Chapter 156: Giving My Disciple the Immortal Herb

A striking yellow soul ring appeared on Ning Bei's Ice Snow Girl martial soul.

As Ning Bei began to absorb the soul power granted by the God-given soul ring, the yellow soul ring gradually began to deepen in color.

Half an hour later, the yellow soul ring turned purple.

Two hours later, the purple soul ring turned black, followed by red, and then two golden patterns slowly appeared.

By the third day, five complete golden patterns had appeared on the blood-red soul ring, with the sixth one slowly forming.

Ning Bei furrowed his brow slightly, feeling a bit of pressure building up on his body.

"It's almost there, just a bit more, I have to hold on!"

Now that the fifth soul ring had reached an age of 580,000 years, Ning Bei was aiming to push it past the 600,000-year threshold, which would significantly enhance his soul skills.

Tianmeng and the Snow Emperor in his consciousness sea were both sweating for Ning Bei. They couldn't imagine the scene if Ning Bei's soul power exploded.

Fortunately, that moment never came. Although Ning Bei's forehead veins bulged and there were faint traces of blood vessels popping out, he didn't explode from the pressure.

Several hours later, the sixth golden pattern fully solidified on the soul ring.

Ning Bei slowly opened his eyes, signaling the end of this soul ring absorption.

"Not bad, a 600,000-year soul ring."

"Kid, take it easy. I've still got 600,000 years of soul power sealed here! There's no need for you to take such a risk."

Ning Bei shrugged slightly, ignoring Tianmeng's rebuke.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't do something without confidence. Didn't you forget I have a pile of life-saving pills?"

"Fine, fine, fine, I'll let you have your way. But remember, the future of all three of us is on you now."

"Alright, alright, I'll absorb only one hundred-year soul ring for the next four, okay? You've really become timid, no wonder the Ice Emperor never looks at you."

"Uh…"

Tianmeng was at a loss for words, staring at Ning Bei with wide eyes. It seemed difficult for him to understand how such cold words could come from someone with a warm demeanor.

If Ning Bei knew his thoughts, he would probably tell him that lies are harmless, but the truth can be painful.

After completing this special journey, Ning Bei left the Ice God Hall and returned to his room.

After being in closed-door meditation for over ten days, Ning Fengzhi and the others were extremely worried. They finally relaxed when they heard that Ning Bei had returned.

When they learned that Ning Bei's soul power had reached level 97, they were astonished but also filled with pride.

"My son (grandson) Ning Bei, has the potential to become a god!"

Ning Bei, blushing from all the praise, quickly excused himself, saying he needed to return to his room to consolidate his cultivation.

Back in his room, Ning Bei checked on his little disciple's training progress.

Nami had been at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School for over a month and had not stopped taking Whale Gel during this time. Ning Bei planned to have her take an immortal herb he had grown before taking her to obtain her soul ring.

The immortal herb he had cultivated was a medicinal herb that originally didn't belong to the immortal herb category. However, after being nurtured by Danxiang, it successfully gained the effects of an immortal herb.

Since the immortal herbs Ning Bei had weren't very suitable for Nami, this was the only solution.

The herb was called Sea Blue Kelp. He had stumbled upon it during his search for Blue Sea Corals while acquiring soul rings for Ning Fengzhi. After being identified by the Dan Tower, Ning Bei realized it would be greatly beneficial for water-type martial souls.

He had been nurturing it in the Dan Tower, and now, it had progressed into the Seven-Colored Kelp. The medicinal effects would surely be much stronger.

Ning Bei called his little disciple to his room and took out the Seven-Colored Kelp.

"Nami, this herb, if brewed into a tea and consumed, will be very beneficial to you. Once you've absorbed the medicinal power, I'll take you to hunt for your soul ring."

Nami's eyes brightened immediately upon hearing her teacher's explanation. She had been eagerly waiting for her soul ring.

Seeing her companions rapidly growing stronger, it was impossible for her not to feel anxious. However, she understood that her teacher had plans for her future, so she never rushed him.

"Thank you, Teacher! I'll drink it right away!"

After giving her some advice on how to use the herb, Ning Bei didn't refuse her request to consume it immediately. He thought it must be tough for her, having to wait until she was 12 to get her first soul ring.

He wasn't worried about his little disciple's future limits. The little girl's determination was clear to everyone. Even though she couldn't see her level increasing without a soul ring, she never slacked off in her cultivation.

In terms of competition within the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, she and the little kitten were in the top two spots.

