The moment we stepped beyond the massive stone gates, the atmosphere changed completely.
The streets were alive.
Merchants shouted from colorful stalls lining both sides of the cobblestone road.
"Fresh bread!"
"Apples from the western orchards!"
"Healing herbs! Freshly picked!" The aroma of roasted meat drifted through the air, mixing with the scent of baked pastries and blacksmith smoke. Horse-drawn carriages rattled past while children ran through the streets laughing, weaving between travelers with practiced ease.
I couldn't help slowing down.
"Whoa..."
Everything felt… Alive.
I know that my memories… I know that I've been through a few other cities with mom and dad but to me that's… the original's… It's just- this is the first city I've actually been to as a clone.
