take you Ana." Jaxon was trying to reach out for. Nix pulled her to him. "Man what is your problem. Look I know you promised to take care of her but you are riding the line and crossing boundaries here man. You need to step back this doesn't concern you." Jaxon told him. "Everything about her concerns me!" Nix all but yelled back. "WHY?! Jaxon asked stepping closer to them. "Because she's MY MATE!" Nix snapped at him. "Oh shit. It's out there now." Echo said in a chuckle. "Your what?" Jaxon choked out looking between both of them. Showing him his chest with his flaming Phoenix and Analeighs name. "MY. MATE!"
