The Avengers went to Loki and put on their "bad guy faces." The God managed to sit up and speak to Tony. — Hey, if you don't mind? — He breathed — Now I want that drink.
— Well, put him up, gentlemen, we can pose heroically later... by the way, you can clean up if you want.
— Too late, I already took the photo, and they came out quite "heroic,"— I said, making quotation marks
— Where did you get a camera?
— You'd be surprised at all the photos I have... and videos
— I'm curious — Natasha said, — Can I see them?
— Nope, well, I'll show you the last one. — I smiled at him and showed it to her — The others will be a secret for now.
— In a way... I expected it from you, Eli — Clint said, while Tony poured himself something.
— Excellent, I want a drink too. — I said happily
— What? Milk? — The owner of the tower started to laugh — I don't think I have.
— Who wants the magic wand? — Natasha asked. I started laughing. If we were in the movie where they had time travel, Ant-Man would be talking about "America's Ass."
— STRIKE team is coming for him — I grimaced when I heard the name, and they arrived.
— We'll take care of him. — Yes, of course.
— Please — Romanoff walked towards Barton — Be careful with that thing
— Yes, you don't want me to erase their minds. — Clint speaking — It's not funny.
— Why can everyone take it except me? — I asked, looking at the agents.
— Because your legal age is 13 — Tony said
— I don't think that would stop some of you from doing it, would it? — I sighed — They were all my age, they should be considered... Although they may have already forgotten — I looked at everyone — it was so many years ago, and they're all so old... When are they going to retire?
— How funny, — Said the captain — I'll go down to coordinate search and rescue.
— "I'll go down to coordinate search and rescue," — Said Loki, transforming into Steve — Let's see, seriously, how can you stand it?
— I want to learn how to do that. — I let go
— Look, Thor, it's like a pet. Why don't we take it and teach it some tricks?— He said, turning to me.
— I'm angry... but I still want to know how to do it. — I said as the God of thunder covered his brother's face.
— Be quiet — He said, walking to the elevator
— Look who's the pet now, they put a muzzle on you — I made fun of Loki.
Everyone got on the elevator except me and Hulk. Tony told him he had to take the stairs, and after an "I hate stairs," they left.
— Hey, strongman. — I spoke to him — I hate stairs too, let's use a shortcut... but don't tell anyone, not even Banner. Deal? — He looked at my face
— Deal. — That was the only thing he said
— Well, I don't have much energy left, but one less portal, one more... it won't make a difference. It's a good thing I sat and waited for them to arrive. — I winked at the green guy, and we went through a doorway leading us to the top of the stairs. — It's a secret, — I said, holding my hand out in front of him. I only received a nod.
If I thought about it, with what the Ancient One had told me, it didn't matter if I changed those little bits... because, in the other timeline, she didn't exist, which meant Hulk had to walk down the stairs. Little details.
We waited with my new friend. Because yes, he's new, Banner doesn't count. Until the others arrived, asking, — How did they get here first? — I was downplaying it, and Hulk was telling them they were "too weak" to have gotten here first. After what he said, I just nodded at what he'd decided to say.
I sent a text to my acquaintances, "How are you?" To everyone... Except for Strange, his message said, "How was the surgery?" She received many messages back, which she responded to slowly. When she saw they were looking at her, she just put her phone away and called them.
— So, are we going for a shawarma? I'm sure they have a juice or drink there that I can have. — I said, rolling my eyes — They owe me.
— Right, shawarma... let's go eat, gentlemen.
— Will that be open? — Thor asked
— It depends. Mr. Billionaire can get the place opened even if it's all destroyed and a war just raged on it... It doesn't make any sense. It's not like going back to Asgard and having a feast. It's completely different.
— We need to talk about how Lady Elizabeth knows all this.
— Okay, can I try on your cape?
— What?
— Nothing, Thor, nothing... — I sighed and spoke softly. — Loki's is better anyway.
Before we left, I asked for clothes for the big guy, who wouldn't be that big soon. It was incredibly difficult trying to calm him down with magic. Was it due to exhaustion? It was the most likely outcome.
Once we were inside, Tony managed to get us served. "The power of money" and saving their lives... But more so the former. We started eating after a few minutes, but while an employee was sweeping, another who was carrying my juice spilled it on me.
— Excellent, — Everyone started laughing at me. I took off the jacket I was wearing, but I didn't notice that my shirt had a torn shoulder blade, and something was noticeable that they shouldn't have seen.
— Lady Elizabeth, I don't think it was cleaned properly... There are too many colors there.
— What? "Mierda," — I said in Spanish
— Miss Elizabeth, how long have you had a tattoo? — Tony said, making a serious voice that came out completely the opposite.
— Good — Natasha approached and saw the tattoo — I think Fury will kill you, but it's very nice.
