Eventually, the children finished a portion of their homework and finally noticed that someone had entered. The two kids brightened at the sight of her and immediately shot up from their seats, running to her.
Her youngest, Koo, even raised his arms like a toddler, and she found it so adorable.
Koo had just been diagnosed with an intellectual disability at this point, with them telling her he'd probably keep acting like a 7-year-old even if he was well into his 30s. She didn't really care, she'd just treat him like her baby forever.
Of course, Jane loved her children equally, and their lovely appearance made all the tiredness from work go away.
"Mum! Mum!" Koo yelled, running to embrace her. "Welcome home! Welcome home!"
George smiled as he approached and held her hand, leading her back to the dining table. He carefully put aside their combined study materials and prepared the plates and utensils.
