It would not even have to expose itself to all that much danger to be able to accomplish such a feat.
The most dangerous trait about it was how it could deal with others in such a manner without exposing itself to danger.
The only reason why there had not been any losses suffered was because of Ash and Cedric relaying information about it coming and telling everyone to move from certain areas before they became affected.
Each time that it happened, the morale of the group seemed to fall a little as they were shaken up by the danger they were put into.
It was frustrating to feel so helpless like that, as if they could be taken at any given moment.
The only thing that kept them going was the reassurance Cedric and Ash brought to them.
With the knowledge that they could avoid such a fate if they listened to the warnings, they were able to overcome those doubts and fears, especially when they had avoided harm each time.
