Advancing slowly, Di Tou took are at each turn to scan the sky with his [Divine Eyes] hoping to catch any tentacles that might be randomly scouting about looking for prey. Di Tou suspected that if the Maw had indeed reformed any of its tentacles, they would be quite active right now, as the number one thing the Maw needed after such grievous injuries was a large amount of nutrition, and considering the whole reason it was here was to make the local area its hunting grounds, what would it be doing right now but hunting?
In ordinary times, perhaps the Maw could take things slowly, not greatly effecting the ecosystem until it was at a critical point in its evolution, allowing it to go under the radar, but having been not only discovered but injured by Di Tou… those patterns would naturally change.
