After they had flown for a while, the landscape ahead finally began to change.
The bare, smooth rock gave way to a vast canopy of green at the edge of their vision. Dense forest stretched across the land in both directions.
The moment Seraphina spotted it, she sped up again.
She had held back the entire flight. No one could blame her for getting excited.
As they drew closer, the others spotted a Castle in the distance. Tall walls enclosed the entire city, blocking any view of what lay inside. Only the tops of several buildings rose above them.
Ethan studied it for a moment, then pointed to the forest below.
"Seraphina, land in the forest first. Then we'll—"
Before he could finish, Seraphina was already above the trees.
Her enormous dragon body rapidly returned to human form, and she dropped straight toward the ground without hesitation.
With their ride suddenly gone, everyone else had to spread their wings and follow her down.
