Blake West
I ran.
I didn't know how fast I was going. I didn't even care that my feet were burning from the marble floors or that my chest felt like it was about to explode.
All I knew was I had to get away. Away from Zade. From his stupid smirking face. From his shirtless, half-naked body.
"Oh my god, oh my god…" I gasped, stumbling into my bedroom at last.
I slammed the door shut behind me, turning the lock with shaking fingers before collapsing back against the door, my whole body heaving for air. My heart was sprinting faster than my legs had. I tilted my head back, gasping, breath catching in my throat.
And then…
I laughed.
I couldn't help it.
The sound burst out of me, sharp and loud and breathless. I pressed both hands against my burning cheeks, feeling the heat flooding my face. My knees wobbled as I slid down against the door, letting myself sit on the floor, pulling my legs close to my chest.
"Oh my god."