Just over ten days ago, the little kitten, after obtaining her third soul ring, had increased her soul power by another level, reaching the rank of a 39th-level Soul Elder.

Their efforts made Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu lament. They had even reduced their walks, fearing that two latecomers might surpass them in cultivation. If that happened, where would their pride go?

As a Sea Soul Master, Nami's soul ring would be best obtained near the sea. Ning Bei decided it was a good opportunity for a trip. Of course, he didn't plan to go alone.

He decided to bring along Dugu Yan, because otherwise, it would be quite lonely.

He had the Albatross deliver a message to Dugu Yan, asking her to come to the sect so they could wait for Nami to finish absorbing the herb before setting out.

Dugu Yan had heard her man mention the little disciple he had taken from Han Hai City, but she had never met her, so she was curious.

"So, we're both going to get Nami her soul ring?"

"Yes, just consider it a little outing!"

Dugu Yan gave him a look of disdain.

"Just an outing? You don't mean you want to take advantage of the moonlight to look at the glowing soul bones?"

Seeing how Dugu Yan looked at him, Ning Bei clutched his chest, retreating a few steps in mock agony.

"Is that how you see your man? I really just want to take you on an impromptu trip."

Knowing Ning Bei's tendencies, Dugu Yan wasn't moved. She rested her chin in her hand and calmly looked at him, nodding.

"Yes, you're definitely that kind of person."

"Pfft!"

Ning Bei almost spit out a mouthful of blood. But since he couldn't change how his woman viewed him, he didn't bother pretending anymore.

"Don't worry, I absolutely won't make you watch the glowing soul bones during this trip."

Dugu Yan shot him a suspicious glance. Had he changed?

"I recently bought a ten-year-old Star Spirit Cat that can do backflips. It's a bit shy, so it can only perform in a dimly lit environment."

"We can watch it together under the covers."

Dugu Yan gave him a look of disdain, knowing full well how things would turn out.

"Go away! I want you to crawl away, now!"

As the couple playfully bantered, Nami, after a few days, had finished absorbing the medicinal power. However, without a soul ring, the benefits she had gained weren't yet visible.

"Master, let's go!"

Nami's eyes were full of excitement, but she froze for a moment when she saw Dugu Yan standing next to Ning Bei.

"Cough, cough, Nami, this is my girlfriend. You can call her 'Teacher's Wife'."

Nami immediately understood, nodded, and then respectfully bowed 90 degrees in front of Dugu Yan.

"Hello, Teacher's Wife. My name is Nami. I'm Teacher's disciple, taken in during the second month!"

"Eh, hello!"

The title of "Teacher's Wife" caught Dugu Yan off guard, and she blushed, greeting Nami with a smile.

Chapter 157: The Prison of Azure Waves

After Nami finished absorbing the immortal herb and greeted Ning Fengzhi, the three of them set off for Han Hai City.

Since they weren't in a rush, Ning Bei didn't plan on using flight.

The trio traveled slowly by carriage toward Han Hai City.

Along the way, Nami kept up her exceptionally high training frequency, which made Dugu Yan stare in amazement.

"Is this how you treat your own disciple? Even a draft horse needs rest, right?"

Ning Bei immediately gave an innocent look.

"You're mistaken. This child wants to participate in the Soul Master Competition with her friends, so she needs to make up for the six years she lost with hard work."

Upon hearing Ning Bei's explanation, Dugu Yan sighed. If she had trained like Nami, she would have at least been a Soul Saint by now.

Upon arriving at Han Hai City, seeing the expectation in Nami's eyes, they didn't delay any further and headed straight for the seaside.

Here, it was necessary to summon the useful tool, Da Ming.

"Da Ming, we need your help again. Nami requires a nearly thousand-year-old Bubble Steering Fish."

Da Ming nodded and transformed into his true form, diving into the sea.

Before they left, the group had already flipped through the catalog, and this type of fish soul beast was highly likely to provide Nami with a control-type soul skill.

Then, the waiting began. Ning Bei summoned Yao Yao and created a three-room, two-hall space for them. The three of them entered the room and began their lunch.

Just as they finished their meal, Da Ming appeared with a flat fish, its body a deep blue, in front of them.

The three of them looked at the fish, which was exactly the Bubble Steering Fish they had seen in the catalog. From its length, it seemed to have around 900 years of cultivation.

After thanking Da Ming, Ning Bei stored the fish in the Dan Tower.

He took out a dagger and handed it to his little disciple.

"Nami, you can kill it by stabbing its eye."

