Lisa's eyes widened as she stood up in shock.
"That's… that's a Hunter-issued weapon! Those are restricted! Only military agents under AMER command are allowed to use those!"
Mr. Chana, sitting behind the glass, simply took another sip of wine and smiled.
"Surely you didn't think I invited you for nothing," he said with quiet satisfaction.
"And what are you thinking, letting a civilian put that on?"
"Murad," Chana replied, "is no ordinary civilian. He's strong. Don't underestimate my son simply because he isn't a Hunter."
Her eyes narrowed. "So you're turning your own son into a test subject?"
But the man didn't even flinch. He might as well have been discussing the weather.
Lisa stepped closer, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. "You know the side effects of using a gauntlet without proper conditioning!"
Her words were cut off as a new commotion stirred beyond the glass. The observation room suddenly felt smaller, heavier.
Lefina had arrived.
