But even if Di Tou wanted to rely on the beast being inactive at most points in time to get free sneak attacks and hits on it, it would still have to wait for a later date. For one thing, he had expended all of his remaining Void Qi in his last attack, and it would probably be a month or so until he could continue. For another, it was probably… no, it was certainly a good idea to report this to the Academy, even if they didn't end up having a good way to deal with it.
After all, as he had realised earlier, he was just a contractor! He might have the methods, but he didn't have the full picture, or a hat in this race, there was no need for him to be the one to fret and worry about everything.
