If there was anyone who could be targeted within the organisation of Gerald, then she certainly would not feel bad about targeting someone like Stephan.
In some ways, she thought that perhaps it would be better if he were no longer in the world so that he could no longer do any harm to any more people.
Stephan already had quite a history with violence, and, much more to the point that he had been imprisoned for some time.
There were those who would come out of prison reformed and seeking out a new way of living, but Stephan was not among them.
He had been with Gerald for a very long time and had even gone to prison for Gerald, as he was able to avoid giving Gerald up for the sake of a reduced sentence.
Whatever decision that led to that was likely the result of there being heavy loyalty to Gerald or fear.
If it was loyalty, then it meant that he was someone who was willing to stick with Gerald until the end and that he liked the current lifestyle that he was living.