— What is it? — Clint asked
— A swallow, with three flowers — I said reluctantly
— What does it mean? — Rogers asked, more out of courtesy than anything. I don't think he was too keen on the idea of a tattoo.
— Pff— Snort — Good. In ancient Egypt, swallows were believed to guard the souls of the deceased. It can also mean love, loyalty, and fidelity. The three flowers have a date... — Take a breath. — All flowers are different, because they are different people. The date on the petals is the day of death. — Look away. — My parents and my grandmother. They are the flowers. The swallow is the one who guides them and protects their souls, which are no longer here. End of story.
No one at the table spoke after what the youngest woman told them. They fell into a rather awkward silence. Each one thought about how that could have meant so much to her, and what she would say if they had a similar one. What dates would they put on it? Could they really have something as meaningful as the young woman's? They didn't know. And they would have remained silent if Banner hadn't spoken.
— Hey, well, Elizabeth, what do you think of our team? — He changed the subject
— You are awful... but you can improve calmly. — She said, smiling — if you excuse me, I'll go change, I look worse than you... And that's saying something.
— Do we look bad? — Asked the captain
— You look tired and desperately need to sleep. Plus, you look like you want to get in the shower and not come out for an hour. I'll go. See you tomorrow... if Fury doesn't kill me.
— I think Elizabeth, he is already thinking about it. — The girl jumped in surprise when she saw Hill in front of her — A jet is waiting for you one block away. We're leaving now
— Yes, ma'am. — I said exhausted while hearing an "uhh" from Tony's mouth
I arrived at a SHIELD base, where I would clean up and prepare for my "talk" with my father. It would be the punishment of the year, horrible... maybe he'd kill me with the piercing gaze of his one eye. This is the end of poor Elizabeth Charlotte.
.
The next day, the jet was taking her to the Helicarrier. It arrived, and everyone who wasn't watching the news about the battle was staring at her. It seemed everyone wanted to know "how the director of the organization would punish his daughter." She grimaced as she passed everyone. Apparently, her "father" was busy at the moment.
She had just enough time to say goodbye to the entire team. She saw Thor and Loki positioning themselves to leave, and how the others looked at her. She wondered what Natasha was saying to Clint. What was making the archer laugh so much? She didn't believe it was really what was portrayed in the memes: "This guy is a crazy guy." "Did you get it, LOKI—LLO?" It wasn't that. But she started laughing because of what she thought.
— Goodbye, Thor — I said goodbye to the God — Goodbye, pet — I showed my tongue to Loki, causing many to start laughing.
— Elizabeth, what are you doing here? — Banner said as everyone finished their goodbyes
— Escape my punishment, Bruce... — He looked at me with a worried face, and I spoke out loud before everyone went their separate ways — Gentlemen and miss, it was a pleasure meeting you. If you don't see me again, it's because Nick killed me or has me in a high-security SHIELD cell so I don't get into trouble anymore. Goodbye Avengers, Goodbye God of Mischief, Goodbye Selvig and — I looked at the sky — Goodbye sunlight... I won't miss you as much as you miss me. — After finishing my speech, I ran behind a tree and returned to the helicarrier.
— Why did she go behind a tree? — Stark asked.
— We will never really know what Elizabeth does. — Banner replied
— Yes, it's like magic — Clint supported him, looking at his friend — What's wrong, Natasha?
— Just... maybe it's magic — She looks at Barton, smiling
— Magic? — Thor had never thought about that. How could he not have thought about it if his mother and brother were witches? — Maybe I'm an idiot — He looked at Loki, who seemed quite amused and internally supported the fact that he was an idiot — Let's just go
🛫
Upon arriving, I waited for my punishment, like a good soldier. Nick began speaking to the council, who were demanding the whereabouts of "the heroes," the Tesseract owner, and Loki. "They only seek power," He thought as he looked at them.
Following Fury's words to the council, the screens went dark, and he left. I followed him with my head down as we headed to the control panel, so to speak. I stood a little far back as Maria spoke to my father. I heard the agent walk across the bridge, "Because we'll need you," and I knew this was where my end would begin.
In the film, there would likely be an image of Tony and Pepper "creating" the new "Avengers Tower," and the music would play. The cute "A" would be visible, and the credits would roll... followed by the final scene. The other one tells Thanos that the plan on Earth had failed, and a smiling Titan at the end... with a much more striking color than the one he had in "Infinity War."
But that wouldn't happen now. Now she would be punished. At first, she wasn't so afraid. Why would Fury be angry if she helped save the world? But the look on everyone's face, the piercing stares, and the "good lucks," had gotten on her nerves. Nick turned around and looked at her.
— So... What were you doing involved in a battle against aliens?
