Fifteen minutes later, Mila came out of the building alone.
Her heels clicked against the polished tiles of the lobby as she crossed back into the afternoon light. The glass doors slid open with a soft hiss.
The moment the sunlight hit her, Mila took a small breath, trying to collect herself.
Everything inside her was still swirling. The little electricity that clung to her skin after spending half the afternoon with Allen.
She spotted him instantly through the café window, exactly where she left him.
Allen didn't move.
He sat there, perfectly composed as always. Tea half-finished, posture relaxed, one arm draped loosely along the back of the booth like he had no cares in the world. His calmness was almost unreal.
As Mila entered the café again, Allen's eyes lifted.
Not rushed. Not eager. Just… deliberate.
