Ignoring her battered state, Gabriel looked closely at the person who had just attacked her.
Standing in the air with a smug grin on his face was a man with long silver hair tied neatly into a ponytail. He wore fancy dark robes, and his cold red eyes were filled with arrogance. It was Euclid Lucifuge, one of the main leaders of the Khaos Brigade and the younger brother of Grayfia.
"Euclid Lucifuge," Gabriel said softly, her voice cold and completely devoid of emotion.
Euclid twirled his dark magic staff in his hand, laughing to himself as he looked down at her. "Ah, Lady Gabriel. It really is an honor to get a warm welcome from Heaven's true strongest fighter. Though I gotta say, seeing you all dirty and bleeding is a pretty great sight."
"So a dog of the Old Devil King faction finally shows his face," Uriel growled, flying up to stand right next to Gabriel. His flaming sword was burning hot enough to melt steel. " Hey, you dog, where's your master Rizeviem? Did that bastard also come here"
Hearing the disrespectful remarks about his master, Euclid's face turned cold. " You worthless mongrels, how dare you disrespect Lord Rizeviem? I think you pigeons are too eager to die "
Without wasting another breath, Euclid raised his staff, and a massive wave of dark, heavy magic shot directly toward Uriel. The black energy tore through the sky, splitting into dozens of giant spears that aimed to impale the Seraph from every angle.
"Like that weak trick can touch me!" Uriel roared.
He swung his flaming sword in a wide arc, creating a wall of solar fire that vaporized the incoming dark magic spears in an instant. The resulting explosion sent hot shockwaves blasting across the upper plaza.
"Don't lose your cool, Uriel," Gabriel said smoothly, stepping past the flames with her golden rapier at the ready. "I will deal with him; you focus on investigating what the hell is happening in the 7th heaven."
Uriel clicked his tongue in annoyance, but he knew she was right. "Fine. Just make sure you smash that arrogant smirk off his face, Gabriel."
With a burst of speed, Uriel flew higher into the sky. A horde of dark beasts tried to swarm him and block his path, but none of them could even slow him down. With a single, blazing swing of his flaming sword, Uriel turned every monster in his way into falling ash.
He pushed forward, speeding directly toward the passage to the next upper heaven. But right as he was about to cross through, a dark blade flashed out of nowhere.
There was no sound, no warning, and no magic circle. Before Uriel could even react or raise his guard, a terrifying sword strike cut straight across his chest.
"AGH!"
Golden blood sprayed across the sky as the force of the strike shattered his armor and cut deep into his chest. Uriel's flaming sword slipped from his hand, and he plummeted back down toward the marble plaza, slamming hard into the ground near Gabriel with a heavy BOOM!
"Uriel!" Gabriel's eyes widened as she immediately backed away from Euclid, landing right beside her fallen brother.
Raphael was the first to rush over, dropping to his knees to quickly cast high-level healing magic and administer first aid. But Uriel was gasping for air, clutching his bloody chest as golden holy blood soaked through his broken armor. He gritted his teeth, trying to force himself back up, but the dark, cursed power lingering inside the wound was actively burning his flesh, completely blocking Raphael's magic from healing him.
" Raphael, it's no use; you cannot heal me with divine power still corroding my body " Uriel said as he tried to stand up, gritting his teeth. He looked at the sky with deep anger and roared, " Erubus, stop hiding, you bastard; I would never forget your disgusting magic power"
High above, the air warped and turned pitch-black as a tall figure slowly walked down from the dark clouds.
Surrounded by a thick, heavy aura of dark magic, Erebus stepped through the air like he was walking on solid stairs. He wore heavy black armor that seemed to eat up all the light around him, and his eyes glowed with an eerie purple light. In his hand, he held a dark, jagged sword still dripping with Uriel's golden blood.
"Still as loud and annoying as ever, Uriel," Erebus said, his deep, hollow voice echoing across the high heavens. "You should be thanking me Uriel; you will meet your end in the hand of a God. "
Hearing this, Uriel's anger level rose as he almost wanted to swing his sword at him. If one were to talk about the gods that have the deepest hatred towards the heaven faction, then it is definitely this primordial god. Because more often than not, this god was unlucky to meet Yahweh most of the time he went on searching for materials needed for creating sacred gears.
So during the past when God was dead, this guy would often clash with Uriel and the other seraphim. Well, it was mostly against Uriel, as he was the most warmongering angel in Heaven. One could say Erebus might have killed Uriel if the angel didn't move his body slightly and protect his heart.
"Hahaha, Erebus, you sure know how to make an entrance " suddenly another loud laugh rang out as the space cracked and another being walked out from the crack.
It was a tall man with brown skin, gold armor, and wild red eyes that looked completely crazy. Hot air and black sand poured out from the crack behind him as he stepped out onto the floor. It was Seth, the Egyptian God of Storms and Chaos.
"I thought I missed all the fun," Seth laughed, resting a big gold axe on his shoulder. He looked down at the bleeding Uriel with an evil grin. "Well, look at that. Heaven's tough dog looks pretty weak right now."
Uriel growled and squeezed his bleeding chest. He tried hard to stand up, but the black magic from Erebus's blade kept burning his body, keeping him down on the floor.
"Seth..." Gabriel said softly, her voice turning totally ice-cold. Her gold sword shined with bright white light as her twelve pure white wings opened up wide, blowing away the black sand. She knew that this situation had become more disadvantageous to them. With Uriel seriously injured, they are clearly not able to handle all three of these villains.
In fact, Gabriel knew that their top priority is to find out what is really happening in the 8th Heaven where God resides. But with these three here, there is certainly no way to be able to go to the 8th Heaven anytime soon.
