Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 – Ten seconds is all I will last

'Ten seconds is all I will last.'

Carl activated his first skill, Bloody Boar, and concentrated. Intense drumming against his ribs was heard as his heart started to race pump more blood, strengthening his bodily muscles. Soon, his speed started to increase, step by step.

The gap between him and the other hunters widened quickly.

He was fast! The fat boy was fast!

The hunters were all shocked. They thought the fat boy was already faster than what they first thought, but he was only hiding his strength.

'A rank 1 body using mana with Bloody Boar is explosive.' Thought Carl.

Of course, he would be fast. He was using an advanced breathing technique. Something of that caliber isn't even worth 20 ordinary breathing techniques.

Everyone opened their eyes wide, completely speechless. Some even slowed down to see what was happening.

Carl was going downhill, his body almost vertical and he crossed his daggers on each hand.

His sight was not blurry despite his speed and the way he was going down. His mind was completely focused on taking out the giant bear before it could regain its balance.

It was at this moment.

All of a sudden, the bear roared, regaining its balance! It opened its mouth, sending shockwaves, and it launched an attack. A gleaming claw specked with its own blood slashed towards Carl, briningl along a hot wave of air.

Fear struck everyone. The fat boy had distanced himself too far for anyone to help. He was alone.

"Carl!" Alex shouted.

The archers pulled their bows, but their fast arrows could not reach the bear before its vicious large claws meets Carl.

"Idiot," Mason spat out and started laughing loudly, anticipating what would happen next.

But then, Carl did something a fat boy usually cannot do. He sprang to the air horizontally, evading the claw that sent shards of the crystal flying immediately after impact.

_Crash_

Carl's body was in the air and his eyes could see the bear's eyes as if they were staring at each other. The scene only lasted a moment as Carl twisted his body in the air and violently landed down the bear's body. He stabbed through the wounds that Mason and the others had struck and did it repeatedly, until blood started to come out like a faucet.

Amidst the bear roaring in pain, Carl's eyes was calm as he brutally inserted the blade to the wounds like mere sticks.

Carl knew at this time that his daggers weren't just decent. It would not break even if he tried to slice through stone. It was only right he guessed. One of the top mage clubs won't just give him a normal dagger, if he's going to a place with only the strength of a slightly stronger human.

Carl climbed at the bear's head then. His grip was phenomenal as soon as his body advanced to rank 1. Top that with the bloody boar, he was like a panther!

With blood spraying to his face, Carl repeatedly struck bear's skull, until blood started to spray upwards like a faucet. Each hit became made the bear weaker and soon its skin became easy to slice like butter.

Feeling the damage in its skull and soon its brain, the bear's roars turned slightly quitter. It only resembled pain, not rage. Then its body eventually went crashing down the ground.

Carl wasn't finished yet though.

He could feel some fatigue, but he knew what he had to do.

Carl waved his daggers and sliced through the bear's skull, searching for something, and soon he found the small stone with a brilliant glow.

He instantly ripped it off from the other organs, wiped it, and cracked it open.

This time, the mana that came out was much of higher quality. It immediately entered his throat and distributed itself to every part of its body, and then its highest quality of mana went to his Centers of Power tempering it.

Carl felt a sizzling sound and cracks inside his body for a few seconds, and then he felt like something opened up. He immediately checked it, and found that his Centers of power—his body, mind, and mana pool—was giving off a more brilliant shine.

The flow of the mana had also gotten smoother. It's like he was flying in the skies for a second. His perception of mana also became a little bit different, as if his view became vaster.

Carl stood on his feet, and felt all of his stamina had been restored, and not only that, he seemed to have gotten heavier but still as light as he used to be. Clenching his fist, Carl could tell his physical attributes just gotten stronger again.

A wide smile was at his face, as he turned to everyone, who was shocked to see he had actually given the giant bear the finishing blow.
