I woke up an hour and a half later, as fresh as a cucumber. It was 5:15 a.m. to be exact. I took my time getting up and sitting on the edge of the bed.
My Aunt Natasha was behind me, still sleeping.
After going to the bathroom, urinating, and putting on clean clothes, I couldn't find anyone when I went down to the kitchen. This meant Grandma Olga was still in sleep, much less my cousin Anna, who was obviously asleep too.
At this point, I knew this was a big problem. I didn't know any neighbors, friends, or acquaintances near my house, so I had no way of knowing where I should go to plow the land.
I left the house still lamenting. My current plan was to plow 70 to 80 hectares, but this would completely delay all my plans.
"Beep, beep."
The sudden sound of the horn takes me by surprise. When I look up, a gray Ford 150 pickup truck flashes its lights in front of the house.
I approach relatively calmly, and a 65-year-old man with white hair, a plaid shirt, jeans, and boots gets out of the driver's seat.
As he gets out, the old man waves. —"Good morning."—
—"Good morning."— I reply, as I approach with some caution.
—"I'm Collins, Philip Collins. I live about four farms down the road, your grandmother."— comments old Philip, but suddenly pauses and adds. —"Olga is your grandmother, right.?"—
I nod a couple of times.
The old man lets out a sigh and continues. —"She asked me to come pick you up and take you to each of the nearby farms to plow their fields."— With that, the old man nods, satisfied with her explanation.
—"Okay, we can leave whenever you want."— I reply, ready to go.
The old man looks me up and down and frowns. Before asking, he closes his mouth and points toward his truck. —"Let's go."— He concludes.
After getting in, the old man immediately started the truck.
Then about 15 minutes of absolute silence, old Philip suddenly told me: —"Two of my sons bet me $100 that you wouldn't be able to finish plowing a single hectare, so I ended up accepting. They'll give me an additional $10 for each extra hectare plowed. To avoid any kind of cheating, you'll start on my land. I hope this doesn't bother you."—
I simply shook my head a couple of times: —"Come on, it helps not to waste time looking for the necessary tools."—
Upon hearing my comment, old Philip finally nodded: —"Okay."—
10 minutes later, we arrived at his property, and a couple of men were already waiting for us, along with an elderly woman, another middle-aged woman, and a girl about 22 or 23 years old.
Old Philip pointed at them: —"From left to right, this is my wife Lucrecia, Job and Hector, two of my five children, my daughter-in-law Matilde, and Carla, my granddaughter."— I greet each of them.
—"Breakfast is ready."— Lucrecia comments, pointing to her house.
—"Oh, I'll get some work done first. I hope this doesn't bother you."— Max comments, leaving all the women with their mouths open, while the Old Man and his two sons nod with satisfaction.
—"Good, then let's go to where the tools are."— Job points toward one of the side paths, while both women and the girl comment in low voices about Max's attitude.
Elder Philip comments aloud to his son Hector, but looks closely at his granddaughter. —"He's young and hardworking."— The girl remains thoughtful and looks back toward the path where the boy and his uncle had left.
Arriving in front of the barn, Job pointed to the tools: —"All yours, boy."— To which Max nods, while Job adds: —"The fields for plowing are up ahead. Are you sure you won't need the animals for..."— Max immediately strapped the plow to his back, leaving Job speechless.
Max heads toward the fields, pulling the plow much more easily than the oxen. After entering the field, the boy begins to run, plowing everything in his path.
This makes Job swallow a large mouthful. After running across the field, in just 10 minutes the field is completely plowed before moving on to the next one.
Then to the next one.

Olga woke up at 7:30 am like every day. She begins her chores in the kitchen and when she finishes, she continues preparing breakfast.
It was 9:30 when Anna finally went downstairs, she cleaned up her mess in the living room, she picked up both her clothes and Max's.
When everything is clean in the living room, the girl heads to the kitchen and, after sitting at the table, her grandmother says. —"Call your mother, we need to talk."— Anna nods, gets up, and immediately goes to look for her mother.
Upon opening the door and entering her parents' bedroom, Anna is greeted by the intense smell of sex that spreads throughout the room. Further ahead, right above the bed, is her mother, still sleeping.
