Chapter 83 - Demon God

AFO was cruel with the... reforming of his army. All those who were wavering in his cause were removed, and their quirks taken. And those who tried to rebel against him after he began taking quirks were quickly killed. Only those he deemed worthy were left. Those who wished for nothing but chaos were left, and those very members AFO referred to as his Vanguard Demo Squad.

Demo Squad was full of vicious and dangerous criminals who lived for carnage. Several were inmates once in Tartarus, serving lifetime sentences. And some were Death Row inmates who escaped during the breakout. To AFO, they were his elite. And to make matters worse, he knew exactly how many quirks he could give out without them breaking down. All of his Demo Squad had their quirks upgraded beyond what they could have done on their own.

Demo Squad was the first line of his attack. With them, they carved a path through the streets, their quirks evident. The streets ran thick with the blood of heroes who tried to stop them.

By the time they reached the upgraded gates of UA, the heroes broke and focused on rescuing themselves or those who couldn't get out of the way fast enough. UA's gates loomed like a mountain with unclimbable cliffs. But as soon as the first villain went to touch the walls to scale them, UA's full might showed itself.

What were once twenty-foot-tall walls tripled in height. Then the turrets, what were once made to disable, opened and killed those who touched the wall. And the worst part, the entire grounds began to vibrate and rumble. Soon, a chasm opened up and cut the villains off before the entire school began to fly.

AFO watched in slight amusement as the school began to fly. With the quirks he had taken from those who rebelled, he could have easily flown up and attacked the school. Bringing it down was a trifle matter for him. However, he noticed that the walls, once steel-composite, were now lined with an orange material that seemed to glow.

His new quirk, Hyper Mind, quickly analyzed the new defences. Soon, his mind saw all there was to the defences and how to disable them. With an eerie smile, he directed his minions to launch attacks directly at the underside of the floating UA. Without a word against his, those with ranged quirks fired all at once. With the aid of those with enhancer quirks, the projectiles hit with tremendous force.

AFO watched with glee as UA's foundation began to shake violently. Soon, bits and pieces began to fall off the foundations. However, his glee became an impressed look as what appeared after the foundations fell, crushing those who couldn't move out of the way fast enough, was a massive half-sphere holding up UA.

.

'I see,' AFO thought as he stroked his reconstructed face and chin, 'That orange material must be the reason that it has yet to fall. No matter, it will fall.'

.

As AFO was beginning to plan for the battle ahead, inside UA was chaos. Students who were still in the school, as well as the Hero Teachers, were in a panic as the school's defenses activated before the school could evacuate the students off the school grounds. Essentially, all the students, Hero course and all, were still on school grounds.

The Student Presidents for the courses quickly acted and directed the panicking students back into the school and into the classrooms. Each class did their best to ease the panic that was in the students' hearts.

With the Teachers, heroes and not, they were doing their best to calm the students. Some shouted orders to help calm the panic; others were talking and shouting that the Heroes from other cities were on their way to combat this attack.

All the while, Nezu, the principal of the school, was doing his best to get as many heroes into the city as possible. The HPSC was working with them and directing all the heroes they could get into contact with to the city. Even going so far as to call in assistance from other countries. Letting the world know that a monster from a bygone era was back and starting a war once again.

[Within Six's Mindscape]

Six sighed as he finally made massive progress. Currently, his mind was now full of various buildings, streets, and monuments. From both the Mojave and Japan. From a dead and dying world to one that only knew heroes. Around him, faceless figures walked to and fro. Each one, even without a face, Six knew that they were a person he'd interacted with once before.

However, there was one that still wasn't colored in or given detail. It was his self in his mind. That one person still, even after what felt like days of talking, was just a black silhouette. And from what Six understood, it was that man, himself, was keeping him from waking.

.

"Come on," Six complained to the black silhouette, "Look at all I did! Surely I can wake up now?" He said, gesturing to the surroundings.

"Nope~" The silhouette said, popping the 'p', "Not until you understand."

"Understand?" Six asked as he ran a hand down his face. "What's left to understand?"

"It's simple," The silhouette said as it walked around Six. "You still have to understand yourself."

"Myself?" Six asked in wonder. "Then what is all this?!"

"That's the thing about yourself," The silhouette said. "You may have understood bits and pieces of yourself, but to truly understand. You have to know."

"Know?" Six asked as the silhouette stood in front of him. "Know what?"