Nami took the dagger and swallowed nervously. This was her first time hunting a soul beast, and she felt very anxious.

Ning Bei and Dugu Yan looked at her expression and understood. They had all been through it, so they didn't rush her, trusting that Nami could mentally prepare herself.

Five minutes later, Nami took a deep breath and, with her eyes still closed, stabbed the fish's eye with the dagger. The fish's tail quivered and it stopped moving.

A deep yellow soul ring slowly rose from the fish's body.

"Nami, release your martial soul and try to guide the soul ring with your soul power."

Nami nodded, took the protective pulse pill Ning Bei had given her, and sat cross-legged beside the Bubble Steering Fish. She released her Summoning Tide Sea Queen and began to draw the soul ring toward her.

Under her soul power's guidance, the soul ring slowly settled onto her martial soul. All they had to do now was wait.

"The first soul ring is nearly a thousand years, that should be fine, right?"

Dugu Yan saw a hint of pain on Nami's face and anxiously squeezed Ning Bei's hand. Although she had known there wouldn't be a problem, seeing Nami absorb the soul ring made her heart race.

"This is something Nami has to go through to become stronger. Otherwise, her friends will just leave her behind. We have to trust Nami!"

Fortunately, after the initial pain, Nami's expression slowly returned to calm, and the soul power fluctuations around her began to rise steadily.

Dugu Yan, seeing this, finally relaxed. She had grown quite fond of the shy little girl who called her "Teacher's Wife" and didn't want to see anything go wrong.

An hour later, Nami finally finished absorbing the soul ring and slowly opened her eyes.

Her green pupils were filled with excitement.

"Master, Teacher's Wife, I did it!"

"Good job, Nami!"

Dugu Yan didn't hold back her praise, ruffling Nami's head in encouragement.

Ning Bei, however, remained practical and directly asked about the effect of the soul skill.

"How's the soul skill? If you want to test it, you can use it on me!"

Upon hearing her master's words, Nami closed her eyes to feel the power, then summoned her martial soul and released the soul skill toward Ning Bei.

"First Soul Skill, Prison of Azure Waves!"

The staff of the Summoning Tide Sea Queen behind Nami gently swayed, and a water sphere several meters in diameter formed around Ning Bei, trapping him. The water sphere was a deep green, hiding soul power within.

Ning Bei felt the suffocating and dizzying sensations coming from the sphere and thought to himself, this soul skill was indeed just as he had expected.

After assessing the strength of the water prison, he realized it could easily control soul masters below the rank of Soul Sovereign. He nodded inwardly.

With a wave of his own soul power, he expanded it outward.

With a loud "crack," the water sphere shattered, revealing Nami's eager face, awaiting her master's evaluation.

"Not bad, a control-type soul skill. For a first soul skill, it's quite strong. Soul Sovereigns and below can't escape it."

Nami smiled widely, nodding and expressing her own thoughts.

"Master, I can feel that this soul skill will grow stronger as I improve my cultivation!"

"Is that so? Then it's perfect."

Dugu Yan, after hearing Ning Bei's evaluation, felt happy for Nami. The little girl had officially taken her first step toward becoming a soul master.

"It's getting late. Let's return to Han Hai City and rest for the night. The Water Gun Turtle needs to be found on a rocky seabed or an uninhabited island. We'll set off tomorrow."

"Yes, Master!"

Indeed, after absorbing the first soul ring, Nami's soul power had already reached level 20, meaning she still needed to obtain one more soul ring.

The Water Gun Turtle was the second soul ring they had selected after consulting the catalog in the sect.

Back at the hotel, Ning Bei booked two rooms at the front desk. After sending his little disciple to familiarize herself with her soul skill, Ning Bei took Dugu Yan to see the backflipping Star Spirit Cat.

A night of passion ensued, and Dugu Yan was quite pleased with the cat's performance.

The next morning, eager as ever, Ning Bei took the two of them and flew toward the sea.

Within half an hour, the three of them found an island covered in lush greenery, clearly a remote place.

This time, they would need to call upon another tool, Yao Yao.

After summoning Yao Yao, Ning Bei had her communicate with the native trees of the island.

Not long after, Yao Yao's efforts led them to a suitable Water Gun Turtle.

The three of them followed Yao Yao to the center of the island, where the environment was exceptionally beautiful, with a shallow pool under a giant tree.

By the pool, a turtle soul beast was peacefully resting. It was nearly two meters long, and its shell had grooves resembling gun barrels. This was a Water Gun Turtle with close to 2,000 years of cultivation.

