Amanda woke up groggy and dazed, but the strange feeling coming from her body seemed to keep hounding her, asking over and over what on earth had happened last night?
The candle had long since gone out, and in the morning light filtering through the carriage window she found that Lance had slipped away at some point, though the mess of last night's battlefield was still plain to see.
What a ridiculous night…
Thinking back, Amanda still felt secretly delighted. A sense of security she'd never had before wrapped around her completely, and a silly smile crept onto her face without her noticing.
"Crap!"
Something suddenly came to her, and Amanda couldn't care about anything else. She hurriedly threw herself together and headed straight for the dock.
The dock was bustling now. All the ships had been inspected yesterday; they were just waiting for the word so they could finally leave this damned place.
