Subsequently, the upper levels of Dorne hoped to figure out what exactly they had lost, but it was deep into the night before they could tally up the day's losses.
First, their radar system near Dorne was completely destroyed, with only one unused backup radar surviving, while the remaining radar stations were all reduced to ruins.
Secondly, three cruisers and five destroyers anchored nearby were sunk. At the time of their sinking, communication had already been disrupted, so no message reached Dorne.
