Chapter 52 - First Day At Paragon (1)

Paragon was an academy divided into five parts, a place where every powerhouse of the modern day has been to... However, that is but the past, following the alliance with the League of Hunters, Paragon had to add a new school to their academy. A school for hunters to train at, until then they are supposed to learn in the school of aura users.

This was also a way to make them stronger by making them learn how to use aura and manipulate the energy around them.

Hunters could also choose to learn at the school of aura users if they felt like it. However, none of them chose that offer except Tom who was forced to stay there.

Steve was not surprised that Tom kept his word but he was surprised that he recovered from his injuries in a single day whereas John was still recovering from it in his room.

The room was just like any academy room however it was slightly bigger than average compared to the other academies, this room could accommodate over seven hundred students. I mean students from all over the world come here to study at Paragon, even seven hundred is a small number if we were to account for all the metahumans, aliens, fishmen, vampires and werewolves.

Werewolves are tribals, so their numbers are lesser than the others. Their ancestors chose not to develop their knowledge since their beast-like instinct makes them who they are... The apex predators. John may have lost his bestial instinct under the influence of me and Alfred. However, he had gained a different type of instinct that could be a lethal weapon for him in exchange for his instinct.

I sat at the backside of the room beside Sylvia since John was still recovering, I still saved a seat for him. A favourable spot for keeping an eye on others, since I would get loads of attention anyway because of my identity, it's better not to avoid it.

In the story, Samuel had a similar idea but this time it looks as if he had changed his spot to the middle of the class beside the friends he made in Roger's group and that damsel in distress.

"I forgot her name... Isn't she one of the female leads?" Ryuk asked.

'Julia Ashstone is a mixed-blooded vampire with metahuman genes. She was the main female lead before Samuel thought of creating a harem and stopped caring about her as much as he did before. However, even after all that she sacrificed her life to save him during the third volume. Sigh... It's a pity that I need to kill her in the second volume before he loses interest in her. She truly deserved someone better, sacrificing her life just to be forgotten is something that I don't like at all,' I replied.

"Gotta play your role, right?" Ryuk smiled like a menace.

Heh... Damn right, I have to, after all... Who can be a better villain than the writers themselves?

After everyone arrived in the class, a man with white hair and blue eyes wearing a teacher's uniform and round glasses entered the room.

That was someone who nobody expected to come, Professor Holborn.

As I looked at him, I felt like he said something but couldn't decipher what it was.

"That's where I sat at?" Sylvia said.

"What?" I asked confusedly.

"He said that while looking at you. Do you know him?" Sylvia asked.

"I am seeing him for the first time. He kinda looks like my uncle," I answered. "Maybe he looked at someone else."

"Ahem! May I have your attention, please? I am Professor Holborn, your class teacher. You can call me Mr. Holborn as well if you like to. I will be responsible for all of you till you graduate from this academy. I hope all of you will stay with me because this school not only train heroes but also villains... Which happens very few times because they tend to die before they can even begin their reign of terror," Holborn explained, making a shiver go down from everyone's spines.

Holborn's words were always short but very impactful. Combined with the Sage Force, his words were enough to make them scared for their whole life.

"Now then shall we begin the class? I will be teaching you everything you need to know about metahumans, vampires, werewolves, fishmen, and arthopodians. So, try not to miss a single detail and since I can't focus on every one of you at the same time," Holborn's body began to phase so fast that he became invisible to the naked eye before reappearing before everyone in an instant. "My speed mirages will answer your questions..."

He was everywhere at the same time... Hundreds of speed mirages were present before seven to eight students, ready to guide them.

It was as if he had split his brain into a hundred parts to make himself focus on everyone present there.

The kids may not know how hard that is but speedsters like me would understand that something like that can't be done in twenty years or so... That should take a speedster hundreds of years to master.

The most speed mirages I can make right now is three but if I wanted to make an intelligent speed mirage like him then I could only make one...

At that moment... His ability scared me more than the Armageddon itself.