"That's the one. Should you or I take care of it?"

After confirming that it was their target, Ning Bei looked at Dugu Yan.

"I'll handle it. It's been a while since I've moved."

"Who said that? Didn't we just 'move' last night?"

"Slap!" Dugu Yan's face turned bright red as she smacked Ning Bei's arm, glaring at him, seemingly reproaching his mischief.

Ning Bei immediately raised both hands in mock surrender.

Nami, standing nearby, watched the interaction between Master and Teacher's Wife, feeling somewhat confused.

Dugu Yan ignored her annoying man and turned, releasing her martial soul as she walked toward the Water Gun Turtle.

The large turtle was sleeping soundly, unaware of the trouble about to befall it.

"Third Soul Skill: Azure Phosphor Purple Poison!"

As Dugu Yan's voice fell, a purple poisonous mist enveloped the Water Gun Turtle in an instant.

The turtle awoke, sensing danger, and tried to attack the three of them.

However, it was too late. After inhaling the poison mist, it fell unconscious in mere seconds.

Chapter 158: The Second Soul Ring

"Nami, hurry up! If you wait any longer, it will die!"

Dugu Yan withdrew the poison mist, anxiously looking at Nami. She had been a bit too harsh with her attack.

"Thank you, Teacher's Wife!"

Nami hurried over to the unconscious Water Gun Turtle. This time, she didn't hesitate and immediately took out the dagger, stabbing it into the eye socket.

A few seconds later, a purple soul ring slowly rose from the Water Gun Turtle's body.

Nami, familiar with the process, took the protective pulse pill and summoned her martial soul, sitting cross-legged to absorb the soul ring.

Since they were in the wild, to prevent any soul beasts from disturbing Nami's absorption, Dugu Yan remained on alert, guarding the surroundings. In her mind, Ning Bei's disciple was like her own disciple.

Ning Bei, noticing Dugu Yan's concern, teased her.

"Your role as a teacher's wife is quite fitting!"

"Hmph, it's only because this kid has an incompetent teacher!"

Dugu Yan gave him a teasing look, and over the past few days, she had grown quite accustomed to being called "Teacher's Wife," and even found she liked it.

The nearly 2,000-year-old Water Gun Turtle didn't cause Nami much trouble; in fact, it was even easier than when she absorbed her first soul ring.

A few hours later, Nami successfully absorbed the soul ring and opened her eyes.

"Master, Teacher's Wife, I'm at level 27!"

Watching her little disciple proudly show off her progress, Dugu Yan inwardly marveled at how fast she had improved compared to when she had been a Great Soul Master.

"Let's see your soul skill in action!"

Ning Bei, who had already anticipated Nami's improvement, wasn't surprised. Instead, he was more concerned about the second soul skill she had just obtained.

Nami nodded, summoned her martial soul, and the second purple soul ring glowed.

"Second Soul Skill: Tide Impact."

The Summoning Tide Sea Queen behind her raised her staff, and a water column shot directly toward Ning Bei and Dugu Yan.

"Huh!"

Dugu Yan made a soft sound of surprise. She didn't feel any offensive power from the incoming water column.

And indeed, the water column, upon reaching them, turned into a gentle flow, enveloping both of them.

As she felt her physical strength and soul power gradually recovering, Dugu Yan nodded in approval. But before she could say anything, the water flow suddenly transformed into more powerful water arrows, shooting toward a nearby tree.

A massive tree, about 50 cm wide, cracked and broke in half with a loud "crack."

Dugu Yan's eyes lit up, her excitement evident as she looked at Nami.

"Your second soul skill is actually a combination of both supportive and offensive capabilities? Impressive!"

Nami blushed slightly at her teacher's praise.

"Yes, Teacher's Wife, my second soul skill is just like that."

Ning Bei, who had already anticipated this, couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Go ahead, copy me! Let's see what you do with your fifth soul skill!"

After finishing the soul hunting, the three of them didn't linger on the island.

They spent two days in Han Hai City sightseeing before returning to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School.

Not long after sending Dugu Yan back to Sunset Town, Ning Bei received a letter from Qian Renxue, informing him that Tang San and the others had arrived in the Tiandou Empire and asking whether any action should be taken.

Ning Bei had no intention of replying to the letter. Instead, he confidently headed straight to the Prince's Mansion.

Once again, he entered the familiar secret room, where the little angel had restored her original appearance.

"So, where did the Shrek group go?"

