Chapter 413 - Story 26 Super Gene Ascension Chapter 5

Mio, Rias, and Runeas definitely had a noble family background, although they were frankly... More on the girly side of things as they grimaced and squealed at the messes they made while killing the Sanctuary Creatures.

They still did so without hesitation.

Sadly though I didn't get the Beast Soul from the Water Arrow Crab I killed. As I saw Rias messing with the one she got it was called the Water Arrow Tube. And using it like a blow gun to aim it, you could shoot a bolt of high-pressure water that had the same force as a bullet.

It was only one shot but after letting it rest in your Beast Soul Space the water bolt would fill itself back up after like ten minutes apparently.

And I also struck out on the Mutated large turtle creature as well... So beyond a couple of garbage knife Beast Souls I got from some of the Ordinary tier fish we gathered. I didn't even get a single Primitive Beast Soul from that one harvest.

"Yum yum fishy fish fish." Mio muttered with some excitement as we turned over the fish cooking over several sticks in front of a fire we made. I had made a large stone bowl out of mud that had hardened from the flames we had been using for a long while.

And with that impromptu stone bowl that was obviously crap but still a bowl either way I boiled up the crab's to soften them up so we could use our knives to break up their shells and slurp up their wonderful innards.

"Ughhhhh... I am getting so full already and I only got seven Ordinary Geno points." Rias groaned as she relaxed her head against the tree she was leaning on.

I gave a slight chuckle and replied frankly. "No matter how talented you are in killing the Sanctuary Creatures, you will be limited by your stomach. You gotta digest the advanced geno meat before you take on more."

Meanwhile I myself with my One Piece body had eaten a good deal more food, but not so much as to make my stomach bulge outlandishly.

'All in all, a pretty good amount of growth for a single harvest. If I could do this four times a day I could literally fill out all my stats besides my Sacred Blood gene points within a week at most.' I thought with amusement.

But then my amusement died as I tensed before relaxing and I stood up and said firmly but calmly. "Girls... Stand up, stay quiet, and get behind me."

The soft but not even hidden sounds of foot falls rang out in the distance and the girls hearing the sounds of sticks and leaves crunching quickly moved behind me.

And then from between the trees came the source of the sounds.

"Oh... We are dead." Runueas spoke weakly as a rhino-sized tiger padded toward the clearing.

The tiger beyond its massive size also had abnormally large foot pads with black claws sticking out of them with its darker brown rippling coat allowed it to merge with the forest around us.

The tiger padded into the clearing and its slitted eyes glanced upon our forms with it dismissing the terrified females before it looked at me... And I could see it looking at me and then the spear I had in hand before he chuffed in what could only be dismissal.

Then it slapped the fish that we had cooking and smoking to be kept as we headed back to the ground where it began eating the fish before it paused as it ate the spiced fish and leftover turtle meat I was letting smoke.

'The smell of the cooking food is what brought it here.' I thought as I slowly walked backward away from the tiger, which was obviously a Sacred Blood creature.

I didn't turn my back on the large tiger for good reason as that would encourage the tiger to pounce on me... At least for normal cats anyway.

But as we kept making our way backward well away from the site of our previous campground and lost sight of it Rias whimpered and I looked behind us with my stomach falling.

The tiger was sitting on its haunches with its back straight and taller than me by a whole couple more feet as it was sitting calmly with it licking its lips as it gazed at my group.

"So... You know how I said I could keep an aquatic Sacred Blood creature busy and buy you, girls, time to run. I can't do that with a tiger whose supernatural ability is either teleportation or speed." I reported calmly.

The girls were quiet and then Mio said weakly. "So is this how we die?"

And I remained silent as the tiger advanced before I said slowly. "Maybe... Maybe not, but let me try something first."

I slowly dropped my large bag to the side and then as the tiger approached lazily I opened it up and then stabbed one of the fish I had already smoked onto a knife that I held out with one hand towards the tiger.

"Is this fucking idiot trying to bribe the tiger?" I heard Runeas hiss as I actually advanced on the tiger.

Said tiger got within sniffing distance of the fish and I did what I knew I needed to do. I pulled at my willpower as I knew this was do-or-die time.

I pulled at my mind, and my strength as I clenched my entire body, and I could feel my body almost vibrate with how tense as I was as I gritted out. "I can feed you more."

But it wasn't just me speaking words... I was speaking through the Will of D in One Piece terms. The power of Conqueror's Haki in its most base state is being used to press my will onto another creature.

And the tiger paused at my words where before it was considering me as simple food, the reality was that Sacred Blood creatures especially weren't by any means stupid.

My words had been put into its mind in a way that it could understand and after understanding my words the tiger chuffed before it visibly relaxed making me almost sag but I held firm and spoke to the girls.

"Keep your distance... But I am going to feed the tiger with the same strategy we used previously."

I could tell the girls were way out of their depth but they kept quiet as we headed back over to the river with the tiger walking a good ways away from me and keeping an eye out for what I was doing.

And then using the same strategy but with more nets... Because fuck it we ball with a Sacred Blood creature watching us.

I brought down yet another tree into the river with a massive splash making the tiger tense before its eyes widened when we brought up the nets filled with dozens of fish and other water-based life forms.

Several water arrows from a few Water Arrow Crabs hit the tiger which had quickly advanced on the nets filled with sea life and I grimaced seeing proof that it was undoubtedly a fucking Sacred Blood creature as the water arrows that could shoot through several trees without issue just made the tiger's thick pelt ripple without even hurting the tiger.

'Sacred Blood creatures truly are a whole different kind of life form.' I thought before I spoke. "Come on... It's going to be busy with our catch, we gotta go."

And from there we quickly backed away from the tiger who was happily chewing through some kind of thorny starfish's limbs as finished pulling the rest of my nets back up.

Once we had gotten out of sight of the tiger... We just hauled ass in an almost dead sprint for the three girls as we ran back to the safety of the Black Steel Shelter with us only relaxing when we got behind the walls of the shelter.

But this event was a stark reminder that even though I was growing very fast... The creatures within the First Sanctuary were no joke. And I had zero chance of killing that tiger in open combat period.