Natasha is face down, completely naked. The sheet barely covers her feet. On her butt and part of her back there are various red marks, some made by hands, others by bites. Between her thighs there are stains of different types of fluids, but all are already dry and scabbed over.
—"Mom, Mom, come on, Mom, it's time to get up."— Anna says, as she climbs onto the bed and insistently moves her mother's body. —"Grandma wants to talk to both of you, and it seems like a serious matter."— At the end of the sentence, Natasha finally shows signs of waking up. She stirs a little and asks in a sleepy voice. —"Didn't she tell you what it's about.?"—
Anna shakes her head several times at her mother's question, but the girl's eyes are drawn to the woman's terrible appearance. —"Mom, you should go take a shower first, you stink."— The girl comments, while holding her nose and trying to keep the air out with her other hand.
Natasha gets out of bed, still muttering in annoyance. —"Fine, fine, you win, spoiled brat. I'll take the shower, but when this happens to you, I'll be the first to shout."— With that, Natasha finally gets up and walks toward the door.
Anna accompanies her mother to the hallway. —"Okay, I'll be waiting for you with Grandma in the kitchen. Don't take too long."— With that, Natasha, still naked, heads toward the bathroom, her butt shaking with every step. As Anna walks towards the stairs as if what happened between her cousin Max and her mother hours ago had nothing to do with her.
Natasha comes downstairs 20 minutes later, still wrapped in a towel and with another towel on her head, to dry her hair. She enters the kitchen with a big smile on her lips.
Olga and Anna are sitting at the table waiting for Natasha, but seeing her attitude, they both scrunch their faces in annoyance.
Before Natasha sits down, Olga comments. —"Alondra is arriving this afternoon and will be using the guest room next."— This causes both Anna and Natasha to frown, and Grandma continues. —"Tomorrow we'll leave together, and I'll spend a few weeks, maybe even a few months, at her house."— This comment causes both Anna and Natasha to panic, and they immediately ask. —"What will happen to us?"—
Olga gets up from the table a little nervously: —"I have no idea. You're both adults and can make your own decisions."— With that, Grandma leaves the table and heads to one of the drawers in the cupboard.
—"Anna, you can go study in the city. Your cousin said he'll take care of your tuition."— After hearing this, Anna immediately agrees and forgets about her mother.
Natasha must make a decision: stay on the farm and wait for her husband and children to arrive or go to the city to look for work.
Although her decision wasn't difficult, the real question is where or with whom she would stay in the city.
Upon learning the answer, a big smile spreads across her face. —"Good, good. And when will we leave.?"— Natasha asked her mother.
Upon learning the decision her daughter Natasha had made, the old woman looks at her granddaughter Anna and warns: —"You must dedicate yourself to your studies, or we will definitely send you back to take care of the farm with your father and brothers."— Anna immediately nods at her grandmother's words, although in her mind the girl already has a better idea of what she can do if she fails in school, and a big smile spreads across her face.
Natasha sees Anna's face and immediately comments. —"No. No and no, you better stop dreaming, naive girl. There are hundreds of girls with those same thoughts, but more beautiful and less stupid than you."— This comment wipes the smile off Anna's face, and Natasha, still not satisfied with this, finally adds. —"Also, how can you ensure that she chooses you.? And if she does, how do you ensure that you're relevant.?"— After these questions, Natasha stood up from the table, while Olga and Anna looked into each other's eyes.
Anna knew her mother was right, so the girl looked at her grandmother and asked, somewhat uneasily. —"Grandma, do you have a plan.?"—
—"Obviously, I have a plan."— Olga replied, very sure of what she was talking about, and added. —"Always remain current."—
—"How is that.?"— After the question, Anna remained attentive, waiting for her grandmother's answer.
With a big smile on her face, Olga stood up from the table. She immediately turned around and smacked her butt hard, while looking down on her granddaughter.
This action made Anna roll her eyes and start thinking about other alternatives, because she knows they're both screwed.

After confirming that the percentage continues to rise, Max continues plowing the next few hectares one by one, neglecting both his breakfast and lunch, amidst the looks of complete disgust from old Philip's two sons.
—"I think it wouldn't be bad to have such a hard-working person in the family."— Old Philip commented loudly, ensuring that both his daughter-in-law and granddaughter heard his words.