"Blue Tyrant Academy. It's the academy founded by the former Golden Iron Triangle member, Liu Erlong."

Qian Renxue had her own spies, and after the Shrek group left Tiandou Royal Academy, she had figured out their whereabouts.

Ning Bei nodded, confirming that everything had returned to the original path.

"Don't worry about it. When the Soul Master Competition starts, I'll have your sister educate them."

"Sister?"

The little angel looked at Ning Bei in confusion. "I have a sister? Why wasn't I aware of this?"

"Tch, my sister is you, what are you thinking?"

Qian Renxue rolled her eyes at him but didn't argue.

"Honestly, I almost lost control and attacked that guy. A mere Soul Sect dared to show killing intent toward me!"

"Of course, you already have a death wish hanging over you!"

"Huh?"

"Nothing, I just mean that anyone who dares to show killing intent toward you already has a death wish. If not one, then at least eight hundred of them!"

Qian Renxue didn't press the issue further, instead bringing up the trip to the Spirit Hall. She wasn't worried about Ning Bei's team being unable to attend the finals in Soul Master City.

"You bad guy..."

"Just say what you want to say. Why are you being so shy?"

Ning Bei glanced at his woman in confusion. After everything they had done, why was she acting shy?

"Are you planning to visit my grandfather when we go to Spirit Hall City?"

Ning Bei immediately understood. She had been worried about this?

"Of course, I'll see him. Besides, your grandfather never opposed us being together, right?"

"Hmm? My grandfather and his brothers might try to make things difficult for you, so don't take it personally."

"Oh? So, when the time comes, will you help me, or will you side with your grandfather?"

Ning Bei mischievously pressed his face against the little angel's, causing her to blush with embarrassment.

"Hmph, the mighty Apothecary Douluo needs my help, a mere Soul Saint?"

Indeed, during Ning Bei's trip to Han Hai City, Qian Renxue, eager to improve her strength, had consumed the Heartbreak Herb and obtained her seventh soul ring, raising her soul power to level 75.

Ning Bei didn't care that her seventh soul ring was of a low age; after all, the final test of the Angel God would likely boost her strength.

"Look at you. We'll be a combined force. Won't we be invincible then? Let's make those old guys' jaws drop when they see us. Don't you want to see their surprised expressions?"

"Uh..."

Upon hearing this, the little angel's eyes lit up with anticipation. Who wouldn't want to show off in front of their elders?

Ning Bei quickly fueled her excitement, mimicking the tone of Qian Daoliu.

"Ahem, ahem, my Xue'er is undoubtedly the most outstanding genius of the Qian family. Not only is her strategy brilliant, but her talent and strength are also top-notch. All of us old bones are no match for her!"

"Pfft!"

Ning Bei's antics caused the little angel to laugh and playfully pat his shoulder.

"Go away, my grandfather would never be so boring!"

"Just say whether or not you want to show off with your man!"

"Fine! Let's show our martial soul fusion technique to the grandpas!"

Qian Renxue agreed to Ning Bei's suggestion, her eyes full of affection. After all, she had already decided to be with him for life. That would also help her gain the approval of her grandfathers.

"By the way, you should know the owner of Yue Xuan, right?"

Suddenly remembering something, Ning Bei asked the little angel about Tang Yuehua.

To his surprise, Qian Renxue gave him a wary look.

"What do you want to do? I warn you, stay away from that woman."

Seeing his woman's protective expression, Ning Bei almost spat out a mouthful of blood. "Is that how you see me?"

"What are you thinking? I just meant that you should keep an eye on her. She's Tang Hao's sister!"

"What? But her martial soul..."

Upon hearing Ning Bei's explanation, the little angel's guarded expression disappeared, replaced by shock.

Chapter 159: The Third Trial, Journey to the Extreme North

"Her martial soul isn't the Haotian Hammer, but a noble circle ring, right?"

The little angel nodded in agreement with Ning Bei's words, her face displaying a slight look of confusion.

"Her martial soul mutated. Despite having innate soul power at level 9, she can't cultivate, meaning she can only remain a Soul Master for her whole life. Do you think she can survive in Haotian Sect, where power is the highest respect?"

"That's true, I thought you wanted to..."

Ning Bei gave her a helpless glare for her wild imagination.

"Can you stop thinking about all those random things? Do you think I'm that desperate?"

Realizing her mistake, the little angel shyly turned her head, pretending to act tough.

"Tch, half of the team you've prepared are girls. Am I the one thinking too much?"

