Chapter 15 - All will be fine.

TWO DAYS LATER

The day had finally arrived—the long-anticipated wedding was unfolding, and excitement buzzed in the air, especially for our couple, whose fates were about to intertwine forever.

Qu's Mansion

Xiotan sat poised on her bed, an ethereal vision in a luxurious wine-red off-shoulder wedding gown. The fabric clung to her figure with elegant precision, showcasing the porcelain glow of her milky skin from shoulder to wrist. A delicate veil, woven with intricate lace, crowned her head, framing her face with soft, romantic grace. Her makeup was understated yet perfect, highlighting her natural beauty, while her chic ponytail added a youthful touch to her regal appearance. Her nails and toes shimmered with a glittery red polish that matched the vibrancy of her gown, and her heels—sleek, red, and adorned with transparent, love-shaped beads—clinked softly as she moved. Dazzling wine-colored jewelry completed her stunning transformation.

"Xiotan, you look absolutely divine today," her mother, Lifie, murmured softly, her voice filled with pride as she lovingly caressed her daughter's face. "Even the gods would bow in admiration before you."

"Our princess is truly breathtaking," Jinxin added as she entered, carrying a glass of juice. "Her husband won't be able to take his eyes off her."

As Xiotan looked at herself in the mirror, tears welled up in her eyes. "Mom, am I really ready for this?" she whispered, her anxiety rising as she glanced at her reflection.

"Don't cry, my child," Lifie soothed, gently wiping away Xiotan's tears before they could ruin her makeup. "This is a joyous day. Let go of your worries, and wear your smile proudly."

Jinxin stepped forward and placed a comforting hand on Xiotan's head. "Today is a celebration, princess. You have nothing to fear. Wipe away those tears, and let the world see your joy."

"Mom, is this really happening? It's all so overwhelming," Xiotan confessed, her voice quivering slightly. The whirlwind of emotions had her feeling disoriented.

"Everything will be alright, my dear. My blessings are with you," Lifie reassured, her voice gentle but firm. "Leave the past behind you and embrace what lies ahead. You're strong, and this is your moment."

"Are you sure, Mom?" Xiotan asked, her heart pounding with nervous energy. "Just thinking about it makes me feel... I don't know what to do."

Lifie smiled warmly, rubbing her daughter's back in a soothing gesture. "No one can predict the future, Xiotan. It's natural to feel scared. But just take a deep breath, stay calm, and trust that everything will fall into place."

A small chuckle escaped Lifie's lips as she took the juice from Jinxin. "Now, drink up, my dear. We need to leave soon, or people will start thinking the bride has run away!" she teased, lightening the mood and bringing a soft laugh from the room.

As Xiotan drank, the tension in the room lifted slightly. Once she finished, they wrapped up the last of the preparations and headed toward the banquet hall, the atmosphere electric with anticipation.

At Li Cheng's Place

Li Cheng stood before a full-length mirror, radiating elegance and sophistication. Dressed in a tailored red wine suit that hugged his athletic frame, he exuded confidence. The silk fabric, adorned with subtle gold patterns, gleamed as it caught the light. His trousers fit impeccably, and his polished shoes added the final touch to his refined appearance. The glint of his gold watch, diamond-encrusted ring, and stud earrings gave him an air of unmistakable wealth and power. His dark hair was meticulously styled, perfectly complementing his polished, regal look.

Just as he was about to leave, a firm knock echoed through the room.

"Enter," Li Cheng commanded, his voice deep and commanding. Da Ming, his ever-loyal personal guard, stepped inside.

"Sir, the person you instructed us to track has been captured by our men."

Li Cheng's expression darkened. "Where is he?"

"At our base, sir," Da Ming responded, his tone respectful yet efficient.

"Good," Li Cheng replied, his gaze sharp. "Prepare my car. We have business to attend to."

"Sir, what about the wedding?" Da Ming asked cautiously, not missing the tension in his boss's demeanor.

"They can wait," Li Cheng said coldly, his focus unwavering. "This takes priority."

"Understood, sir." Da Ming turned to leave, his footsteps quick and silent as he followed Li Cheng's orders.