— Save the world? — I answered with hesitation and in a very low tone
— Not only did you get involved in a war, but you disobeyed my orders, hid Professor Banner from me for months, and made "house calls" to every member of the Avengers Initiative. You operated on an agent without my permission. — I felt his gaze more penetrating. — You entered the room where we had Loki locked up, and you spoke to him for minutes without authorization. — "I'm grateful for deleting the last thing I said and passing it off as a mistake; maybe I should have deleted everything." — You changed the tape that Rogers woke up with to one from a year in which he was there. And not only that, I find out that in addition to all your faults, you have a tattoo. — "Is that really important right now?"
— Well... I saved many lives — I gave him a nervous smile.
— Elizabeth Charlotte Williams Jones — Have you ever felt that fear when someone says your full name? Well, now imagine it, Nick Fury version.
She was completely dead, if she made it out of this alive. She'd have nightmares for years about this moment. She'd already prayed to every God in existence, Norse, Greek, Egyptian, Angelic... everyone, but it seemed she wasn't going to make it. Or so she thought, until she saw something strange on the Helicarrier.
— Sir... We have a — "A 3312," I said in my mind. — Thor?
— Thor? — I said doubtfully — What's he doing here? — I looked at Fury — What if Loki has already escaped? You must go talk to him, let him in — It was obvious that it hadn't happened, I knew it perfectly well, but I wanted to delay the punishment as long as I could. Nick looked at me doubtfully, and the God of Thunder entered. I would have died outside with the air and all that... Maybe it was better than what was coming.
— Lady Elizabeth — Greeted Thor — I came to...
— TO... — I said doubtfully. — Did you forget your toothbrush? — I started laughing. — You should go quickly... Having the Tesseract here sounds like a bad idea.
— Especially with the council aware of everything — Nick spoke.
— Yeah, well... I came for something quick, and I'll be leaving. — Thor looked like he was having an internal fight. He sighed heavily — I'll take Lady Elizabeth.
— What?!!! — I screamed
— What are you talking about? — Fury said
— Allfather wants to talk to her. As soon as I arrived, I had to come back.
— Oh — Said
Well, Elizabeth thinks, take a punishment from her father or explain everything to Allfather. Which is easier? Nothing. She looked at Nick, scared of what was coming, so she quickly decided... she was going to escape.
— Well, Father, you can't deny a God... you told the council yourself. — I looked at him — Goodbye, Thor, let's run before he realizes.
— What? — The Asgardian told me
— Run
— Elizabeth, what are you doing? — Flee, of course — Don't take another step.
— Okay... Sorry, I'll hear from you later. It's important to answer the call of a God. You're my father, but he's the Allfather, and he's above you. — I said quickly and took Thor — Turn that on quickly, Goldilocks, I don't want to die, and I guess you don't either.
— Clear — He passed me the other part of what held the cube, just as he had done with Loki.
— Does it hurt? Dizziness? You know what, it doesn't matter, we just have to escape. — I saw how Fury was already in front of us. — Nick, I hate TAHITI with all my being, but if you think it's necessary... don't let him suffer. — I sighed. — Tell everyone I went to serve as a doctor in the war and that I'll be unable to communicate for I don't know how long. Take care of yourself and continue taking care of Earth. — I turned my part over and we left.
When I arrived, I saw Heimdall and Loki, still in handcuffs and muzzles, looking out over the city. We weren't on the bridge because it hadn't been repaired yet. We were, like... in the center of Asgard.
I turned my gaze back to the Asgardian and reconsidered, too late, whether I could go back to Earth. There was no escape from here. None. Can portals be used to go from one world to another? Or do they have an agreed—upon perimeter? Would I try it? I wasn't recovered enough from the battle yet; it could go wrong, and I'd end up without a body part. "Good," Eli smiles. "Cute and chubby."
— Hello Heimdall, so many millennia without seeing you — The three Asgardians looked at me, dirty. I mean, you're just like... the one in the book. — "What a big lie." — That's it, nice to see you for the first time in my short life. — I tried to laugh. — Fine, I'll shut up until they take me wherever they need me. I'm making almost as much of a fool of myself as I did when I first joined SHIELD when I was 6.
— You joined SHIELD at the age of 6? — Thor looked at me in amazement.
— Yeah, I didn't hear stories from my dad when I was little... not like you two.
I followed Thor, who was carrying Loki, and Heimdall walked behind me. Who wants peace after a war? Everyone, everyone does. Why did she have to end up in Asgard? She wasn't complaining, but she wanted a break.
— There's no ice cream here, right? — I asked Thor
— I don't know what that is, so I guess not.— He answered me.
— That's why your brother must be so bad, he's never eaten ice cream... I pity you, God of deception. — Look at the city — I should have worn sunglasses like Clint, I'll go blind in this city.
And so it was, as Elizabeth began another phase of her life. What did you expect? We've now moved on to Phase Two.
