"Zion…"
"Yeah?"
He answered with his eyes still closed, his tone lazy, almost indifferent. Suga hesitated for a beat, weighing whether this atmosphere— quiet, tender, unguarded was the right moment to bring it up. Still, there seemed no harm in confirming it again.
"About your promise," he said quietly, "that I could meet Ashley and Martha in Chicago… this coming January. You haven't forgotten, right?"
At that, Zion cracked his eyes open, a sliver of sharpness cutting through his usual calm. He shifted his body deeper into the sofa, folding his arms across his chest.
"Do you really have to see them?"
"Yes," Suga answered firmly. "Well, I want to make sure they're safe at the facility there… like you told me."
Zion exhaled heavily, tilting his head back. "The alphas and omegas from Paradis Island are still in rehab. Arden's family fed them drugs so routinely they grew dependent. January might be a relatively safer time… but do you truly need to meet them? What's the point?"
