Chapter 86 - Prick like a needle

The pilot, Schnemo, reached the opening of the tunnel and looked inside. He saw a room with a bed where a person was sleeping, and black and white smoke floating in the air, as if the room were on fire — yet he didn't smell any smoke.

He bowed his head and looked at his companions, saying: "We survived. This is the room you were talking about, Kasha. There is a bed with someone lying on it. I think it is a woman. She is still sleeping and not moving."

Kasha cried out: "She is my aunt! Thank you! She fought the disease. The maid wanted to let her in through her door, but it was locked from the inside. I hope you are alive, aunt."

One of the guards climbed into the room first, then pulled the pilot up. The pilot helped Amini climb, then pulled her sister Kasha in. Finally, the other guards followed.

The smoke floated like a cloud around them.

The two sisters hurried to their aunt's bed. The aunt was resting her hand on the head of a dog that sat silently beside her, bruised as if it had just come out of a fight, with a pitcher of water between its legs.

Kasha called out softly, asking her aunt to wake up.

The pilot told her to stay back for a moment so he could check if she was alive or had already passed. The guards listened for her heartbeat and heard it pounding rapidly. The pilot held her hand, feeling her pulse. The guards confirmed: "Her heart is still beating." The pilot nodded: "Yes, I know."

The two sisters were crying and shouting: "Auntie, wake up! We don't want to live alone. We already lost all our family."

The pilot asked the guards to bring him a needle. One of them replied: "Where can we find one?" He answered: "Break the lamp and give me its sharp wire."

The guard handed him the sharpened wire, and the pilot pricked the aunt's leg. Suddenly, the aunt woke up, opening only one eye. She looked at the two girls as they sat beside her, holding and kissing her hands.

They cried out in relief: "Thank you, Lord! You are alive, you are safe."
