Matilda was washing dishes in the kitchen, but her ears were perked to hear the voices in the living room.
Reuben had suggested Lily bring Dylan to the mall to buy clothes. However, Lily didn't seem inclined to budge.
He looked at Dylan and saw that he was drinking tea calmly. Dylan didn't accept or refuse the offer, so Reuben didn't know what he wanted.
Just then, Matilda came out of the kitchen. Rubbing her hands dry, she said, "Lily, Mr. Hudson drove you all the way here. You should show him your gratitude."
Lily was once again rendered speechless.
Lily glanced at her mother, then at her father. Then, she stood up and said, "Okay. I'll go to the mall and buy some clothes for Mr. Hudson."
Five minutes later, Lily put on a thick coat that protected her from the cold and left the courtyard of the two-story villa with the thinly dressed man.