"Well, it's not what you think. Just have someone keep an eye on Tang Yuehua. If she gets in contact with Tang San, let me know!"

Seeing Ning Bei smoothly change the subject, Qian Renxue gave him a dismissive glance but didn't press further.

"Got it. I can handle that. What are your plans after this?"

Ning Bei thought for a moment, and since there was no need to hide anything, he replied.

"I might be heading to the Extreme North soon to complete the third trial of the Ice God."

"Oh? You've received the third trial's details?"

Qian Renxue's eyes lit up. She knew Ning Bei had been wondering about the interruption in the trial.

"Yeah, it just opened a few days ago."

"Then you better get to work on it!"

Hearing her encouragement, Ning Bei's mischievous spirit began to stir.

"The one who should be working hard is you, Soul Saint Qian Renxue!"

Seeing Ning Bei with his signature mischievous grin, the little angel almost couldn't contain her frustration, and the room was soon filled with the sound of smashing and banging.

After a while, Ning Bei, looking disheveled with torn clothes and messy hair, exited the Prince's mansion, silently cursing himself for his sharp tongue.

In the following days, besides training, Ning Bei also checked the progress of his little disciples. It wasn't until two weeks later that Tianmeng's excited voice finally echoed in his mind.

"Bing'er, you're awake!"

"Stay away from me, you stupid worm!"

Ning Bei couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Tianmeng in his consciousness sea, looking like a dog in distress, while the Ice Emperor snuggled closely with the Snow Emperor, seemingly ignoring Tianmeng.

But Tianmeng wasn't in a rush. With ample time ahead, it had already mentally prepared for the long wait.

"Since the Ice Emperor is awake, I'll prepare to head to the Extreme North."

"Hmm? Are you going there for something specific?"

The Ice Emperor, still not fully understanding, looked at Ning Bei in confusion.

Before Ning Bei could answer, Tianmeng took over the explanation.

"While you were asleep, Ning Bei's third trial of the Ice God began."

The little girl's eyes immediately brightened upon hearing this.

"Really? Then why are you waiting for me? Go ahead and complete the trial!"

"Well, I need your help for this trial."

"Me? I don't even have my original body. How can I help you?"

Seeing the confused look on the Ice Emperor's face, Tianmeng quickly took over the conversation.

"Ah, the third trial requires us to cultivate two new kings for the Extreme North. After the Ice Emperor's sacrifice, the new Ice Snow Spirit has been born. But the new king of your Ice Emperor Scorpion clan still needs to be chosen by you."

"Ah, I see! Then let's hurry up and go!"

The little girl beamed with excitement. As the Ice Emperor Scorpion clan's queen, it was a perfect opportunity to add more strength to her race after the sacrifice.

"Alright, I'll just say my goodbyes and then we can leave."

Not wasting time, Ning Bei went to see Ning Fengzhi and explained the situation. It was better to ascend to godhood sooner than later.

"Father, I'm planning to go to the Extreme North to complete the third trial."

"Is that so? Do you need our help?"

Ning Fengzhi, pleased for his son, was also eager to see if he and the others could offer any assistance.

Ning Bei shook his head.

"Father, this trial isn't dangerous, there's no fighting involved. I'm just going to bring back two soul beasts to cultivate."

"I see. Well, go quickly and return safely. Be careful."

After informing Ning Fengzhi, Ning Bei packed his things and headed to Seven Treasure City, where he rented a Fanalie and set off toward Snow Moon City.

The coachman, the same one as before, smiled widely when he saw Ning Bei, and he couldn't hide his excitement. It was clear that he didn't mind the cold, harsh mission to the Extreme North when there was money to be made.

As his fellow coachmen mocked him, the driver just sneered. "You laugh at me for being old and foolish, but I laugh at you for earning so little. Drive for this young master a few more times, and you won't have to worry for the rest of your life."

The journey was smooth, and without encountering any problems, Ning Bei arrived in Snow Moon City. He handed the coachman a pouch of money with a satisfied smile.

"Alright, I'll wait for you here at the hotel!"

Ning Bei nodded, heading toward the Extreme North. In less than half an hour, the conspicuous warning sign reappeared in front of him.

He summoned Ah Bao and Erming, and a series of sneezing sounds filled the air.

"I say, Ning Bei, why do you always end up in these freezing, desolate places?"

Erming shivered in the cold air and glared at Ning Bei.

"Quit complaining. Isn't this the third trial of the Ice God? I have to come here."

Erming immediately fell silent. Being a god was impressive, even more so than Da Ming!

