'Access denied. Now stop trying dumbass'
Chimzey sucked his teeth as he read the message on the screen of Lusungu's laptop.
After returning to the hotel and having their dinner he quickly asked Lusungu to borrow his laptop so that he could see what was inside the Flash Drive. Leading to his current predicament.
"Dude seriously." I sighed as he began going through various options to try to open the drive.
From opening the properties to see just what he was dealing with but saw it really was written 'Unknown' on the file system, 0 bytes on used space, 0 bytes on free space, and 0 capacity. The disk management wasn't much help either as all he got was partition: Unknown, Status: Locked, Health Encrypted Volume.
"Why can't things ever be simple?" I took out the Flash disk and just inspected it just a little bit. Just what was in here to make my dad go so far as to put such a tight hardware look on it. But it really just made me more curious.
I didn't bother going further in trying to hack it with the PC or quirk, as from what little stories I heard about my dad I don't know what sort of more crazy safe guards he might have put in it and I didn't want to screw up Lusungu's PC.
Too bad my parents house was destroyed according to Aunt Minerva but maybe Uncle J can help out or perhaps Anasi could have something, if he kept a flash he must have something else from my dad.
Right?
Checking the time I let out a sigh I shut off the PC and returned it to Lusungu's suitcase.
"Well I should go before Nova starts spamming my phone."
My hair was loose so after tying it I exited the boys room and saw Lusungu, Daniella and Vincent all wearing casual wear and just chilling in the room. Daniella was just on her phone, Lusungu was tinkering with his drone and Vincent… Meh, who really cares.
I walked towards Lusungu, giving him fist bump in greeting. "Hey Lusungu I left back in your suitcase and thanks for letting me borrow it."
He smiled and nodded. "Sure no prob. So what was in the Flash dude?"
"Don't know it's encrypted."
"Why didn't you just hack or just use your quirk to bypass it? I've seen you do that before."
"I would but the flash is hardware locked and if I try to hack or force myself in it might lead to your laptop getting damaged because there might be other drastic safe guards on it."
"So what are you going to do now?"
"I got some ideas. But I have to wait till I get home first."
"Can I help too?"
I chuckled at his puppy dog eyes and playfully placed my hand on face "Sorry little dude but this is personal. But I'll let you know if I need help."
"What the hell are they talking about?" Vincent whispered to Daniella.
She just shrugged. "I really don't know it's computer talk Vin. But I think they want to hack into something?"
Suwi then stepped out of the girls room with her backpack strapped. "Oh finally you're done. So what was in the flash Chicky?"
"I don't know. It has a really tight lock on it."
"There must be a lot of weird, dirty and embarrassing stuff in it than~."
"You don't get judge on this kind of thing, I've seen your sims files."
"HEY!" Her face turned red and cleared her throat. "W-Whatever come on let's just go. We're going to be late."
"Huh? Late for what?" I asked them.
Danielle began to explain. "Oh right I forgot you weren't there. We're going out to meet some performers for the festival so Suwi can flex her sewing skills."
"Wait hold up Suwi's going to be sewing." I looked at them in horror.
"Hey what's with that face you know I'm amazing at this sort of stuff." She brought out her phone showing off some pictures of her designs.
"Chill Suwi, we already know you're great… Wait hold up, what's this one?" A picture caught Danielle's full attention.
"Oh that's me and Chicky in a…"
"Wait, that cute girl is actually Chimzey!" Vincent began laughing.
"Dude why are you in a dress." Lusungu was holding back a laugh.
In the picture I was wearing a bright yellow dress with the top folded like sunflower petals, sparkling beads stitched across the chest, faint sun and cloud patterns. I was wearing some makeup and my hair was braided and tied back with a tiara on it.
Suwi was wearing a long blue jacket with gold trimming, underneath a white shirt and violet cravat, dark pants, and a short cape with embroidered stars . Her hair was slick back with a crown on it.
"Come on guys, I think he pulled it off." Daniella was chuckling.
"Why do you have those ones on stand by?" I rubbed my eyes in embarrassment. I didn't even want to be in those stupid plays.
"Pay back for that sim's comment." She said cheekily giggled and blew a raspberry. "Besides why are you complaining even though we were the bad guys everybody loved us more than the main couple."
"Nah the real question is why did you agree to wear it. Do you like wearing dresses or something?" Question Vincent but he was more focused on that pic than the other two.
"My guy you're staring a bit too hard at that pic. You crushing me and Suwi or something. Maybe you have the explaining to do man."
He was flabbergasted "What no I'm not… Ayo wait!"
I relaxed on the chair. "Hey I don't blame you know what they say it takes a real man to be the best girl. So how did you guys convince them to go there?" I quickly changed the subject.
"Oh that easy Mrs. Dutch agreed as long as we post some stuff of us helping out as it will be great for our rep?" Suwi answered.
"And what's this performance about?"
Daniella tapped her fin ears "Now that you mention it we don't know. Guess we'll find out when we get there."
"Hey speaking of hero stuff, what's your actual team name since you're marketed as a single team on social media. Do you just go by the Pillars or…?"
"Well that was out of nowhere." She commented.
"Well you guys have been doing this 'hero' project thing for three years now and the only thing you've really done besides quirk training was some PR management stuff. Don't. Heck I thought you would have hero names by now. So what's going on?" My statement caused all of them to be quite and look at each other.
"Well while you guys figure all this out I'll see you guys later." I got up and made the hoover-board pad to my hand turning to Lusungu. "Can I borrow this?"
He nodded. "Okay but ah where are you going?"
"Got a date." They all looked at me in surprise making me chuckle but noticed Suwi's eyes darkened. "Just kidding. I'm just going to meet up with my friends."
Suwi raised an eyebrow and placed her hands on her hips. "Seriously again. You've been hanging out with your friends all day. What we're not cool enough for you now?"
"What are you talking about? I was with you guys especially you the whole afternoon plus this hero stuff is you guys thing. Plus I don't want to be near you when you're sewing and be your live action doll again." I walked to the window.
"See yeah later."
I jumped out of the window activating the hoover-board flying off.
