Gwen looked a little nervous and cautious once she finished listening to everything.
She did not like being around others and preferred to keep to herself to the point that even working was difficult for her.
There were additional social and anxiety problems that could not be so easily overcome for her.
Gwen had many reasons for being like she was, as she had encountered many problems in her life along with many difficulties that caused her to be more withdrawn and give up on herself.
All of those bad experiences mainly came from one thing in particular, as it had something to do with her Quirk.
She had a lot more of a creepy appearance compared to others who were without a Quirk or had a certain type of Quirk that did not show too much or appeared better to look at.
Although many Quirk users were able to fit into society and build a life for themselves, even if it was not as a hero, some people were far less visually appealing.
They would stand out for such differences, so it would result in exclusion and bullying that would only get worse as they grew older.
When they began searching for work, they encountered a number of problems in different environments.
Anywhere that had staff working where they had to be seen and appear friendly, there was someone attractive or approachable who the customers could feel comfortable enough interacting with.
If there were someone scary working behind a counter, then there would be customers who would avoid them and go to another person instead.
It was the same for any kind of work that relied heavily on appearance, like models or anything else, as they would not fit with what would be thought of as appealing or attractive to the public.
Most people like that would end up working in back rooms where they could not be seen and where they had little contact with others.
Gwen had worked a couple of jobs, but they did not last long as a result of her appearing quite creepy and intimidating to others, whether it was her work colleagues, bosses or even the others she came into contact with.
That was made worse by her slightly gloomy appearance, which had been built up from her bad situation when she was in the schooling system and was not treated well by others.
Anyone would be quite scared by her appearance, as she may have appeared slightly human, but she had heavier traits of her mutant type of Quirk.
Gwen had no interest in being a hero, but that was made even more of a thing that she did not wish to become once she was teased about how she was too creepy to become a hero.
There were times when she was teased about it so much that some had joked about her being more suitable to be a villain.
Her skin was purple, which made her stand out a lot already, but that was not the biggest strange part about her.
It was how she had six eyes and fanged teeth while having two extra pairs of arms that were slightly different in length, thickness and shape.
Each of her arms was slightly thinner but longer, while her fingers had slightly sharper ends.
Where there would be a tail on some was an arthropod abdomen part that completed her overall features that came together to define what her Quirk was.
Her Quirk was named House Spider, which was shown by the additional eyes and arms that made her have eight limbs, which were added to the part that would be used to release spider webs.
Her eye sclera were black for all six of them while her eyes were light green, just like her hair that was kept quite short.
Perhaps if it were others, they might not have seen Gwen as someone who had potential or could be put to use, but Tiffany was different from them.
She had grown up in a different environment where mutants and less appealing Quirk possessors could still make a living for themselves.
They were exploited in many ways by the circus, but many of them were able to find ways to support themselves and grow in their own way.
It was just as important that everyone had learned to accept their flaws and make use of them rather than dwell on what others thought about them.
It was just as important how everyone was able to use what they learned to help out those who would have struggled with similar situations, so there was a solid support system.
The place Tiffany grew up in could be toxic in many ways, but she grew up to be more open-minded and accepting of those who were different from others and who did not look attractive to the eyes of others.
When others would dismiss someone just from taking a single look at them and judging them right away, Tiffany was able to look a lot closer to be able to see the potential that they had.
Tiffany was soon allowed to talk to Gwen, who had opened the door a little wider.
