That was a big mistake.
Zion would never allow his prey to live once he had set his sights on them. By his own orders, every single person in this hall was meant to die— none were to be spared.
Or perhaps… Zion had simply changed his mind, for the man was nothing if not unpredictable.
"I fail to understand what you hope to achieve, Zion Hughes. Is the ruin of the Arden family not enough? Why continue this relentless pursuit, over and over?"
As one elder attempted to reason with him, Zion lifted the hand holding his pistol and pressed it beneath the jaw of the old man he had taken hostage. Instantly, every gun in the room swung back toward him. Zion only laughed.
"So you really don't care about this old man, huh? I said, answer me, do you still want to live?"