In comparison, Ah Bao was much calmer. Whether they were working here or somewhere else didn't matter. After resting for so long, it was time to get moving.

"Snow Emperor, let's go find the Ice Snow Spirit first."

The Snow Emperor in Ning Bei's consciousness nodded and pointed in a direction.

Ning Bei quickly signaled Ah Bao and Erming to follow him.

Just as he thought their lineup would be unstoppable and no soul beast would dare to challenge them, heavy footsteps echoed from afar.

A few minutes later, a gigantic humanoid soul beast appeared before them. The beast stood nearly a hundred meters tall, resembling both an ape and a human, with fierce bone horns protruding from its shoulders.

Ah Bao and Erming's pupils contracted, and they immediately transformed into their true forms, preparing to face the creature.

In front of them, Ah Bao and Erming looked like tiny ants compared to the massive beast.

"It's Ah Tai!"

The voices of the Snow Emperor and Ice Emperor echoed in Ning Bei's mind, and he understood the identity of the beast.

It was the Titan Snow Demon King, ranked third among the three kings of the Extreme North, a top-tier fierce beast with ancient Ice God blood. It was notorious for its brutality and love for combat.

It had been drawn to them by the Snow Emperor's aura.

The Titan Snow Demon King regarded Ah Bao and Erming's actions as a challenge and immediately prepared to launch an attack.

Just as it was about to act, the Snow Emperor's voice rang out through the air.

"Ah Tai, retreat! Do not be rude to the new Ice God's guardians!"

Upon hearing this familiar voice, the Titan Snow Demon King stopped, a look of confusion in its eyes as it turned to glance at Ning Bei behind the two beasts.

"Human, why do you carry the Snow Emperor's aura?"

Ning Bei didn't hesitate and directly released his second martial soul, the Ice Snow Girl, appearing behind him.

Chapter 160: Little Snow Girl

The Titan Blood Demon King, Ah Tai, couldn't believe his eyes. What did he just see?

A human possessing the Ice Snow Girl martial soul?

He grew even more enraged. As someone who deeply respected the Snow Emperor, he saw Ning Bei's possession of the Ice Snow Girl as a blasphemy against the Snow Emperor!

"Human, you are seeking death!"

Ah Bao and Erming immediately tensed, their soul power surging in response.

Just as the Titan Snow Demon King prepared to strike again, the familiar voice of the Snow Emperor echoed in his ears, and the Ice Snow Girl martial soul seemed to come to life, floating behind Ning Bei.

"Ah Tai, it's me. Don't do anything rash. This is the new Ice God!"

"Snow Emperor, is that really you? Why have you become a human's martial soul? Did this person use some devious means?"

The Snow Emperor sighed, all soul beasts had a poor view of humans.

"No, I couldn't successfully pass my 700,000-year tribulation, so I was fortunate to be summoned by the new Ice God and became their martial soul."

"Ice God?"

Although Ah Tai sensed a mysterious aura emanating from Ning Bei, he wasn't sure if he was really the Ice God.

"Yes, once the Ice God ascends to godhood, I will gain eternal life and will never face the tribulation again."

"Is that so?"

Ah Tai still found it hard to believe that the Snow Emperor, who so hated humans, would willingly become someone's martial soul.

While Ah Tai remained silent, the Ice Emperor's voice reached his ears.

"Foolish giant, if you don't trust Xue'er, then at least trust me."

The Titan Snow Demon King widened his eyes again and stared at the shadow next to Ning Bei, unblinking.

"Ice... Ice Emperor? Why are you here too?"

"Hmph, Xue'er couldn't deal with her 700,000-year tribulation, and I couldn't even handle my 300,000-year tribulation, so of course, I had to join the new Ice God to seek a chance at survival."

Upon hearing the Ice Emperor's explanation, Ah Tai had no more doubts. The Ice Snow duo were both extremely proud. If one of them had fallen for some trick, it might be possible. But if both had sacrificed themselves to this human, then the existence of the Ice God was certainly real.

"Ah Tai, go back. The Extreme North needs your protection now."

The Titan Snow Demon King hesitated for a moment, then nodded and turned to leave, occasionally glancing back at Ning Bei and the others.

"I thought there'd be a fight. This piece of land in the Extreme North, you guys sure know how to handle it!"

With a sigh, Ning Bei looked at the Ice Snow duo in his consciousness.

Before they could respond, Tianmeng praised them.

"Of course! My Bing'er is the absolute ruler of the Extreme North, do you even understand the value of the Ice Emperor?"

