Natsuki: Sigh~ What a pain.
After returning home from the trip, Natsuki helped around in her home and after eating dinner she was lazing in her room when she heard Ryueki from his house cursing Kaneki.
Natsuki: That guy is so annoying.
Needless to say she was very annoyed after hearing his loud annoying voice.
Natsuki: How did I even end up as that guys so-called "childhood friend"?
In her annoyance she unknowingly began looking back at her memories when she first met him.
Flashback~
???: Natsuki look I got a beetle!
Natsuki: Eww~ it's so gross.
It was around either Kindergarten or Preschool, I was playing in the our class's playground with my actual childhood friend.
We were very good friends, we'd mostly play around and capture beetles to make them fight.
It was fun and I really thought we could be friends forever...
Young Ryueki: Nice to meet you. My name's Itadori Ryueki!
But on that day my hellish life began, a new student who'd replace my original childhood friend's had came to our school.
Natsuki: Hey XXX-kun let's go somewhere else.
???: Okay why?
Natsuki: Let's just go.
I already had my ability since I was young and I had somewhat of an understanding of what I saw meant.
My ability allows me to see a person's soul and it's color and depending on what color it is, I could tell what kind of person they are.
And the moment I saw that guy in front of me, I was already afraid of him. His soul was unlike anything I've ever seen it was so scary.
Because of that I tried to avoid him with my childhood friend, though he didn't possess any ability similar to mine he didn't like him one bit as well.
???: That boy doesn't seem good.
Natsuki: You can tell?
???: Yeah I have a bad feeling about him.
Natsuki: I think it's best we don't get involved.
???: Agreed.
Though we promised to not get involved with him, he would always get involved with us himself.
Young Ryueki: Hey Natsuki let's play at the swings.

Young Ryueki: Hey Natsuki join us at tag!
Or more accurately, he would try and get me to play with him. It was very annoying, at some point my original childhood friend had to step in to help.
???: Hey could you stop that? Natsuki doesn't want to play with you and it's annoying.
When he confronted him that guy was really shocked he probably didn't thought that someone would tell him to back off.
Natsuki: Ye-
And I was going to confront him too but...
???: Why are you so mean to Ryueki-kun?
???: Yeah! He just wants to make friends!
???: Natsuki-chan isn't an object you know?!
Even back then he was popular with the girls, and when my childhood friend was confronted by them he became afraid of them and it only got worse for him from there.
Thud!
Ryueki: ARGH! HEY WHY DID YOU PUSH ME?!
When me and my original childhood friend were playing during break, that guy was a bit near us when he suddenly fell and blamed it on my childhood friend.
???: What are you doing you bully!
???: Why is Natsuki-chan even friends with him?
???: he's so violent.
Even though he was very kind to everyone he was blamed for something he didn't do.
???: You pushed a boy to the ground?! What were you thinking?!
???: I didn't! I didn't even come near him at all!
Even his parents didn't believed him when he was telling the truth.
???: Sob~ why is everyone so mean...
I couldn't do anything to protect him since my ability was rather useless... And I was scared myself because of that guy.
And one day.
???: Natsuki... We should stop being friends... I'm not worthy of being your friend.
He suddenly broke up our friendship saying something about not being worthy of being my friend.
Natsuki: Wait!
???: I'm sorry for all the trouble.
And on that very same day he had moved away to another town.
Natsuki: ... The color of his soul... It's sad.
When i last saw hi the color of his soul had so many sad colors but what was strange was.
Natsuki: Did XXX-Kun met with that boy?
I saw colors similar to that guy from his soul, it was like his soul was getting devoured by it or something.
And with my original childhood friend gone.
Young Ryueki: Hey Natsuki-chan you look lonely, don't worry I won't abandon you like that guy.
That guy started getting more involved with me and became my so-called childhood friend even though I never liked being him around him.
And from then on he stayed near me like an annoying parasite.

Young Ryueki: Oi! Natsuki doesn't like talking to others so back off!

Young Ryueki: Don't you understand? I'm the only one who understands her! So don't go near her!

