Hotel Sunshine

Room 307

--------------

In a room of a small hotel near the ocean side of Port Saxon, a boy was tied up to a chair with his hands cuffed with power dampening cuffs. His eyes were full of childlike fury, as he desperately tries to free himself.

In front of the kid stood three people, two of them making fun of him while the other looked at him with a pitiful gaze.

"Are you sure he is a pirate? This kid can't even speak properly," Tommy laughed at him.

"Last time I checked, they don't take children to their ships because they would be a burden just by existing," I added to fuel the kid's rage even further.

"You two know that there is a saying that goes like this, great minds think alike, but idiots seldom differ," Sylvia commented at our silly remarks on the kid.

"Come on this isn't friendship!" I argued.

"Yeah, whose side are you on?" Tommy continued.

"You will pay for this! All three of you!" the kid shouted. "They will come and save me, and when they do you will all die a miserable death."

"Oh shut up! No one is coming to save you," I said.

"You weren't even a real pirate yet, I bet they didn't even tell you where they keep their ships," Tommy laughed at him.

"They keep it at the western district at Bay Harbour! I know it!" the kid shouted in anger.

'Got him,' all three of us thought simultaneously.

"So what? There are like ten of you who are also applying to join them, it's not like this information even matters much," Tommy smirked at the growling little vamp.

"No! There are hundreds of us candidates, only the best ones are allowed to know of this!" the little vamp growled in rage as if trying to burn us with his anger.

"Oh, a prime candidate? Looks like we got quite a big fish to deal with," I remarked at his words, annoying him even further. "Look here, that still doesn't make you a pirate, you are still just a candidate."

Knock Knock

All of a sudden there was a knock on the door which riled up the kid asked he shouted, "They are here-"

Tommy made a quick work of him however by sealing his mouth with a mini energy barrier shot from his suit that I gave him.

I went up to the door and opened it, only to find a bulky man with skin as pale as the kid, his hair was whitish grey and his eyes were filled with bloodlust.

"Give me the kid and-" before he could finish his sentence I slammed the door on his face and left him hanging on the other side.

"See? Just a thug, and here you were thinking about a fleet comander coming to your rescue," I roasted him further.

"..." everyone in the room went silent by my deed, knowing that there was still someone outside the room.

Knock Knock

Annoyed by his constant knocking I opened the door again and said, "Listen here, you big wobly man, my brother can use momentum conversation and he is nine, do you think you look scary? You are probably a hundred years old and yet you haven't gotten out of your thug status!"

"... But I am forty..." The man outside the door cried.

"Tell that to your grey hair," I remarked, turning around to close the door again, when I heard a different voice.

"Mr. Allen, a word please."

'And there it is,' I thought, turning around to see a hologram being portrayed from the man's watch, the hologram only contained sound waves images and not the face of the person talking from the other end. 'Smart one.'

"I will be vague, we want to negotiate with you," the man on the other end said.

"Negotiate? For this kid? Looks like we caught a special one after all, well how would you like to negotiate then? Shall I bring him over to your ship?" I asked.

"Heh... You can surely jest, you would need much more than that to locate us," the man on the other end laughed.

"Can't blame me for trying," I replied.

"However, I never said I would negotiate with you for the kid, a child like that serves no purpose to us, Mr. Allen. We want you," the man on the other end explained. "A man of your talents working as nothing more than a special agent for the FBI? Don't you think you should be treated better than that? The ones who you carry as a burden with you just to fill out a team slow you down, isn't that right? However, if you join us... We could provide you with so much more! Things that you will have a hard time finding on earth because of the 'Earth is kept as a memory' bull shit. What do you say? Does the offer sound appealing enough for you?"

"Do you know what makes me upset?" I asked, glancing at the kid whose eyes had turned blank after hearing the man. "It's that you don't know the value of a life."

"A great man once told me... That every life was equally important... No matter if they are old or young," I explained, hearing which the kid who had a blank expression up until this point felt conflicted in his heart, almost at the verge of tears. "You lot... Why can't you understand something that easy? He has a heart like the rest of you! He has the blood of a vampire like the rest of you! So why are you so ready to abondon him? Is it because he is a child? Do you think a life so short doesn't mean anything?"

"You asked me to join you, just so you could abondon me just like you abondoned the child when I don't have a purpose to serve? Is that the same reason you abondoned this man as well?" I asked, shocking the man in front of me.

"Hahahaha! Ahhh... I would have loved to have your company, a pity that I won't have a chance to have you by my side," the man on the other end said, cutting off the call as I entered Flash time.

"No time to explain, grab the kid and Tommy, I will take this guy, follow closely," I explained in a hurry to Sylvia, which she replied with a nod and grabbed the two together as they were in her arms before running behind me.

The whole building was a trap from the start. No wonder they let people spread the information about the hot water outside. The FBI, the Police force, every single person who ever stepped in or heard about this hotel were their pawns.

They are going to blow it up, how would they do that? An energy bomb? But then someone has to activate from a certain distance, there will be an escape route for the staff, or are they pawns as well?

Wait... Escape route, that's it! They have this building probably covered by a energy barrier, but don't know that I am a Speedster, and I can't reveal it yet, a safe bunker? Obviously! There must be a safe bunker in this building for the staff to hide in...

Where is the bunker? Underground? No they wouldn't be that simple, hidden passway though the kitchen? A room? Backdoor, or front door?

Crack in the energy barrier!

"I got it, run!" I shouted, waving away the screen in front of my eyes making my way through the hallways, and exiting the front door gate by smashing though it by using the giant man in my hands as a ram to charge though the door.

Boooooooooom

The blast sound was so loud that it could be heard by everyone in a thousand meter radius.

"Haah... I finally got it... Phew," I exhaled in peace. "Status, show me a detailed explanation of my new attributes."

Still Force:

[Probability Manipulation] (Mastery: 0/100%)

[Metacognition] (Mastery: 0/100%)

Probability Manipulation: It allows the user to manipulate their possible future outcomes that depends on luck in exchange of a detailed analysis of the situation. This ability won't work unless a detailed analysis of the situation and its possible outcomes are provided, the user also needs to decide the best possible outcome to turn it into reality.

Metacognition: It is the awareness and understanding of one's own thought processes. It is often described as "thinking about thinking." Metacognition involves the ability to monitor, control, and reflect on how the user learns, to solve problems, or approach tasks. It plays a crucial role in effective learning and problem-solving. In short it helps the user decide what is the best possible outcome based on the problem.

"It was so worth it," I exhaled again in exhaustion.
