Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

What is the difference between a Goblin and a Kobold when it comes to fighting? Well, there are notable differences.

The Goblins use everything they find in their hands, and if they don't have anything they will fight with their bare hands.

Unlike Kobolds, they usually prepare sharp weapons, mainly rustic spears, and fight using ambush tactics.

. Of course, if they feel that the opponent is not a threat, they can attack directly instead of planning an ambush.

To the bad luck of the Kobold group, this time not only would they not have a chance to set up an ambush, but they would be the ones being ambushed.

The plan would be quite simple,

we would wait for them to reach this area before attacking them. Once the Black Wolf arrived he would attack directly followed closely by the Dog and the Cat, the three of them would cause confusion among their ranks and at that moment Lion, Goblina and I would attack.

Since the difference in numbers was very large,

Being that it was 6 of us against 20 Kobolds I had to think carefully what they would do if they didn't want us all to die at the end of this.

Under normal circumstances the side with the smaller number would have to be defeated against the one with the larger, but we were not just ambushing them,

but also the individual strength of the group was greater than theirs.

And that's not to mention that some of my relatives had powerful abilities that by themselves could decide defeat or victory.

Although my other familiars did not have powerful abilities, their strength was not to be underestimated in any way.

And more considering that he had used his own life force to strengthen them, making them capable of facing medium groups (4 to 8) of Goblins or Kobolds by themselves.

Considering those things, as long as he didn't get too confident he should be able to defeat the kobold group without casualties.

While he was thinking about it,

he was informed by the butterfly that the group of Kobolds was only a few meters away from the ambush site.

Gabriel signaled to everyone to make sure not to be seen and hide their presence as much as possible.

The voices of the Kobolds were heard, as they were in a different language he couldn't understand them in the slightest.

He could slightly notice how the Kobolds were led by a small number, which he deduced were the leaders.

Their weapons weren't that great, being spears made of wood and materials that could be easily found in nature. His natural gift of creating weapons was impressive,

Obviously if you were to compare it to iron weapons they could only be categorized as trash, but considering they didn't have any kind of forging equipment or mineral knowledge, the best they could hope for was high-quality wooden weapons.

While he considered that,

slowly the Kobold group was getting deeper and deeper into the trap. When the Kobolds were already at the target location, I mentally Shouted through the "NOW" link.

The Wolf's figure quickly disappeared as he blended into the darkness, using the shadows he moved quickly until suddenly appearing in front of the apparent leader of the group.

.

The Kobold was rendered speechless by the sudden appearance of an ominous figure cloaked entirely in black and with eyes as cold as ice.

Before he could do anything, the wolf lunged at him with its mouth open, showing all its teeth as sharp as swords.

Its teeth pierced its head and crushed it with great force, releasing tons of blood that came out of the openings in its teeth, covering the black figure in blood and the ground staining itself with this blood mixed with part of the black substance that covered the body. of the wolf

This all happened in less than a second.

being that none had reacted to the sudden loss of the power figure of the group, and more because of a mysterious figure that slipped through all the kobolds and assassinated their leader with extreme ease.

When one of the Kobolds recovered from the shock, he yelled furiously at the black wolf in a language he couldn't understand,

but more likely it was something like: KILL HIM.

The wolf was surrounded by the other nineteen Kobolds, but before the Kobolds launched to attack the bastard that killed their leader, there was the sound of a groan of pain followed by the smell of blood.

A figure of a Cat and a Dog suddenly appeared behind the Kobolds, killing any of them before they could form a defense.

The Kobolds were forced to split part of their members to hunt down the two new enemies.

Lobo was clearly fighting most of them.

Luckily he was strong enough to withstand their combined attack, but this was only for a short time.

After all, although he was strong by himself and in many circumstances he could kill all the Kobolds by himself, this due to the use of the degradation ability he could kill most of the Kobolds;

it still did not mean that he could not die if the black substance that produced the degradation was not recovered in time.

His ability itself was the ability to produce that black liquid that has the degradation trait, but it was not unlimited, he had to use a few minutes to create more of this substance,

which left him in a state of vulnerability that could be taken advantage of to kill him with great ease.

That is why both Cat and Dog were attracting part of the aggro, so that Lobo could operate more freely and not lose too much of this substance in battle.

At first Lobo was able to kill some of them using his ability, but the kobolds, seeing how some of their companions died when they touched the black substance, began to use guerrilla tactics, attacking from a distance and retreating whenever the wolf got close.

It was a good tactic to fight against the Black Wolf,

but it wasn't perfect. Some of them had died because they could not withdraw in time.

Their numbers, which at first were 17, dropped to 14, but from there it became increasingly difficult for them to kill those who remained.

The black wolf was getting tired while the Kobolds increased the rate of their attacks.

If this continued,

it would only be a matter of time before the Wolf was killed by the Kobolds.

So he tells León and Goblina to prepare to attack.

A few minutes later the best moment came, the Kobolds were giving their full attention to the Wolf, Cat and Dog, so he could easily attack their backs,

ending the lives of at least four of them.

We moved slowly keeping our presence as unnoticed as possible, when we were close enough we rushed at them and killed three of them almost instantly.

The Kobolds were surprised by the sudden enemy and momentarily diverted their attention from the Wolf, which he took advantage of to end the life of another of them.

Goblina quickly withdrew her sword from the kobold's corpse and pounced to kill another, in a few moves she was able to kill him, lowering the morale of the surviving kobolds.

.

Now there were only nine of them left, while there were six on our side.

What was left was a completely unbalanced battle in which their numbers were dwindling extremely fast.

The lion took the last of them and brutally killed him by tearing into his face with his claws, and finishing him off by biting into his neck and breaking it in half.

The battle had lasted only about fifteen minutes, but the smell of blood was extremely thick.

"Bring the corpses" I ordered them, to which they quickly gathered the corpses of all the Kobolds.

Gabriel approached the corpses and invoked his book, this released an aura of light that surrounded the small mountain of corpses,

slowly turning them into particles of light that were absorbed by the book.

[Absorbed Wild Kobold x16]

[Absorbed Elite Wild Kobold x4]

[Do you want to Dissolve it into Life Force?]

"Elite Kobolds?" He asked himself.

He hadn't seen anything different in them,

so he didn't know that some elite members were mixed in among the rabble.

"I guess that's why this group could be formed" He muttered, after all monsters tended to gather with individuals of the same species stronger than them, so these Elite Kobolds would be the ones that commanded the normal Kobolds.

"Dissolve ten of the normal kobolds and save the rest"

[Understood, Master]

"Master" A female voice was heard next to her.

Gabriel turned and looked at her, only to look away from her quickly.

Hell, I forgot she was naked.

He thought as he tried to look away from her, but her eye accidentally caught it.

Its dark gray-green body was filled with the red blood of kobolds. Although that would be terrifying to some people, being a person who had already taken the lives of dozens of monsters, he was little to no affected by seeing that.

"What's up Goblin"

I ask as he looked down.

"We found this" Goblina said as she stretched out her hand.

She looked at what she might have found, only to be shocked to discover that it was a brilliant gem similar to the one she had obtained long ago from the rare Orc.

She took it and checked with the orc gem that she had been keeping as an interesting souvenir.

The color was the same

but the orc's was slightly larger.

What is the meaning of this gem?

He wondered, he didn't know exactly what it worked for or what its origin was, but he decided to keep them in case they could be useful in the future.

Once they rested for a while, they left that place without leaving anything that could be useful,

being that they took the spears that were in a decent state from the Kobolds.

Other than a few minor clashes, there were no major problems coming his way.

Finally, they arrived at a place they considered decent to set up their base and temporary home.