Young Ryueki: You were talking about bad stuff about my precious childhood friend behind her back, don't think I'll let that slide!
He was pretending to be a overprotective childhood friend, and everyone believed him.
???: Lucky Mizutani she has such a handsome and kind guy as her childhood friend.
???: Tch! Why couldn't it be me.
Many girls were looking at me with hostility for being his so-called childhood friend, it was scary the colors of their soul were showing so much malice.
And in addition to that.

Natsuki: Argh! What was that for?!
???: Don't act clueless! You were saying that I'm not good enough for Ryueki-kun behind my back! I'm a lot cuter than you!
???: You said I looked like a pig!
Someone was making false rumors about me saying mean things about the other girls, because of these rumors i ended up getting targeted by these girls and he would always come to "save" me.
Young Ryueki: HEY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND!
I already knew that he was the one spreading the rumors, when I saw him first confront those girls his soul's color was very complicated but I could tell he planned that.
And after he would save me he would reassure me by saying he won't believe what anyone says and that he's the only one who understands me.
But I knew very well he was the one orchestrating everything.
And he had done all that just so I could rely on him and him only. And he didn't just stopped at making rumors about me.
He made rumors about my parents.
???: Hey have you heard? Mizutani-san's dad is apparently an ex-convict.
???: Yeah and her Mom meeting with other men.
It was so annoying, it was one thing to make rumors about me but my parents? It was too much but I couldn't do anything.
And when we started middle school he would get close to a group of girls and act weirdly close with them.
???: You wanna go out later Ryueki-kun?
???: There's a new shop I want to go to.
???: Wanna hangout at my place? Ryueki-Oniichan!
Ryueki: Yeah sure, hey Natsuki want to join us?
These girls that he would hang out with are usually a gyaru, a shy girl and short girl who see's him as an older brother for some reason and many others too.
Every time they act near me I would get annoyed, because those girls were clearly being used by him in order to make me jealous.
Natsuki: Tch! Annoying.
I hated seeing those girls being used as pawns by that guy, being used for his own desires were disgusting.
But when our first year of middle school ended.
Natsuki: What...
One of the three girl's seat was empty with only a flower pot filled with flowers placed on it.
It only meant one thing, that girl was dead and beside her seat was the Gyaru girl who was so depressed she looked so pale making her look like a corpse and as the short girl she was absent for the rest of the semester.
Eventually the Gyaru girl and Short girl would drop out of school completely and became hikikomori's.
Natsuki: No way... I'd he do this...
He was most likely the reason why one of the girls died and the rest became hikikomori's. But I couldn't do anything.
By the second semester a new group of 3 girls of the same types took the previous girl's place and acted the same way.
And again... The same thing had happened and for the rest of middle school I've seen a lot more girls drop out or committed s*icide.
I couldn't do anything to save them and I couldn't escape him until the start of highschool.
Natsuki: Sigh~ I hate this.
???: Hey what's your type!
During the entrance ceremony happened it was so chaotic, somehow he became the a model student or something I forgot what's it's called, and took the stage.
And many girls ended up falling for him.
Natsuki: Classes will most likely be cancelled today I should.
???: Shiita-chan...
Natsuki: Huh?
But when I was leaving, from within the crowd of girls I heard a cry from someone.
Kaneki: Miyu-chan... Miha-chan... Where are you?
And there I saw him.

Natsuki: Kaneki... You looked so sad on that day.

It was Kaneki, he looked so sad that I felt bad for him.
I couldn't hear him very well since we were very far, and out of curiosity I used my ability to see his soul.
Natsuki: !!!
Compared to everyone's soul including that guy, Kaneki's soul was the post chaotic yet beautiful.
And on next day I found something rather strange about him.
Kaneki: ...
I've seen many students called "loners" through the years but he was different, it was like he was abandoned his face was filled with despair.

And his soul turned even more chaotic, I never understood why but the day after.
Natsuki: Has he gone stable?
He suddenly had a more stern look to him and void of any emotion, at that time I thought something must've changed.
But when I looked into his soul, it remained the same when I first saw him.
Ryueki: Hey Natsuki wanna go out for lunch later.
Obviously the advances of that guy never stopped so I secretly watched over Kaneki in secret.
And I've learnt so much about him by watching from far away, his favorite snacks, least favorite subjects and most importantly.
His heart.

