Gwen was beginning to get used to her new role, as it was the start of her career.
If it had not been for that invitation, then perhaps she would have spent a lot of her life trapped inside her own home as she hid away from the world, feeling worthless.
Ambition would soon take root as she would gain more confidence in herself, as she used her skills to make a life for herself that was a lot better than the one she had been living.
Not everyone was so quick to accept such a strange and unexpected offer, even if they had been scouted.
Some among those who had been chosen were quite slow to respond, while others ended up throwing away their way of contacting about being employed or recruited.
Slowly but surely, there were people being recruited for all kinds of roles, whether they were very low-ranking job roles that could be carried out by anyone or those with excellent learned skills or a basic mastery over their Quirk.
There were some among the ordinary humans who did not possess a Quirk who were mostly recruited as couriers and scouts that would be mainly responsible for transporting certain things from one location to the next or checking out something as discreetly as possible.
Others with better skillsets or those with a basic mastery over the Quirk they possessed could be put to use in other ways besides the most basic roles that the lowest recruits would have to be involved in.
A lot of the lower-ranked recruits would be given the grunt work that anyone could do, but there were certain lower roles for those who only knew how to fight and use their Quirk to a certain degree, or they had a slightly less helpful Quirk.
Some among them would only qualify as grunts and hired muscle that would be equivalent to low-level thugs for hire, so while they did have some uses, they were not given such preferential treatment compared to those who had more potential and already existing usefulness.
Not everyone would be working directly under the organisation of Diablo, as there would be many who would merely be temporary recruits or clients who would be forwarded to a more suitable place for them in exchange for various benefits.
Tiffany was able to make use of all of the information and contacts she had been able to build up so far, and that included those that were related to her siblings who were scattered around various parts of the country.
Some among them were a part of various organisations that were scattered all around the country, whether they were related to heroes, villains or more ordinary parts of the world.
There existed Butch, who was a part of a gang, while another had been a part of a revolutionary group.
There had been another sibling of hers who had become a comic artist and writer who was growing more popular by the day.
There existed some who had received a decent enough home to let them lead normal lives.
There existed others who were brought into a much wealthier home where they received varied treatments from their families, but some among them had received some support along the way, whether it was from Tiffany or their adoptive families.
Everything else just depended on how they made use of their situation and how talented they were, while some luck had something to do with it.
A lot of the family of Tiffany were mutants with animal features, but there were some others who had less of a human appearance to match their Quirks, so there were some who had potential in many ways.
If they had no potential or worth, then the adoptive parents of Tiffany would not have been in such a hurry to sell them off once they reached a certain age, and they were able to pick up a variety of skills, learning the ropes in the carnival for certain acts.
While they were learning those skills and gaining experience to participate in the acts and to earn their place in the carnival, that was just another way that they could increase their overall value so that their purchase price could be raised higher.
Those who had much greater value for those reasons were usually sold off for much higher prices to those who needed them for various reasons, as it was not just those who were looking to adopt someone through other methods that were there to bid for them.
Some bidding for them were seeking to exploit them for all they were worth, while others had much purer motives, like the revolutionary group that wished to free those who had been dealt a bad hand in life.
