"Is everything you said true?"
Yan Rou asked Kang Yihong, her tears stopping.
"Yeah."
Kang Yihong nodded, then withdrew his hand and took a handkerchief from his pants pocket, offering it to Yan Rou: "Here, it's clean."
Yan Rou widened her eyes: "Why do you need to explain that specifically?"
"You guys at the Youth Educated Institute are particular about hygiene, and since you're a girl, I was worried you'd mind."
Feeling a tad awkward, Kang Yihong added: "This handkerchief is new; I washed it and let it dry, never used it once."
Yan Rou wiped her tears, a hint of laughter in her voice as she asked: "Is everyone in your family so particular?"
"My grandma, my mom, and my aunts all like cleanliness. And my little aunt loves cleanliness so much, she insisted we nephews each carry a handkerchief or she wouldn't play with us, even said she hated snotty kids!"