A week after school some upperclassmen from the 3rd year were bullying a 2nd year student.
???: Stop it please!
???: Hey what's wrong? We're just playing you've enjoyed what we did last year after all.
Apparently those senpai were bullying that same guy for over a year before us.
There were other students close by but no one stepped in to help.
???: Oh no their beating up Kageyama-kun again.
???: Yeah I've heard a girl that XXX-senpai liked actually looked at Kageyama-kun last year which led to him being bullied everyday.
All because of a girl the poor senpai was being beaten to a pulp.
Everyone around felt bad for him but they couldn't do anything to help, because they were afraid.
???: Should we help him?
???: What? You want to get involved with them? They have connections to a delinquent gang called the Dragon beaters.
They were afraid because of that senpai's connection to a gang.
All except Kaneki.
???: Now then let's have some fun la-

Kaneki had came kicking down on the 3rd year senpai on barefoot and the breaking of bones echoed through the hallway.
???: Wait it's one of the 1st years!
???: You shouldn't have done the-

When one of the Senpai's lackey's tried to attack him, Kaneki swung his sword and made a huge cut onto the Senpai's arm without cutting it off.
???: You why are you-
Kaneki: Because you're bullying someone weaker than you, talk about pathetic.
???: YOU LITTLE! ORA!
And when the senpai tried to retaliate, Kaneki quickly dealt with him.
Slap! Slap! Slap!
Kick!
???: AAAAAAARGH!
???: Boss!
Kick!
Thud!
He slapped the senpai multiple times at the face before kicking his crotch before kicking him to the floor.
Kaneki: You.
???: Me?
Kaneki: Yes obviously, are you alright? You seemed very bruised I suggest you go to the infirmary. Here take this ointment it might help with the pain.
After knocking the group of senpai's to the floor he went for the 2nd year senpai and sent him to the infirmary and even gave him ointment.
???: Oi! Don't think you're going out of this unharmed! Our senpai's in the Dragon beaters will end you!
Even though they were beaten they arrogantly threatened him.
Kaneki: Dragon beaters? Oh those weaklings, fine go call them I don't care.
Everyone including me were stunned to see him not being afraid.
And when the senpai called the Dragon beaters.
???: W-What?...
Crack!
He had dropped his phone and his face turned scarily pale.
???: You're...
Kaneki: ...
???: Boss what's wrong? What about our Senpai's?
???: He... He beaten them last week and removed our leaders arm off.
???: What?!
???: Wait could you be...
Kaneki: Yeah that's right.
???: EEEK!
???: LET'S GET OUT OF HERE! HE MIGHT MURDER US AS WELL!
When they discovered who he was they all ran in terror, I didn't quite understand it at first but a student who knew about Kaneki spoke up.
???: Wow the murderous child of Shimotsuki has done it again.
Murderous child of Shimotsuki.
Even with a scary name like that I could see that he was very kind, when facing the those scary Senpai's his eyes were more focused on the beaten Senpai.
After that I noticed him going to the infirmary, and when that guy wasn't around I checked up on that senpai myself.
Natsuki: Umm... Hello Senpai.
Kageyama: Hmm? A first year? What do you want?
Natsuki: Umm... My classmate went here earlier, what was he up to?
Kageyama: Higanbana's classmate? Oh he came here and bought me those fruits from the cafeteria, I don't really know why he's doing this himself.
Natsuki: Eh? Really?
Kageyama: Yeah and he just left. Hey if you see him again tell him that I said thanks.
The senpai had a warm look on his face and when I looked into his soul, he was a bit bright. He might've felt so happy that someone had saved him.
And in the following days, weeks and months.

Kaneki: You two should seriously be more honest with each other.

Kaneki: Finally found it.
Flash!
Shino: My Bracelet?!

I've seen him many times helping others out, even people he doesn't interact with.
Natsuki: amazing.
Flashback end*
Natsuki: And eventually I would become friends with him and save the girls who were being used by that guy... Oh my.
Though her flashback was originally her looking back at her past, the moment she thought of Kaneki.
All Natsuki could think of, was him.
She took out her phone and happily looked at the group photos she had with her friends and Kaneki.
With a gentle smile she said.
Natsuki: Let's continue on making good memories okay?
And with that she prepared herself to go to sleep.
