Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 – Aberration

At the third floor, a one meter spider abruptly leapt towards a sleeping group of two meter boars with large tusks and sturdy skin. The spider had a blood-specked mouth, sturdy skinny legs, and a dark hairy body.

The most impressive detail about the spider however was its courage and intellect.

Sensing the burst of killing intent in the area, the boars started to attack in unison. There were superior life forms, and another race has just trespassed onto their territory. Yet when they charged forth, the spider suddenly emitted a superior aura, intimidating their spheres.

Stab!

The boars stiffened in fear and immediately started to flee into different directions.

The huge spider—which was only a meter tall—then moved its sturdy legs and dark hairy body and started to hunt freely. Instantly, it managed to stabbed through one boar followed by more boars in succeeding turns, drawing their blood like a knife slashing through butter. Blood squirted onto the air and the sound of one sided slaughter was heard.

In the end, ten had died on the spot and fifteen weakened their strides, starting to go limp.

After a couple of minutes, the scene in the forest transformed to a dark greyish surface.

Lumps of grey web had wrapped themselves onto the boars in the area and had pasted them onto the ground and into the trees, completely making them immobile.

Walking through his bodily threads, the dark hairy spider connected everything and was moving on about. Seeping the blood, munching on the flesh and satisfying itself with the multiple meals it got.

After a while, the spider had stuffed himself full, and decided to hibernate.

But all of a sudden, a female voice was heard, and it came out of the spider's mouth.

"How far I've fallen. I was a god in my former world. How dare they send me here and now I'm a spider. Seriously. Tch, and those humans, where are they? Do you think they fled already? Sigh, I might just eat one of you then and I can finally regain my beauty back."

Saying so, the spider had pulled one her threads and something descended in front of her face.

"Please, no."

Human voices were heard. Female voices.

In one lump of web, two girls were wrapped in a grey web. Based on their pale skin, it was clear they had been in such state for so long.

The spider was unimpressed. She looked at their expressions. One was begging while the other looked dead already. She wasn't even trying to speak anymore.

"Plea--"

Before the girl could speak more, the spider lashed its leg, and slit the girl's throat, silencing her. Instantly, blood spilt out of her neck, dying the web crimson.

_Slash_

The spider whipped its legs again and loosened the corpse, letting it fall slightly from the other girl, who was now freed of the web.

Looking at the girl's empty eyes, the spider communicated.

"Take me to your sister. If I don't receive good news, I will kill everyone in this place and make all of you my nutrients to get my body back."

The girl merely nodded as if she was a doll, as they went away the third level.

Meanwhile, Carl was in the lobby of the circle house. He tried looking onto the list of individuals that had signed in to the Seventh Mountains and found that Alex had signed out.

'I also forgot to ask his surname.'

Carl scrolled his finger on the screen. There were a lot of Alex's in the list but since everyone named Alex left, he had to have left.

"Not that it matters, I'll just look for him once I go outside. But before that…"

The first thing that Carl did was ask around. Details of the area. The most important thing he learned was while it was cheaper and not given in hard money, he could exchange the loot he had at the circle house for points, which was convertible to cash outside. And so he did.

Like the instructions in the transaction hall stated, he put the loot he wanted to exchange at a long table. There were many long tables in the hall and hunters were exchanging simultaneously.

Just looking at them, he had learned the process.

The hunter basically only had to put the item on the table. A helper would be notified of the request and negotiate a deal with the hunter. If they reached an agreement, the items on the table would be transferred to the storage room.

'Anyway, it looks like I'm gathering some attention…'

While he was putting his loot, Carl saw the eyes and heads turning towards him.

'Maybe, its cuz I put too much than the others?'

It seemed that way. The other hunters in the hall only exchanged half or less of what he put onto the table.

"Good morning, are you Carl Craze?"

A girl, who was in her early twenties, dressed on a black suit for females then approached his table. This was naturally her helper.

"Yes. Can I ask how many points this amount to?"

"Counting all these, it'll be 84 points." The girl said, looking at the tablet on her hand.

'84 points, huh?'

There was a screen on the table for all transacting hunters to use, and Carl saw that 80 points was pretty high for hunters in this hunting ground.

With that much points, his options were broad.

Narrowing his likes down, the best things he could buy were a full set of beginner gear including a weapon of his choice from an axe, sword, dagger, shield, and spear. The set won't be special and the items were normal, but it would certainly help beginners.

He could also buy some food and drink which would be automatically reserved and prepared in the cafeteria. There were also some clothes available, from boots, underwear, hat, and pants. This place has everything.

'I don't really need a full set gear I guess. These gears are meant for beginners to protect themselves from small fry and I'm not really like that.'

Seeing that the hunter was still thinking, the female worker took the time to look at the hunter more carefully.

The hunter was huge, towering over her, but not the masculine type. He was the overweight type. His skin wasn't especially attractive either. The impressive thing was that he was young. Actually quite young for a hunter.

With his data, he can easily be mistaken as a newbie, but that's only what she thought at first.

Seeing his loot, he already doesn't seem like a newbie. The goblins he slayed was one thing, but most of his items came from wolves and boars that could only be spotted at the third level.

And the most amazing this was not even that.

When the request was sent earlier, she looked at the profile of the hunter. His name was Carl Craze. He was 15 years of age. And he was a contracted member of GKS, Seventh Mountains managing club!

It was not a secret how impressive of a club GKS was, they are top-tier even worldwide. And it was well-known that it was quite hard to get a contract from their front office. They hardly look for veteran cultivators, and only look at promising youths. Real promising and young cultivators.

The girl was immediately shocked and thought she should attend to this hunter immediately.

"This place has everything…"

Carl was mumbling when the helper asked something.

"Is this perhaps your first time?"

"Yes, I'm a little shocked at this technology. It's really convenient," Carl answered like a country bumpkin, and continued scrolling like a child.

His ignorant behavior made the helper baffled a little.

Carl on the other hand continued looking. For one, he already added to his cart an infinity storage item, the best one he could afford. There were only two left, so he was quite lucky.

After that however, he still have excess money, and since he's here already, he might as well buy something else.
