The entire pit erupted into chaos.

Pota- you've got to be kidding me!
The Crimson-Eyed Poison Snakes surged toward me like a living ocean of black scales, their bodies slithering over one another as hundreds of scarlet eyes fixed upon their prey. Their deafening chorus of hisses reverberated against the stone walls, filling the enclosed chamber with a sound so overwhelming it drowned out my own heartbeat.
"Hngh!" I threw myself to the side just as a pair of venomous fangs snapped shut where my head had been moments earlier.
"Hisss!" The snake's poison splashed across the stone, releasing a sharp hiss as the emerald liquid slowly ate into the rock. Before I could regain my footing, another serpent lunged from behind.
I ducked beneath its strike, only to feel something cold coil tightly around my ankle.
"Get off!"
