Diablo did not show signs of being a part of those types of groups and appeared more professional and business-minded.
Rather than giving away false or flattering words without giving any promises to have anything real, Diablo talked of the rewards and payment for anything done quite clearly.
There was no deception in their words as they spoke of what would be expected of Gwen, so it made it easier to trust in what was said.
If anyone wished to do continued business with anyone, then they would be expected to fulfil their part of it.
If they failed to uphold their part of a deal, then those working for them would be unable to maintain their trust and would not wish to continue to work with them.
Since work and payment were mentioned, it was easier to trust in the words of Diablo since it was easier to test if their words were truthful once the task had been completed.
If Diablo did not pay for what Gwen had been tasked with once it had been completed, then that would be when any trust that could have been built would disappear, and they would not be able to work together again.
It would be very difficult to come up with an excuse for why Gwen would not be getting paid, especially when a promise had already been made for her services.
Gwen checked over her things for a moment before packing up and leaving.
Her task was complete, so she headed back to her home and sent a text on the mobile phone that she had been given.
There was some time spent waiting until a reply came back with instructions on how to handle the transaction, as any memory cards used and photos printed would have to be put together in an envelope to be handed over.
Anything that Gwen did herself would be compensated, but it would just be easier to send the camera memory card so that it could be replaced or to have everything on it taken before it would be wiped clean and sent back.
If there were additional expenses, then they would be covered, and there were other details related to the handling of various things, like how it would be unwise for Gwen to continue holding onto such things.
It was not going to be handled too strictly to the point of there being searches in her house or anywhere else, but such details were something that would be expected in that line of work and what would be expected of her.
If she or others happened to be overly ambitious and easy to betray, then such details would need to be expressed even more clearly to prevent them from having any other thoughts.
If they did have those thoughts, then it was difficult to stop them from acting on them unless they were constantly monitored.
Unfortunately, there was still not enough manpower or time that Tiffany could utilise for such things, as she could not monitor everyone at once and all day for every single day when they were employed by her.
Some parts had to be based on a little trust and had various rules or guidelines set up in advance to prevent future mishaps.
Gwen followed the instructions as she removed the memory card from her camera and placed it in a brown envelope that was securely sealed until the time came when there was a knock on the door.
A man wearing a cap that shaded their face and a hoodie that was up over their head had stood outside the door and was seen through the gap in the door as Gwen looked through.
The safety chain lock was still on, so her door was not able to open properly, and she hesitated upon seeing the figure standing there.
They seemed a little intimidating as they stood there until they spoke. "D sent me to pick up something. The password is spider."
Among those who had been hired by Diablo and the organisation that was being put together, there were not just people who possessed Quirks.
There were some who had a certain skill set that could be quite useful, while others were talented in multiple things.
Others were very ordinary, but that did not mean they had no uses.
There needed to be some people who could handle much smaller tasks, like much smaller and cheaply paid odd jobs.
The current person who had appeared at the door of Gwen was just one among many who had taken on one of the courier jobs that would require them to collect and deliver things.
It made it easier for the two sides to exchange things between them if someone was going in between, and it made it so that someone like Diablo would not need to go there personally to pick anything up.
There were other ways for those types of things to be exchanged, but there were always many ways of trails being left behind and for them to be monitored, especially if it was done over the internet, phone or anything else.
Gwen hesitated before moving the sealed envelope between the gap in the door, allowing her to pass it to the man. "What now?"
The man responded quickly before leaving without hesitation. "Notify about the package being picked up and await further instructions."
The door was closed behind Gwen before she returned to her mobile phone to send the message about the package being picked up.
A message came back moments later, which she looked over. "Once the package has been received, the payment should be on its way."
