Some time later, the bedroom door creaked open.
The two stepped out together, dressed neatly this time. Airi wore a simple pastel dress, elegant but understated. Zeyn, now properly awake, was in a clean white shirt, dark vest, and formal slacks.
The halls of Mehra Estate felt different now. Quiet, their footsteps echoing sharply on the polished marble floors. Every maid they passed bowed respectfully, though their glances carried both awe and curiosity.
"Ai," Zeyn murmured quietly as they walked. "Can I ask you something?"
"Hmm? What is it?"
"Didn't we take just one day off from class? So… why are we still here?"
"Umm, because I feel lazy?" Airi teased, her voice light.
Zeyn blinked. "Wait, what?"
"So much happened yesterday. Don't you think it's better to clear our heads a little? Just some 'us time'?"
He stared at her but said nothing.