Looking at Tianmeng's proud expression, Ning Bei couldn't help but roll his eyes. "What does that have to do with you? Don't try to show off with me."

As expected, the Ice Emperor gave Tianmeng a stern reprimand.

"You fat worm, stay away from me! Who do you think you are?"

"Alright, Bing'er, I'll stay away!"

Tianmeng, now sulking in the corner of the consciousness sea, looked quite pleased.

Ning Bei rubbed his forehead in exasperation. "Such a troublesome being."

If the little angel or Dugu Yan had acted this way toward him, he would've had them stay in bed for three days to "assert his authority."

The group didn't pay much attention to the Titan Snow Demon King's interruption and continued toward the location of the Ice Snow Spirit.

Not long later, they arrived at a valley surrounded by freezing ice.

"Is this the place? Snow Emperor?"

"Yes, this is it. The little one is inside!"

Ning Bei nodded and was about to enter the valley when a small figure quickly flew into his arms.

Startled for a moment, Ning Bei looked down.

A small human girl was clutching his clothes, rubbing her cheek affectionately against his chest.

The little girl had hair as white as snow, and her appearance resembled a miniature version of the Ice Snow Girl martial soul.

"Who is this?"

"This is her. Looks like the little one really likes you!"

The Snow Emperor's voice echoed in Ning Bei's mind, confirming that the little girl was indeed the new Ice Snow Spirit.

Ning Bei gently poked the delicate cheek of the girl. She didn't seem to mind being poked but instead looked up and nudged his finger.

"How about I call you Little Snowflake from now on? Is that okay?"

Ning Bei lifted the little Ice Snow Girl out of his arms and raised her toward the sky, asking her opinion on the name.

The little one giggled without answering.

The Snow Emperor's helpless voice once again filled Ning Bei's mind.

"She just woke up and doesn't have high intelligence yet."

Ning Bei was momentarily stunned before nodding and placing Little Snowflake on his shoulder.

As for why Little Snowflake was so close to him, it was likely because he possessed the auras of both the Ice God and the Snow Emperor.

"Let's go. Next, we'll head to the Ice Emperor's tribe. By the way, Ice Emperor, have you chosen a target?"

The Ice Emperor in his consciousness nodded.

"There's a younger generation who was just born a few years ago. She had a thousand years of cultivation from birth. We can cultivate her. After spending a few decades in your little tower, she should evolve into a 100,000-year existence."

Ning Bei looked at the Ice Emperor and chuckled. "A few decades? Who are you looking down on?"

The reason the Ice Emperor had such an idea was because it had only stayed on the fourth floor of the Dan Tower, where the effects were like that.

"Ice Emperor, maybe it won't even take a few decades. My Dan Tower's ninth floor can provide 256 years of cultivation for soul beasts every day. With Qiu'er's help, we can cultivate her to the 200,000-year level in about a year!"

"What? Then why didn't you let me stay on the ninth floor! I thought the effects were the same?"

The Ice Emperor, looking furious, glared at Ning Bei. "You're giving me special treatment, aren't you?"

"Uh? I thought since you're going to be sacrificed to me, what's the point of staying a couple more days on the ninth floor?"

Ning Bei rubbed his nose and grinned sheepishly at the Ice Emperor.

"Hmph, I don't care. My future descendant needs the best treatment!"

The little girl puffed out her chest in a proud stance and looked away, her tone filled with authority.

Ning Bei didn't refuse. After all, he had already planned to do this.

"Don't worry. I'll make sure she stays on the ninth floor with your descendant. This is related to the god test."

"That's good! Let's hurry up then!"

Ning Bei nodded and called Ah Bao and Erming to follow as they headed toward the Ice Emperor Scorpion clan.

Soon, they arrived at a forest near the snowy mountains. To be closer to the Snow Emperor, the Ice Emperor had set up the tribe not far from the Snow Emperor's valley, making it easier for Ning Bei to find.

Once in the forest, the Ice Emperor's shadow appeared behind Ning Bei again.

"Ice Sha, come out and meet me!"

A few seconds later, feeling the Ice Emperor's summons, a one-meter-long Ice Blue Scorpion appeared in front of Ning Bei and bowed.

"Your Majesty, you have finally returned!"

This Ice Blue Scorpion was the closest to the Ice Emperor in the clan, with cultivation nearing 100,000 years.

"Mm, bring Ice Lan's daughter here. I'll take her with me. Until I return, you're in charge of everything in the tribe!"

"Understood!"
